  1. I would go with the 75yds. I recently purchased a line counter for these type of situations.
  2. I was in the same situation not to long ago and went with the 200 first. I ended up buying the 150 as well but in your situation I agree with Hammer and would go with the 200. Here is my thread with more advice/recommendations.
  3. I like to Yo-Yo but my rod lifts are usually not that high. After watching a friend use way higher lifts with success, I been testing it out.
  4. Were all the 1/2 oz shads on sale? Here in Vegas they only had 2 colors on sale and they were Baby Carp and Albino Craw.
  5. FG knot will probably be the smallest knot. But takes time and practice to master. Lots of different videos on YouTube on how to tie it. They also sell a tool that assist you in holding the line while you tie the knot. I have mid micro guides and use the Alberto knot and they pass through the guides fine.
  6. Youtube is the first place I checked out. A lot of videos are full tear downs and full maintenance on used reels. I found a couple that were simple and helpful. I made this thread because I was also curious to see how many people did full tear downs on a new reel and it’s actually more people than I initially guessed.
  7. I have no problems opening the reel up. Once it’s open, I’m not sure what to do...haha.
  8. Exactly the kind of info that I was looking for. I think I can handle this.
  9. Copper/Amber . Costas green mirror lens has a copper base. For under $80 look at Nines. Pretty sure you can find a discount code. You can get Costa 580p models in the low $100’s. I would save up a little extra and get the Costas. I own both the Nines and Costas.
  10. Here in Vegas we get 1 day shipping. If I order by 12pm, I would get it the next day. There was a period where it was taking over a week. My last 2 orders took 1 day. I placed an order today and the ETA said the 13th I believe.
  11. We are a year in with the pandemic, but Tacklewarehouse is also in California where they still have tons of restrictions.
  12. Yes I have done that recently but haven’t done a full tear down yet.
  13. Where exactly are you oiling if they need it? Or what would be some common areas that would need it out of the box?
  14. Just wondering how many you oil a new Baitcasting reel out of the box? If so, what specific locations are you oiling? Do any of you have any specific routines/rituals before using a brand new reel? If I wanted to oil a new reel out of the box, what areas should I be looking at first? I never serviced my own reels but I want to learn. I want this to be a educational and informative thread if anyone else is the same boat as me. Thanks
  15. I honestly don’t think they will have one but that’s just my opinion. I was ready to order earlier in the week but waited until today. I don’t want to wait with no official date and risk things being out of stock. Inventory is limited as it is. If they do end up having a sale, I’ll just order again. I just think it’s weird they pulled the plug last minute. The email I got from TW saying there were having the sale was on Tuesday. Only time will tell.
  16. As of the recent weeks, they were back to 1 day shipping to Vegas. Prior to that it, it was taking over a week. About to place another order, so we will see what happens.
  17. I emailed TW a few days ago and asked if they were having the spring sale today and what exactly was going to be on sale. They emailed me back and said that yes they were having a sale but didn’t know exactly which items were going to be on sale.
  18. I got the 580p X-ray version. Highly recommend it. On a serious note, I highly recommend a good pair for better clarity and also protection. Think of your fishing sunglasses as another tool in your arsenal.
  19. I prefer split grips as well and went with the Irod Genesis 3 Swimbait jr instead of the Fury and love it. Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the Bailey Swim was in the Genesis 2 line up? In the Genesis 3 line up I remember seeing the Swimbait Jr, Large and Jumbo.
  20. No idea. I can tell you that prior to buying both reels, I was researching myself and I asked one of the authorized Daiwa dealers the difference and he said, it was basically the same reel besides the aesthetics, wooden knob, extra bearing and he himself also said the Kage feels smoother over all and especially under load. I bought both reels to see for myself and I would agree. I sold the Tatula LT and I kept the Kage. I also have 3 Stradic Ci4+ reels so the Kage is not my first $200ish reel.
  21. I can almost guarantee you that most people here will recommend a MH, but I prefer a medium. It fits my style and also the places I fish. I consistently fish from the bank and a lot of open water. Years ago when I only carried one rod, I tried MH and ended up returning it. Purchased a medium and was extremely happy with it. I think it comes down to your style and the places you fish.
  22. I have a friend that kills it with a Sammy 100 every year. I prefer the gunfish. My walking bait of choice now is the Duo Realis pencil.
  23. Mine looks like if 7-11 had a fishing aisle.
