  1. i would use the braid, then tie on a fluoro leader, since fluorocarbon sinks, that will help you mepps sink some. and i would also use a small 1/16 clamp on sinker about 2 feet in front of the mepps
  2. what are your thought's on line diameter and sensitivity? say you have the exact same setup(hopping a jig across the bottom), one with 12lb fluoro one with 20lb fluoro, do you think that the heaver line will transmit more "info" back to you, (rocks all that stuff you feel on the bottom) or the lighter line will. i was fishing today what i just described, but with 17lb and and it seemed to be more sensitive than my other rod with 12lb( same brand rod, line, and jig) its just kind weird to think that different size is more or less sensitive does anyone else notice this?
  3. Let me know how it works for you, i've been wanting to try it..
  4. I ordered the 7ft one as well, i think itll make a good spinnerbait/ rattletrap senko and light texas rig rod. Should also be good for some topwaters
  5. those gl2 are a nice rod, dont get me wrong, i had 3 of them, i picked up a *** black, and honestly it is quite a bit better than the gl2. its lighter, NOT tip heavy, tad bit more sensitive, and the handle is all personal preferance, but i love the handles on both rods.
  6. are you talking just a reel? or rod/reel combo?
  7. when i seen the ... i was like ahhh sh!t what happened now, another damaged or scuffed up one, man this guy cant get a break?!?!? looks killer with the STX! now just wait till you fish with it and see how impressed you are
  8. alright cool, thank you.
  9. did you show him anything like a print out of what the website says?, or did you just talk to him, cause i want the vendetta 2 also
  10. Pick up a *** *** black 7'1 medium heavy and you can basically fish any technique you want with it. One excellent rod for the money
  11. Anyone out there with an endurance? How is it, what is it most comparable to, would you get another, just the basic stuff i wanna know before i go and buy one. Ive heard there excellent rods, just wanna hear what you guys have to say first.. Im mostly looking at the casting rods 714 & 723 but any review of a endurance rod will work. Thanks
  12. ya i did to at first to , i thought he said it was a MH, then i reread it and saw m and thought tomyself, a M rod and frogs dont go good together
  13. just thought of this too but ebay also has some killer deals time to time
  14. missile baits sells there D-bombs in a 25ct bulk bag for 13.99 on there website. thats a prety good deal. im sure if you contacted baits companies and talked to them on what you want and need, im sure they can hook you up with some bulk bags for cheeper
  15. keep in mind he only has a medium action rod, that's not ideal for a frog anyways lol and too heavy of braid can snap a lighter powered rod on the hookset ive heard
  16. yes braid is perfect. i would use 10-15lb. i normally use green. then if you want you can tie on a mono or fluoro leader, thats up to you though..
  17. where do you plan on taking the rod? if you can get away with a 2 piece that would be a lot better. and yes, your right, the power rating of the rod Ml, M, MH, H, XH, etc.. each rod can cast and effectively fish a certain range of weight, exampleooof a standard medium light rod is 1/8-3'8oz MH rod is 3/8-1oz and an extra heavy can range from 1oz all the way to ive seen 6oz or more example, you cant fish a hard body 12" swimbait on a medium light rod. and you cant fish a 1/8 oz dropshot on a heavy action rod. you can but you wont feel anything i bet ... you get the idea. and spinning rods are generally softer than a comparable casting rod, simple because casting rods are meant for heaver LB line and baits.
  18. i use 120Lb braid, its hard to come by cause its for halibut fishing, but works excellent. just kidding lol i use 50lb spiderwire and it works excellent. make sure your drag is pretty tight if not locked all the way down as well
  19. *** *** black or *** black, depends on how much you want to spend. But both rods have components that are WAY above there price range. Excellent value rods for there price!
  20. Same here, perfect action foe shakey head, wacky rig, flukes, very well balanced and excellent sensitivity
  21. Bring a heavy action rod and fling a 3/4 to 1oz football head with a hula grub or sweet beaver on it as far as possible out on the rocks. You should get bit. If not you can drive down to the columbia river, like 10min drive and thats pretty good fishing. Try finding a rocky point to cast out to
  22. Mine would be my *** *** Black 7'3 MH with a pinnacle XS-HI with 14Lb fluoro.
  23. Ya graphite flexes way to much. When im reeling my pro max super fast, it will flex and start to click like the gears are stripping out. Not good lol
  24. Next time you go to your local tackle shop, take him with you, tell him to bring like $30 and you will help him pick out some new line, hooks, and some baits. I bet he would like that and could use the experience of being in a tackle shop with you helping explaning what all the different baits do..
  25. So has anyone got there rod yet? Is it the vendetta or vendetta2 ? lol. im confused half of you are saying its the vendetta, other half are saying its the vendetta2
