  1. With regular care a Lews will last as Long or longer than that shimano.. I'm not a Lews fanatic I have a curado and Chronarch.. But the best real I own is that Lews tp. So out of the list or 6 you have I would go with the Lews tp... The Lews tourney is also a good real and can be found for around 100
  2. Power pro and. 80 lbs might be a little over kill.. I would say 60 is plenty enough..Let us know how you like the new rod
  3. I have some double takes for my Stanley ribbits but never use them.. my hook up percentage is wayy wayy higher with just a regular 4 or 5/0 ewg with a twist lock ... Zoom makes hooks specifically for horny toads they have them on TW. Not sure if they are good or not.
  4. Hollow body frog.. I have so much confidence in a soft body frog, a Stanley ribbit to be exact but I never caught anything on a hollow body frog. When I do throw them I don't use it long because of the lack or confidence And flukes.. I have No confidence what so ever
  5. I have a falcon bucoo micro guide 7 foot MH I think it's a fast action.. I do remember it says trap caster on it and I know the lure rating is 1/4oz to I think 3/4oz.. I use it for light Texas rigs.. 99% of the time a 1/8th tungsten weight and a 4/0 hook is tied on. Every now and then I will throw a 1/4 oz spinnerbait or weightless senko on it.. I love it.. You can cast a light weight bait far and accurate and it is very sensitive.. For 120 I think you can get the micro guides and I recommend that.. I think the rod I am talking about will be a perfect all around rod for most techniques.
  6. Baby Junebug, redbug, black ruby, tequila, and watermelon red
  7. This has been passed down for a while... If the cows are laying down you won't do too good if they are standing you will have a great fishing day.. Meaning any cow you see (if any) on the truck drive to the boat landing ... The atchafalaya is behind a levee where people own cows.. So every time you go there or around there you will see cows.
  8. I prefer it with a Little Dipper.. But I'm sure any paddle tail soft swimbait will work.. You get the flash from the blade, the vibration from the blade and the wobble and action on the back end from the boot tail..
  9. Favorite thing to throw is a spinnerbait/chatterbait or swim jig.. My Most productive and confidence bait is zoom baby brush hog 4/0 hook and a 1/8 tungsten weight..
  10. Haha he will get you!
  11. I have a buddy that has like 20 or more rods and besisdes the 5 custom fiberglass rods, the rest are falcon cara micro guides. On all of his rods he has either a curado or chronarch and 1 core...with majority being the curado super tuned... if it isn't custom, falcon or shimano he isn't buying it.. With that being said... I have a mix and Match stuff.. The only thing I have the same is lews reels haha I rather try differnt stuff and have my stuff look differnt than my last purchase
  12. Reaction innovations Little Dippers
  13. Do you guys modify them in any way.. Like cut them to the bottom of the hook bend as you would a brush jig?? Specifically using a soft plastic swim bait? Example RI Little Dipper... Swim jig and chatterbaits???
  14. Ok so 1 week after I paid 25 bucks shipping and handling to send the rod back..A brand new rod came back to me along with a brand new *** fitted hat with the 20 dollar price tags attached. Great customer service if you ask me!
  15. I have a tournament and the regular speed spool..There is a big difference in quality.. My next one will be the tourney pro.. I am a lews believer now it will be hard for me to switch brands now
  16. SwampLife posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
So I was at Walmart and had to go in the fishing section to refill my baby brush hog supply and noticed all yum soft plastics were a dollar... I bought two packs of tubes one black neon ( black with red flake) and one watermelon with Black flake... I never fished tubes how do fish them? I always have a 1/8 weight tungsten with a 4/0 hook tied on.. Do I use that? Do I fish them as I would a worm or brush hog? Thanks
  17. 1. 7 ' medium heavy 2. 7' medium heavy 3. 7' medium All 3 baitcasters
  18. I don't tinker but out of that list I would chose the lews or the orra... Go read reviews on the lews or the bps pro qualifier...it will be hard to find a bad review on either of the two.. I never owned a pro qualifier so I couldn't pick it over the lew's
  19. Ehhhh...I posted a few weeks ago about my incident where i snapped a basicallly brand new *** blackon a hook set.. I am pretty sure I am one of the few people that this happened to. The few times i used it i enjoyed it..very light..the sensitivity is really nice. its hard to find any bad reviews on this rod. you can search the web and find a couple but not many and i think every member on bass resource who has one has bought more and really enjoy them..with that being said..since the incident i had and had to pay 25 dollar shipping and handling to send mine out for replacement. (i just sent it out monday so i still dont know if i have to pay the return fee) Im wanting to continue trying other rods...and keep in mind im one of the few with a horror story..
  20. This is pretty interesting.. I may have to get away from lews for a little while and try some things out!
  21. My next one will be a micro magic or the ghost.. But I also want to try a falcon rod too.. I have the ***.. I was getting pretty loyal to lews.. My last 3 reel purchases was lews but all this new stuff is making me want to change and try some other stuff out like that new quantum iron.
  22. It weakens mono line.. I used it on a new spool and it ruined it.. I posted about it on here and one of the guys broke it down scientifically and it made sense if you search you will find it.. They told me use kvd L&L instead.. I did and I must say if it wouldn't be for that I wouldn't like floro!! The stuff is amazing!! Search for KVD L&L vs Reel magic! Some awesome info
  23. Just fast enough to feel the blade chatter...put a matching color swimbait.. My favorite is the reaction innovation Little Dipper.. Although i have around 10 different colors my Most effective is the white trash color dipper with the char./white skirt.. Fish it any way and any where you fish a spinnerbait..
