  1. For the price, suffix performance and Stren sonic braid are great. You want the best higher end stuff? Daiwa samurai braid is the smoothest and easiest to cast. It's almost too smooth lol. People are raving about sunline fx2 and I would love to try some this year.
  2. I thought they were metanium
  3. They are very heavy. That I will say. Dobyns glass rods are a composite as opposed to their graphite ones. More expensive, but lighter and more sensitive than the quantum ones. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdobyns704cbglass.html
  4. I just saved about $160 on two dx's I got...oh yea
  5. The difference between the new exceller and lexa is 4 bearings in the handle. Other than that I think they are basically the same
  6. Whoa whoa whoa...to your corners gentleman. I think there was some mis understanding. I read the comment as you prefer the sx for plastics and the mg for frogging. Perhaps ww2 read it as the sx can't or is incapable of being a frog reel.
  7. If you know current prices and what you are looking for, then dicks can have great deals. I've picked up over the years 1. Quantum tour pt. 279.99 for $100 2. Quantum Energy pt 179.99 for $80 3. Stradic ci4 199.99 for $100 4. Citica e for 60
  8. Don't forget the mgx review that measured at 5lb versus the stated 12lb
  9. Fuego baby. Get it tuned and upgraded and you won't be sorry
  10. The mg has a deep spool that can hold a lot of heavy braid which u need for frogging. The heavy drag and longer handle will help as well. It's smooth and casts a long ways as well.
  11. .Please let me know how this line turns out as I was interested in it. I know trilene fluoro doesn't get the best rep but I have a spool of 12lb that is great. A spinning reel specific fluoro interests me.
  12. It's smaller than the tatula which makes it fine by me lol. I enjoy the hood because of it's easy engagement when pitching. B
  13. I wonder of the jerkbait would work moreso because the fish have to actually look at it as opposed to the crankbait which is a quick reaction bite
  14. My issue with the tatula was that it was widest where I put my pointer finger with how I hold a reel. That and brake isn't recessed but actually juts out from the side plate right where I place my finger. I know the tatula is the rage right now and I also don't understand why the lexa was introduced only a year before the tatula when they are so close I price. However I did prefer the lexa and I know I am in the minority on that. If the tatula is too wide for you like it is for some, get the t3 or t3 ballistic as they are on sale and have a smaller profile.
  15. Edwin Evers is due for either a classic or AOY win. That guy is as consistent as it gets. Jason Christie is on a tear in both tours. Who do I hope wins? I am a big Skeet Reese fan but would love to see aaron martens finally win the big one
  16. Are you referring to the new wide spool high capacity bb1? I think it's meant for swimbaits and arigs etc. Holds a crazy amount of line
  17. I preferred the lexa honestly because it was much more comfortable to palm. Just my .02
  18. ^^^^^** Which is a reason why I think shimano is debuting a new curado. Competition sure can be a good thing
  19. They are looking like an excellent rod for the price. Daiwa really went balls the wall at this price point. They are not playing around. If they are like the zillions though, they will be very stiff for their rating
  20. Especially when the same technique can have many different rod types and actions. Heck, the quantum tactical series has two flipping sticks with totally different actions. Same technique used by two different guys two different ways.
  21. The trend of "corrosive resistant" ie plastic replacements of previously metal parts
