I've had my fishing license checked twice in my life. It didn't hurt that I hunted/fished with the game warden and his family for 15 years. I don't mind being checked, what I mind is the attitude some wardens exhibit when interaction with the public. We have a couple in this area that would be better off being in animal control. I don't understand becoming a game warden/CPO if you don't hunt and/or fish.

Checking out a new lake tonight, have a tournament there in a couple of weeks and I'd only been on the place for about 3 hours a few years ago. Running and gunning, trying to find a bit of shallow water and some fish. Run way up the river, hit a few spots and head back down the lake. Steering is acting very very funny. I stop the boat and give everything a quick look, it seems to be fine. Start running again, something is definitely screwed up with the steering. Wheel wants to turn sharply to the left if I let go. Shut down again and trim the motor all the way up. As I'm hopping onto the back deck, I notice an empty water bottle float away from the motor. :-? Only thing I can figure is that it got stuck there sometime on my last long run. Once it was gone, the steering returned to normal.

And your point is? Dealers have to eat as well.

Haven't we been through this before Kent? Break strength is not the same as 'pound test'. Break strength should be an obvious concept as it is the amount of weight required to break the line. Pound test, however, is the amount of weight that a line can handle without deforming to the point of being detrimental to the line's performance. I like to use an elastic band as an example. If you stretch the elastic only a little, it will spring back into it's original shape. However, if you stretch that elastic too much, it will never resemble it's original configuration. Having used Hybrid, Hybrid Ultra Soft and CXX in the 6 lb. variety, I can say that are about equal in terms of strength.

It wasn't that bad, but I've found a Bullet to be the best. I don't think I utilized the Champion since I was wearing too many clothes.

The business end of Gamakatsu hooks is far too thin. The point rolls over far too easily.

Oh, and give people an idea of our schedule this weekend, I shall give a rough timeline. 061809 1800 - Arrive at Casa De Jimzee, uncover boat 061809 2000 - Arrive at Stonewall Jackson Lake and start fishing 061909 0400 - Back home after 8 hours on the water 061909 1200 - Awake and waiting for the rest of the scallywags to show up 061909 1900 - Dinner, then what seemed like 10 hours of Grand Theft Auto while waiting for storms to pass through 062009 0600 - Leave for the lake after sleeping for 2 hours 062009 1840 - Take out, eat dinner, then back to the lake 062109 0930 - Take out again, go back to Casa De Jimzee, sleep for a few hours then drive home. I'm still exhausted. Sat/Sun AM was fun, but d**n near killed me.

Boone's problem is that it is small, close to JC and Kingsport and probably has more pleasure boaters than any lake in NE TN. Cherokee or Douglas are much easier to navigate during crowded times. I'm going to Boone tomorrow to look around and I'm not really looking forward to being over there after dark.

You're buying six plugs at the most. Is an extra $15 for a set of six that much of a problem?
