Frog Rod
For my frogging rod in heavy mat. I use a 7' Fenwick HMX musky rod. It has the back bone and is a broomstick. I like that it has quite abit of cork above the reel for the heavy hauling. I have a Diawa low pro reel on it with 50 lb braid. It will throw a frog a froggin' LONG ways! It in open water I just use one of my MH 6'6 casting rods.

Livewell Aeration
I run an older Ranger with two seperate livewells. I use my aereator but it over flows into the bilge. After awhile I am having to hit the bilge switch to discharge the boat. I am wondering if there is a way to makes this all more simple. I have thought about a float switch on the bilge that would automatically discharge. But have also thought of installing a 12v bubbler system that will run continueously. I cannot use additives to my livewell because it will be wasted and dumped. I have also thought of plumbing the over flow to the outside but am hesitant on cutting another hole in my boat. When I place a fish in the livewell. I like to let the water run a while, If I get one that isn't feeling good I will leave him alone in a box and pour the water too him. Thus makes it challenging to remember to shut it off. Can you give me some direction on which way to go? Thanks!

Koppers Live Target Bait Ball Crankbaits
I appreciate the response Ken and you have a great concept there! There are many of you that I deal with of FB.I would rather give my money to a true artist over a Chinese rendition anyday. In todays world it is very difficult to bring something new into the market place and not have it knocked off or copied. Just keep pushing forward and learn next time people aren't your friend. I will be looking you up!

What Kind Of Boat
Don't waste your time join a club and go as a non boater. You are suppose to get to rn the boat for half the time. altho most of my non boaters never want too.

Thermocline
The only time I think about the termocline is heat of summer and winter. Generally speaking I find that during those times that depth is roughly half of the depth of the lake. You can find it on your FF but as a general rule of thumb that's it. I am fishing a new to me lake on Saturday. I had very limited time to prefish so I am going to head to wherever 12-14 ft of water meets the structure. On this lake it would be the rip rap dam. I am going to throw a jig from 6 foot out to 18 feet and find em. You can pretty much bet if you get one or two in an area that's the depth they will all be this time of the year.

Bass Boat Equipment List...
I fish a lake that is heavily matter with weeds. the frog bite is UNREAL in it. but you simply can't motor into to a lot of water so I bought a Avery extendable push pole. I then made a lure retriever head out of a paint roller body that pins on the end. Now I have my push pole slash lure retriever stowed away in the bottom of my box.

Need Opinions On '94 Triton
I know this is going to be a kickin the nuts. But that's not that good of a price from that boat. I wouldn't own a mid 90's nitro. Around here you can find an older skeeter for a few hundy more with a 150 on it.

Can't Win With Topwaters
A couple things that pop into my head are topwaters It is one of the most effective. I have an arsenal of different topwaters from frogs to buzzbaits to spooks. If you put your bait in a spot you think might hold a bass stop it and let it sit twitch it and really try to get them to bite it. A buzzbait, I throw it then click my reel over once it gets to where I want it So the wheels are turning when it hits the water, often this will trigger a strike instantly. Another thing is if possible throw it up on the bank and crank it into the water. Contrary to popular belief bass will hit a topwater at anytime in the day. The only difference is you might have to get it tighter to cover. Also fish it parrell to say a weed line or a dock over plunkin it in at the edge creating a large splash.

When To Fish A Craw, Lizard, Worm, Etc.
I throw a lizard only in the spring around spawning time. I throw a craw most of the time otherwise weather it be trigged or on a jig. I hardly fish a worm anymore trigged except a big dark colored worm at night or a finesse worm on a drop shot.

Frog Fishing
You guys just talking about it gets my blood pumping. I LOVE frog fishing! The stopping it in a spot of open water...the wake behind your frog... The smash the RIP! yeahhh baby! I use a Fenwick MHX musky rod and 50 braid. I agree you have to let them have it but when you hook em you better be crankin!

How To Get Into The Slop With My Boat?
This post really has me thinking about my Tournament on Saturday. Everyone experiences the same problem with trying to get way back in the junk. Plus I think going in under power scares a lot of the fish that are hanging in the shallows. The can hear you coming from a mile away. My mission today is to find a PP.

Oil Reservoir
Yeap I premix my oil too in my 150 Merc. I carry a cheap measuring cup in my boat. I fill the tank then figure out how many ounces (4/ounces per gallon)and pour it in... pretty painless. I also add my Stabil at that time.

Bass Boat Equipment List...
I swam naked for a custom painted jerk bait a few years ago in 58 degree water. It was the only thing they were biting on. I wont do that again, but by the time the shrinkage factor set in, I was already wet and committed. I might have to rethink that next time.

Bass Boat Equipment List...
All great ideas! I have added a few things to my boat since once is a pair of cheap bino's to check spot and see if there is a boat on them from a distance. secondly is a cheap snorkel mask. I hung a terminator spinnerbait the other day and dove to get it. I was trying to follow the line down and retrieve it. No go... Now have a mask.

Suspended Under Heavy Weed Mats
I punch brushhawg type baits on our lake when it gets matted. I use a MHX fenwick musky rod and 65 lb braid also doubles as a great frogging stick.

Yamaha Owners ?
The gentlemen I bought my boat from had his oil injection go out and smoke his motor. Now he only uses premix. I too do this as well per his advice. It is the only sure fire way to know exactly what you are getting. I mix 4 ones per gallon. I carry a measuring cup in my boat. When I put gas in my boat I put in the appropriate amount of oil and sta bil.

Heavy Weed Fishing Help
I fish a lot of heavy weeds primarily with frogs but also use a large weightless dinger to skitter across the top and drop in the holes in the weeds. DEADLY! For a rod I use a 7 foot Fenwick Musky rod and 50 braid. It casts a mile and has the backbone to drag them out of it.
