It is the same graph no matter what. The portable runs off a rechargable battery and the transducer is a skimmer-type with a suction cup. Speed is generated by a paddle wheel mounted on the stern. I've yet to see a graph that didn't display the water temperature. The 'TM mount' is just a puck transducer with a large cable clamp around the lower unit of the motor. The 565 uses a standard Humminbird Dual Beam transducer, available in either a skimmer or a puck.

Its going to hit the fan when RW sees that. The truth hurts. Hybrid and Hybrid US both have horrible memory. I can deal with the memory of CXX, but even 6 lb. US has enough memory to make me hate it.

Diving depth isn't really about 'pound test', it is related to the diameter of the line. I generally use PLine CXX 8 lb. for all cranking.

CX 8 lb. is all I use on my spinning reels. I like to think of it as a high class Trilene XL. It has less memory than YZ Hybrid Ultra Soft, a slightly thinner diameter, but less abrasion resistance.

The Strike King Pure Poison makes all other bladed swim jigs look like infomercial crap. Sharp hook (don't buy a Chatterbait if you want a sharp hook), quality skirt and blade and quality hardware. You WILL NOT find a better constructed bladed swim jig.

PLine CXX is the King of abrasion resistance. I think I could use it to cut firewood and then still catch a 10 pounder. I hung a crank in a tree last week, jerked on it a few times, then jerked it out. The line was as smooth as it was when I put it on the reel. The only thing more abrasion resistant than CXX is steel cable.

I've been hooked on the smooth curves of Shimano reels since my balls dropped. Or since I spotted the Citica in a BPS catalog almost 20 years ago.

I don't see why not. You won't win any races, but it will get the job done without a problem.

Therein lies the key. It isn't line for fishing cover. It happens constantly. People buy line, use it in the wrong place, then say the line sucks because they were using it in a manner inconsistant with it's purpose.

It almost happened. The wheel wanted to turn to the left on it's own. Luckily that is the direction I needed to turn when it took off in that direction.

If people know what the retailer is paying for the item, then they are sure to think, 'why should I pay him $XX when he only paid $X for it?' As stated above, rods and reels are the only true profit centers for a tackle retailer. There sure as hell isn't much markup on lures (soft plastics especially).
