  4. Roadwarrior could you clarify the statement multiple rods but they are all the same?
  5. Baits as light as 1/4oz are best thrown with a spinning reel. Like golf you can not make one club to do all things , it is hard to get one rod to do all spectrums of fishing. It is hard for one rod to do heavy duty and extreme light duty. The manufactuors now even make rods technique specific, jerkbait, crankbait, spinnerbait, worm, dropshot and so forth. When you can, try to get a full set of clubs, until then concentrate on what you can do with what you got and perfect what you can do.
  6. WRB , yes white crappie , here in south Louisiana we call crappie, white perch, sac-a lait ,speckled perch and spec's. When we put brushpiles out for crappie we call it brush piles for white perch (crappie). Also what I meant was how bass fisherman fish this area for bass.
  7. I was wondering how many bass fisherman fish these brush piles and how do you do it?
  8. Went out Tuesday night for 4 hours caught a 6-2 lber and 3 other nice fish . Wednesday lost one at the boat bigger than the 6-2 and caught 4 other nice keepers. Fishing at night on recon rage tail worm in 15 foot of water on main lake points around Kite's Landing as advised by the Master (CATT) . Thanks sir for sharing your knowledge of this great lake and this fine sport we call fishing.
  9. Fished under the super moon Sunday with daughter and son-in-law. Was given info that there fish on brush piles off of bluffs and points at Kites. Fished for four hours and were able to get four keepers and a couple throw backs. Biggest was a three pounder. This was my first fishing trip using my new found knowledge from this thread. Hopefully many more to come.

Let's keep this thread going, to many have learned so much valued info. Again , thanks Catt and all contributors. 16. Skin so soft by Avon works, also dryer sheets.
  17. I have two of these rods, I use the square bill for my lipless 1/2 and 3/4 baits and medium diving cranks. The rod never knows that it is throwing a lipless , sqbill or med crank. Performs great for these baits. The other rod is the jerkbait model which is 1/4 to 3/4 I use for jerkbaits, topwater and light crankbaits. Once you get use to the bend and softness of the rod, you will be more than satisfied, especially where the pricing is concerned.
  18. First go to 4 or 5 proven colors . Elimanate similar style senko and yum dinker same style .Go to one major manufacturer you like Zoom, yum, Yamamoto, and Strike King. Keep in original bag store in plastic shoe boxes less than $5.00. Put in worm binder what you are going to be using for trip. You have absolutely to much plastic for one man. I know been there!
  19. BPS Pro Qualifier with 14# green big game and Castaway Med casting rod.
