G Loomis Rep Sample Rod Sales?
If I were ever to pick up an nrx, it would be off one of these deals. As far as I know they are covered by the warranty as well. I have bought dealer demos and refurbished reels off eBay without problem as long as the seller had a high feedback

Finally Treated Myself!!
Thank you. Forgot to mention The reason people where upset with the score on Tackletour was based off of a few legitimate complaints. First, the rod lost points for being labelled a MH when it is clearly an XH. The reason people where upset is because the champion 735 is a MH under the Flipping rod system of powers and tapers. Tackle Tour did not know this and deducted points because of their mistake. A medium heavy power flipping rod is much more powerful than a regular medium heavy, say the dx703 or a medium heavy cranking rod such as the 705cb. All medium heavy, but different designations. Same thing with crankbait rods etc. Also, points for were deducted for the guides LOOKING upside down, not actually being so. The price was seen as a negative, but Valley Sports can give a great deal, thereby lowering the cost and consequently "raising" the score. Lastly, it lost points for not having a rod sleeve which only comes with a high end, select few rods. Take those negatives which a many feel unfairly scored the rod lower, and you can see that the rod was a better than the rating given it.

Finally Treated Myself!!
Maybe bandwagons gets started because the product is good and develops a following. I am not a pro staffer but have all dobyns rods and recommend them to others. This is coming from some who has owned St Croix, Quantum, zillion, Steez, Powell, E21, Cumara, Crucial and on and on. Why do follow the bandwagon? Because the rods are versatile, have excellent tapers, customer service, reliability, and sensitivity. Furthermore, you know they listen to the anglers because they are always expending their lineups unlike many other companies. The champion and extreme lineup have seen something like 12 new models this year in order to better fill the needs of people who wanted them. Are there rods that are more sensitive? I'm sure the nrx and higher end loomis/Megabass are more so and they also have their "bandwagon" riders as well. Should they not voice their opinion as well? What about the duckett following? What about St Croix? Why didn't you say something about his choice of a Shimano Core? I mean isn't the shimano bandwagon just rolling on? Oh wait, shimano had a rep for solid reels and has quite a following. To promote one product doesn't have to disparage another and just because many people like a product doesn't mean it's bandwagon, it's a group of loyal customers who are trying to recommend something to a fellow forum member. Back on topic. Congrats on the purchase. The 734 is one of the most versatile rods in the lineup and can do abit of everything from spinnerbaits to super spooks to jigs. The core is a great reel of which the only modification I made on mine was a hawgtech handle since it was longer. Oh wait, I'm in the hawgtech bandwagon I guess for suggesting them.

Cranking Reel Ratios
Keith Combs and Aaron Martens both use 7.1:1 reels for deep cranking. Keith won and event this past year using just that technique down in Texas. He crashed into submerged brush piles almost as fast as he could. KVD uses his 5.3:1 but he even says it's not a slow ratio as the high capacity (150 series) keeps the IPT high. That way he gets the torque needed to keep deep cranking smooth and easy but also the speed to really crash into stuff and get a reaction bite.

Are You A Tackle Junkie / Hoarder? When Do You Know?
Admitting to being a tackle junky would be to admit I have a problem. I don't have a problem so therefore I can't be a tackle junky. :-)

Tatula Vs. Lews Tournament Mg. Vs. New Curado.
Not to be confrontational but how can you make this statement when the curado hasn't even been released yet. As much as you may disregard the mg, it has been out for awhile and has a good reputation. The tatula is also newer and doesn't have a track record beyond a few months. I'm not trying to stir the pot, just heed alittle caution considering people are enthusiastically suggesting a reel that nobody has used yet lol

Good Rod For Buzzbaits?
I use a 4 power dobyns with braid. DX 704 with 40lb braid to be exact.
-
"inexpensive Reel" And The Alabama Rig
Lews super duty was meant for that type of stuff specifically. Lots of drag, holds lots of braid, brass gears and an extra long handle. Unless you want a round reel.
-
Quantum Reels
The smoke was a decent reel compared to the others I've used. All aluminum and a strong drag. Only issues where the cast control was iffy and the side plate is d**n near impossible to take off

What Length Is Your Jig Rod?
Between 7 and 7'4. My favorite is a DX 745. I throw jigs on several rods depending on water depth or how close I am.
-
Favorite Lip Less Crank And Color
Xcalibur x75 in their version of sexy shad chrome. That bad boy is a beast. I really like their one knockers as well

Need Help.
It depends on how you palm the reel. I keep my pointer finger wrapped around the front left of the reel and this is exactly where the tatula is wider than other reels especially with it's jutting brake dial. For me the difference was immediately noticeable so I got rod of it. The lews reels for me were ergonomically perfect. If you keep your fingers below the reel, you probably won't notice.

Need Help.
Most guys will say shimano but I would choose lews honestly. You already have a bb1and they have a rep for being outstanding. Furthermore, you can choose a reel based on your braking preference as they have choices in magnetic, dual or strictly centrifugal braking

Personal Experience With Tatula Or Mid-Range Lews?
The lews Mg and super duty and magnetic brakes only so there are options at that price. I know the tatula is the newest latest greatest thing but I did not like it. I was lucky enough to pick up a t3 on clearance which I much prefer. The Lews are great reels and you won't be dissapointed in either choice. I prefer the Tournament speed spool or tournament Mg. As they palm much better for me.

Favorite Square Bill Crankbait?
Hence why you see many adding the upgraded hooks lol. Luckily for me the dicks near where I live had mustad elites on clearance with 25% off. I bought them out Mwhahahahahah

Reel For Punch Rod
Lews Super duty Lews tournament Lews tournament mg All have 14lb if drag, though the super duty has brass gears. Mg and super duty have 95 mm aluminum handles which are great for extra leverage
