  1. Hand Job baits
  2. Speed up..never slow down. Does a rabbit slow down when getting chased by a coyote. If that doesnt work throw a trick worm in on him.
  3. I have a hard time spending over $60 for rod. I have a vast selection of rods in my boat. Most of which have new eyelets on the tips from me snapping them. I see constantly guys talking about the top of the line rods they own. I think to myself why are these $300-$400 rods needed. Do they make an average fisherman better? Are they a status thing to impress your buddies? Now I know most times you get what you pay. need some convincing that I need to go drop 2-3 grand on new rods.
  4. I buy mine off ebay or janns. Once you get started its an addiction.
  5. My boat ia rated for 6 people or 550 lbs. Thats a whole lots little folks. I got more weight in tackle then the people in it. Youll be fine!
  6. Stuff a drywall nail in the head end and watch what happens. The biggest misconception is you have to work it. I can promise lf your shaking it...it is too much. Just hold your rod tip and on a snug line and let it work.
  7. I define the pro guys by the jerseys they wear to the club tournaments. We have our own KVD and Skeet reese neither of them catch anything but they look pretty doing it.
  8. I have several in my trap box mostly are Rattle trap I know but I wanna say cotton cordell made some too.
  9. I prefer a super spook for the times when the water has some chop to it. I also change all my zara spooks over to split rings on the hooks it gives the hooks a lot more room to move.
  10. Brad Paisley wrote a song about it... I am gonna miss her. Many years ago I had this gal living with me. A buncha buddies and I jumped in trucks and headed to the lake. When I returned I found all my stuff piled in my yard. She had her ex husband come over and help her move my stuff out of my house and change the locks on MY house! True story.
  11. Wacky rigged senko with a drywall nail stuck in it is awesome for this. Itll stand straight up and shake it right in their face
  12. My girlfriend bought me the pro qualifier set from Bass Pro. it is AWESOME!!
  13. Here is what I want to do to catch smallmouth. I need a short light weight shaft about 2" long each way and a big hook..sporting about a #4 colorado blade. I picked up a do it 1/2 ounce mold. Can you guys help me with what gauge wire I would need and hook size?
  14. I was in s similar situation last year and had one chomper twin tail left. I superglued it back together so much it about wouldnt move anymore. Finished 2nd in the tourney by 4 ounces. I got greedy and went went looking for a big one shoulda stayed and culled up.
  15. I have one id make you a good deal on. I broke the transducer off my trolling motor but it still works fine. Might be able to build a mount for it. PM me if intrsted.

I finally got around to start pouring jigs. I had a couple issues that I may need help with. How do I clean out the eyes of they get covered with lead? Is there an easier way (than luck) to keep hooks in the correct position, when trying to close it? I thought about putting a dab of clay in the eyelet hole on the mold. Thanks these are just the first of many to come
  18. Hold your tip down and keep crankin on em I dont jerk as many times I have ripped it out of their lip.
  19. I scratch the big name fisherman signature off my bait. I don't wanna trick them into thinking they are being caught by someone who knows what the hell he is doing.
  20. I throw them at the most beautiful bush that I know is loaded with big largemouth...and hang it deep n the first cast. It a love hate thing.
  21. Good job on being observant, I take things like that and put them in my mental rolodex for the next time. If you fish the lake under the same conditions again. You are one step ahead of most other guys. I talk to myself after every one. I ask myself what I could have done different. Did I get the bites to win it then just didn't do my part or was I out in left field looking at the cheerleaders? You have entered into a game where there is very few first places finishes. You go out do the best you can and let the cards fall where they may. Good luck!
  22. I do not use lures with the big name fisherman on them. I think it intimidates the fish.
  23. That is what I do to my frogs. I throw white belly before the sun gets high then throw black bellys during the day. I think they can pick up the siloette better again the sun.
  24. No fluke there were reasons the bass were in there. It was possibly a degree or two warmer. They were in a pocket out of the current to conserve energy They had found a ball of bait pushed back up in there. Who knows? But put that in your mental library it might come in jandy someday.
