  1. I personally don't have good luck when fishing around easy forage like you describe. Full Bass are really hard to catch! I would have found new water with similar structure to where the forage was. I also have NO patience in the wind. I would have found water where I was comfortable then slow down and pick it apart.
  2. There is alot of memories there. I haven't been back in almost 20 years. I lost the biggest bass of my life about 300 yards west of the dock. In the back of Mill Creek. She was easily over 10 lbs. She rolled at the boat. My rod dropped at the same time my jaw did and she spit it. I also had my first run in with a ticked mama CottonMouth, right off the end of the dock. She chased me 30 yards, she was gaining before she gave up. I really think the screaming scared her off. We used to sit on the dock and listen to the concerts over the hill at what was then Swiss Villa. Good times!!
  3. We owned Mill Creek Resort for a lot of years in the mid 80's.
  4. I am a soft bait fisherman. I have purchased a lot thru discount tackle and Overstock. Anyone have any more ideas on where to look? Thanks!
  5. Great!!Congrates!! You wont be owning it long until you decide you need a 18 foot fiberglass that does 70 mph.
  6. Thanks! I need to call them as well about a rub rail kit for it.
  7. Can anyone give me some ideas on where to get a trailerable cover for my 92 Ranger 482v
  8. after spawn... baby bass bomber.
  9. I just fish... If I get to trying too hard for a BIG bag. I might as well put my rod down. Its a mental thing for me. If I get on a small bite I will match all the elements Color presentation etc and move to a larger bait.
  10. I try and leave them in original packages so I can reorder when I get low. I use the clear box and gallon ziplock system
  11. let em take it before your rip em
  12. Yes that is correct. I would encourage you line up your hotfoot and drill a small hole ( smaller then screw size) before you screw it down. Drop a long nail or wire down in it too double check how much clearance you have between hull and floor. Screws thru the hull...will make you cry. I built a floor plate out of aluminum running board. I mounted my hotfoot to that. Then glued the plate to the floor of my boat. Much better in my opinion.
  13. I put my relationship on the back burner... I am gonna miss her. Who wants to go to the lake??

  15. Rain X or any of those windshield products will help
  16. I went in with $500 dollars today to Sportsmans Warehouse to buy one of two electronics for my boat. My first was going to be a large unit on the console. I had made up my mind on a DI Hummingbird then found the Lowrance 5x DSi on sale for $199.99. I picked up a Lowrance x-4 as well for the bow for $80. We have pretty small water here so I just could bring myself to spend 1k on them. The front electronic is just to have for a glance at depth and temp. Not really worried about "finding fish". So with my extra money I bought a new rod too!
  17. Well I was sitting here reading this post with my morning Fruit smoothie... I think I'll just have coffee.
  18. Its not a control thing with me. Its the fact that I have everything and know where it is in my boat. Its an 18 foot tackle box. I am fishing two tourneys at the end of the month with a new club as a NB. I am more stressed about the NB part then being in a new club.
  19. I'd say Ike we have a lot of the same style in fishin only I am not so high strung. Ish is a cool cat... Hank Cherry because of how he composed himself loosing that fish on the last day of the Classic. I would tied my anchor rope around my neck and jumped over board. Ofcourse legends like Clunn and Denny... they have made it.
  20. I am compiling a list for Walmart of stuff to pick up for the boat this weekend. handHeld scale Cull System marking Buoy Net Spare prop Extra boat key Sunscreen Bugspray Paddle Flashlight w batteries Spotlight Rain gear. I have a lot of other stuff as well. I thought this might be a chance to go thru what everyone else carries in their boat. Come on!
  21. Man thanks for all the great info. I will be picking some up! One of the guys in my Bass club was talking about them the other day. I have always been a SB fisherman... May be time for a change.
  22. Welcome to the site! I got 8 more agonizing years before I can do the same. Nice rig you got there. I too would start fishing Sloowww. Parrell to the bank in about 6-8 ft of water throwing a Rouge suspending jerk bait. Making long cast along cover until you find them. About 5-10 seconds between jerks or twitches. Once you get bit pay attention to what sequence it was they hit on, then duplicate it.Once the water warms up hit those dock piers skipping a Gitzit under them WHAMMO!
  23. Thanks!! I appreciate it. I will look into them.
  24. I have been looking on Ebay at humminbird for the last hour the prices seem way below normal retailers. I am thinking of ordering mine off there? Anyone have any input?
  25. Some (almost 30 now EEK!) years ago... we used to use weightless ribbon tail or culprit gator tail worms in the back of coves. They would KILL it! it is still one of my favorite summertime pond tactics.
