  1. I have watched it nice to see the full coverage after watching 3 days of war room coverage last week. I made a post a week ago showing my dislike in bass coverage. It still hasnt changed I watched Boom Booms 9.3 catch atleast a dozen times. Tharps how do you like then apples boys another dozen times. They had 50 go pros rolling. They should have 95% of all bass caught on film. Show em all! How about the others in the top 10 that didnt get a peep! Randy Howell wins it from 11 spot and you cant talk about below the top 5? I dont know whats worse Zona's constant blabber or Tommy Sanders continuous twitch like he has terrets. Don't get me wrong I love bassmasters and love bass fishing but wanna see BASS caught!
  2. I use a pogostick to simulate skipping in 3 foot rollers.
  3. You didnt specify a water temp but from 45-60 degrees this is my go to spot. I parrellel the rocks 10' off the bank making long casts with a craw color crank or trap. If I get a few fish to react and show me they are there. I run it again with a chomper watermelon twin tail grub on a 1/4 oz head or watermelon jig and speedcraw. This will often get the ones to bite that werent quite aggressive enough to chase. Watch the 2013 classic most of the top ten were fishing the same situation as you describe.
  4. No I havent lost a fish yet but I dont want to either. I have dual (small) livewells on my Ranger. I drilled some 1.5" holes in the divider to let water circulate better between them. I also dont use any additives to my water. There have been times I have deep hooked a fish and put her in the live well to see if she was going to make it. Often with the power bubbles and circ pumps rolling within a few minutes, she will be back to her old self.
  5. I have been trying to improve my livewell management in my boat. I installed a power bubbles kit last year and it really helped. Does anyone have these on their boat? What do you think of them honestly? Looking for nonbias reports thanks!!
  6. Squarebill in the prevalent baitfish color
  7. I watched mostof the three days of all war room coverage and the weigh ins. Now let me start by saying this is supposed to be the "superbowl" of bass fishing. Guys like Zona and Mercer are the best commentators they xan come up with? Zona flat wears me out. Mercer wouldnt know new material if it bit him in the rear. The national anthem on the first weigh in was sang by a Reba Mccentire tribute singer (aka Impersonator) It wasnt horrible but it dang sure wasn't Reba. I am sure somewhere ahe had her head buried in a pillow trying to pretend she was deaf. Then for the preshow they have SRS dock dogs. Most of which are mutts not retrievers. One of which is a yorkie that jumps 3 feet. Biggest fishing stage in the world and thats all they could muster up? The coverage is like watching paint dry, but not as much fun. How about a scantly clad bimbo doing tripps job or someone running up and messing up skeet reese hair. Now thats entertainment.
  8. Huh!?! If hed called me I have a few I coulda ran down to him.
  9. I fish one color Watermelon seed... everything.
  10. Good on ya for hitting the retreat! I am ready been watching the days leading up to it closly. I think it will be a great tournament.
  11. Boys I am here to tell you I am amped up!! We lost our ice this week and I can't wait to get out on the water. I have been down with a cold for the last few days and it is driving me crazy! I changed 300 round snaprings to ovals today. I ordered my LED light kits for my boat .My first big trip of the year will be for a week, back home on Table Rock the first week in April. I tied up 10 mop jigs that will be the first called up to bat. I sat for hours staring at a spot remover shakey head envisioning a 5 inch lizard thrown up around the docks. Every hook in my boat got the stickey test. I ordered a few things I needed for Jann's. Now I am trolling the fishing websites waiting on the BMC to start. It will be hours of staring at the war room too see who's gonna pull it off this year. Come on warm weather!!
  12. For me it depends on the time of year. I fish the flat side pre spawn and the drop off side post spawn when the females are out there pouting
  13. I throw a smithwick suspending rouge in clown color.on some 45 degree rip rap south facing banks. I follow it up with a red colored red eye shad hopped on the bottom.
  14. I too am from Colorado I will have to do some reseach on that lake. We are buying a place up west of Mac for a hunting fishing getaway. maybe well run into each other.
  15. That's crankbait fishing...
  16. Any of the water proof duck hunting clothing makes excellent winter fishing garb. I have a pair of cabelas watefowl bibs and a 4 n1 wading jacket. My wife just bought me ta goretex pro qualifer coat and bibs. I cant wait now to fish in the rain!!
  17. Welcome to the forum and congrates on the new boat. You are asking us to give you advice only time will get you the answers too. Just hang around the forums a lot and READ! everything you can get your hands on. Typically deep water fishing means structure. weather it be wood or rock if you locate bait balls in the area the quite possibly there will be bass there. Deep water structure may also be a bottom break or creek channel. Depending on the time of the year water temp can play into this. In the spring a 2* change in water temp can make a huge difference in activity. The same goes in the dog days of summer. The fish will drop back to their winter grounds to stay down around the termocline. Watch bassresource youtube hes covers bass fishing like no other. Even a seasoned bass fisherman will pick up things. But going back to where I started it all just talks time on the water to learn what works for you. Good luck!!
  18. If someone is down at 30-35% they are doing something wrong. Most likely not being patient enough and setting on the blow up. For gear I use a Fenwick MHX musky rod high speed diawa reel and 65 lb braid. When you get em up, outta the slop you hold your rod out the the side and just keep reeling. My guess is guys are holding their rod too high and they are throwing the bait.
  19. I bought a mustang and wear it anytime in rough water or when fishing by myself. I watched a guy tip over his kayak last year with one on. It probably saved is life too.
  20. Does buying 200 crank baits in the last 10 days count as a hoarder?
  21. I can hang it up in any temperature. Haha I throw one within a hundred yards of a stick and it somehow finds a way to wrap up...I hate chatterbaits.
  22. I can't understand how you can thing frog fishing is boring. It is anything but IMO. I fish a frog because I can fish areas I could not effectively fish with any other bait. I would say my hookup ratio is close to 80 percent but you have to be PATIENT and not rip at the sight of a boil. Think of it as topwater "jig" fishing. Once you get a blow up you have to reel down and wait to feel them. A blow up you have to wait... a slurp you can pretty much plan on rippin em. I lost a HUGE bass last year during a tournament because she caught me offgaurd when she blew up on it. I reaction jerked and pulled it away from her.
  23. I gave up the middle of last year on floura. I was doing the same thing. I was using braid with a floura leader. On a hook set I would snap it off. I believe I have fished so many years with Mono I have created a habit about jerking too hard. SO I just opted to go back to mono and keep it simple.

I want to try some cold water mop jig. I just bought some round rubber in brown and black and want to add about 50 percent silicone skirt to them. Has anyone done something like this? If so how may strands do you recommend. Thanks
  25. Ranger still make em one at a time...
