  1. Went out Tuesday for about 5 hours. Fished jig,T- rig worm, trap, and spinnerbait in Yocum area. The wind would gust up to about 15 to 20 from the south southeast. Water temp 59. My small boat kept me off main lake. Fished timber point had one on jig but he unhooked. Fished grass line and small creek, nothing. Was unable to pick up fish on graph just couldn't find them. First time out in months and will be trying again thursday, before front.
  2. I CAN NOT SPEAK FOR OTHERS BUT FOR ME , I LIMIT MYSELF BECAUSE OF SPACE ,MONEY AND KEEPING MY LIFE SIMPLE . DON'T GIVE ME SO MANY CHOICES . DON'T NEED EM. THREE COLORS WORK AND THREE EACH DO NOT COST MUCH OR TAKE UP MUCH ROOM .EASY TO KEEP UP WITH AND DECIDE WHICH ONE TO USE. K.I.S.S.
  3. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY AND IT WILL BE WORTH THE EFFORT.
  4. THATS WHAT AMAZON AND TACKLE WAREHOUSE ARE FOR. WHERE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO THRU THINGS LIKE THAT. I HATE SHOPPING OR WHAT EVER THEY CALL IT.
  5. MY OPINION YOU HAVE GOT A GREAT REEL .

  7. ON LINE NOT TO MANY LOCAL SHOPS LEFT. I TRY TO USE STORES AROUND LAKE WHEN I CAN
  8. LOOK AT THE SHIMANO . I HAVE USED THEM FOR YEARS AND COMPLETELY SATISFIED,ESPECIALLY WITH OVER THE COUNTER LIFETIME WARRANTY.

  10. Happy Thanksgiving ,especially to all who take part on this thread of my favorite pond. Who would of thung it ,looking over this newly flooded area 45 years ago? To one cajun to another, special thanks to CATT for making this thread happen and for keeping it going .
  11. Never to hot for gumbo. How do you serve your chili, on ice? Goooooo Tigers!
  12. Can I go , I love hen and sausage gumbo, plus with LSU game against Texas A&M, can't get any better! Then when weather gets right hit the big pond hard.
  13. watch the line determine ,how it acts when hits bottom . Detect any change with eyes, can't feel these type of bites.
  14. Get rid of the snap! Palomar snug uptight should do it , if not glue knot to position.
  15. Columbia has a problem with the buttons on their slacks and shorts, do not stay buttoned. Very aggreviating. Love the shirts!
  16. FYI. Be careful with the heat in the trunk. It will melt plastic worms and spinner skirts, also will warp topwater and cranks.
  17. That's the way to do it!
  18. Congrats, nice fish, keep on dancing, you have all the right to!
  19. On the lake this weekend. Boy, was it hot? Did get to put in a few hours night fishing on bluffs around Kite's. I personally got what you call skunked. My son-in-law got on a few fish and caught three keepers in three cast and finished up with 5 nice keepers. I will continue using what I learned here . Can't get anything but better. One piece of advice make sure you have all your equipment and it is working correctly ,especially night spot lights.
  20. All you need is one spinnerbait rod. Minimum 6' 6" length MH with 15 lb mono use from 3/8 oz to 3/4 oz and a 6.3 : 1 baitcaster and you are set up for spinnerbait fishing for bass. Good luck!
  21. TBendBassin Nice........ Lat&Log Please HaHa
  22. Shaneus, thank you very much for the stretching and hydration reminder. I have been told many times and have not done what I need to do on a consistant basis. I will take your info and start incorparating them along with walking in my daily activities. This should help with grandkids and fishing goals. Dam, those high school and college athletics. Bassangler08 Welcome! I agree we need to continue this forum and start dissecting other parts of this great lake.I would like to see the Pirates Cove area dissected along with more input on night fishing. Let's get more people involved.
  23. Catt, sorry to hear about your back issues, I know what you are going thru. I had back surgery years ago and never have gotten better. I live in pain and walk on eggs every day . This limits my time fishing to four or five hours when I can go. I pray that both of us can continue doing activities that we enjoy , like fishing, grandkids , and pointing fingers using our experiences to help our family and friend. Getting to spend more time at the camp on Toledo Bend around Yocum and would like someday to meet with you and buy you a drink. I will continue applying your teachings that I have learned in this class , it is a personal challenge to get my pb to 10lb. Hope to hear from you and that you are well and doing great ...................
  24. Went out 7/11 from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. Caught 3 keeper's on Tx rig worm. Fished creeks and weed edges in Yocuum and Arnold in 15+ water. Returned next day about same time in same areas and caught 2 keeper's. Used tx rig worms and craws. Fishing was a little slow and not staying out but 5 hours limited me. Need to get set up better in small boat, running lights would not stay on, broke my best worm rod, had to much on deck for night fishing and did not bring drinks or food. Old man has to get his act together to better enjoy his outings . Will do repairs and better preparations and be back out as soon as possible. Keep your lure in the water!
  25. I thing new2BC4bass is on the right track, you are forgetting the most important thing what weight are you throwing 1/16 oz thru 1 1/2oz weight will make a difference. Here on Toledo Bend we use 1/4oz Tx rig and 1/2 oz C-rig if the wind will allow. I use 7' MF Shimano Compre . For heavier weights go with 7' MH , 3/4 or 1 1/2 oz weights. I will throw wtless worms with my 7' MF works great! I use 12lb Fluro line. (segar red).
