  1. I am stuck at 18.5"....it's like one after another.
  2. My best for last week.
  3. I think it was likely right around 3lbs or slightly less. I thought it was funny and that I had no idea how close it may have been. Thanks.
  4. You got it! Zoom 4" Fat Albert Grub. Black w/red flakes.
  5. Nothing Crazy, the other day I catch this catfish with no real appreciation. Comes out its a yellow bullhead and the Maryland State record is only 3lb 7oz? Keep in mind I am wearing a size 12 boot in this picture which puts the cat around 16-18"...had a nice belly on it. Sure wish I had a scale last Friday! Made a report to DNR who let me know about the state record as well. Maybe I will go back and try to catch one bigger. Sure would be interesting to have a "State Record"!
  6. You should change the title to 10lb bass caught on live crappie and get your popcorn ready. For anyone who hasn't seen this, go to the 25:00 minute mark and enjoy!
  7. Funny, I was just about to post the same question as I now have confirmed a picture of 10lb+ LM caught at one of our smaller lakes. I honestly didn't believe the picture I had seen of a local fisherman who had showed me the catch on his phone. I thought maybe he caught in Florida and was lying...he had told me two others witnessed the fish, one his friend, and the other a local he did not know. Well, yesterday I ran into the other local. He confirmed but no one had a scale or ruler. He was shocked how large it was and said they got it back in the water immediately. The other surpise was how big the fish was for mid-July. Extremely girthy fish. It was caught on a large white spinnerbait. She should still be swimming int there summer. Location is in Maryland. Fortunately for me the lakes are private and I am home owner. Lakes are lighly pressured. Lake LInganore is where I normally fish however Lake Merle North is the place of interest: I usually take my daughter to Merle as it is loaded with 12"-14" LMB. Smallmouth can also be had here. I have the same problem, culling through the smaller fish to find the bigger fish. Looks like upsizing is the way to go. I will take any advice as well.
  8. Since love pictures so much, I will join in the fun as well. This was my best over the weekend (Fished 2 hours) 19"
  9. That is an epic fish even if not 18lbs. I feel it does look 29" though.
  10. Actually, these are likely larger than average males. The lake I fish is lightly pressured with high volume of large fish. The females wouldn't bite as I could site them. The one that did bite me broke me off immediately on 17lb test, however I had my drag torqued down for some reason. Facepalm! The girls were much fatter and have a different color to them, more silver like(even more so than the one on the right) but were not sitting on they're beds, rather swimming in a 5' to 10' radius.
  11. Prespawn is moving north! Fished 4 to 6:30 today at Linganore, New Market, MD. Caught 6 LMB. They are definitely in pre-spawn and staging due to warm temps. Only saw two beds but many fish were swimming/schooling 10 to 20 feet off shore close to the surface. I saw quite a few hawgs but the ladies were not interested. Here are my two largest of the day. One at 20" and the other at 19".

  13. So I took one of my neighbors' to the lake and he caught his PB. He just started fishing again but has only used worms with his kids. Made my day to see someone new to fishing enjoy it so much. Here is his fish.
  14. Looks like I will be making a fall thread too...My daughter broke her wrist last week and we have decided to push our trip to Orlando until Thanksgivivng. Looks like fishing is still good during that time of year too at least.
  15. There was not much when I was there. I fished the back by the bridge and channel. Yesterday I went out to Linganore for a little less than 2 hours. Caught 6 fish, nothing over 17". Most of them had nice bellies on them like this.
  16. Paint Branch behind Lake Artemesia. Very easy lake to fish from the shore.
  17. Glad to see many got some wet lines over the weekend! I had a site visit next to Lake Artemesia in College Park, MD. Pulled out around 20 bass that were 14" or less. Spoke with one of the locals who told me the large bass are hard to catch there except during pre-spawn and spawn. Lake was loaded with fish and you can fish the entire shore. No boats though . Seems like a great place for bank fishermen.
  18. Just checked and submitted a report for DNR. I noticed that somebody submitted a report from the large body of water next to Walmart on Monocacy Blvd. that there had been come curiosity about. Well looks like there are fish but maybe only little guys. However it may deserve a little "further investigation" after proof fish are there.
  19. I don't consider myself by any means a good fishermen so...if I am beginning to catch them....
  20. The bite is moving north! Central/North Maryland here and I had my first productive day of the year. Total of 5 fish in 2.5 hours fishing from the bank. Nothing huge but I wanted share some good news for those watching the bite move northward. All my fish were caught on a Zoom Fat Albert rigged on a Charlie Brewer Slider. This was the biggest just under 20" and likely just around 4 lbs.
  21. The bite is starting to move closer to shore at Linganore which I am sure means the same for Black HIlls. I had my first productive day this year. Caught five including my first smallmouth on the main part of Linganore. Was around 16". Didn't think to take a pic Water temp still a little on the cold side at 54*. All fish caught on my goto Zoom Fat Albert Black w/red flake on Charlie Brewer Slider. This one was just about 20" and looks to be eating. A smaller one from yesterday. Hopefully will be out again next week.

  23. Aweso Sounds like fun! I am still 0-for at Baker Park. Way to catch'em after this crazy cold front. Does anyone fish the creek in Baker Park?
  24. Wish I would have known that was Allen. I would have introduced myself. Anyways, nice fish! I'm glad I had the oppurtunity to snap a pic. This weekend looks to be slow. May stop by the small lake at Linganore when I get off work today.
  25. Got out for the first time on a boat on the Potomac. Got my first fish of 2015 and my PB smallie. Not a big smallie but I never get to fish for them.
