St. Croix Mojo 7'4 Glass Rod
How is the sensitivity? Can you feel the bait vibrating? Does it load up like a graphite rod on the cast or do you have to let it load up more?

Daiwa Arid 100H
I would stay away from that reel.. I have read several reviews saying that the spool "buzzes" and have actually fished with one a few times. Every aird that I used had a buzzing spool. I am not sure why it does this, but I didn't have the time to take it apart and examine it.

St. Croix Mojo 7'4 Glass Rod
I would prefer to not get a glass rod, but this rod is the perfect length and action for what I want. I really like St. Croix rods for reaction baits as well. So does anyone have the Mojo 7'4 medium glass cranking rod? How do you like it and how does it balance? How well would it work for KVD 1.5's and Rat-L-Trap 1/4 oz lipless cranks?

Beast From The Bank ... Awesome Frog Catch
I hate to be "that guy", but I feel sorry for his rod and for the bass. It was a nice catch though.

Might want to look into the new IMX series too.

Squarebill And Lipless Crank Rod?
There are a lot of rods you could use for this. Graphite or glass or composite? This will help narrow it down.

What Y'all Cut Your Braid With?
I hear the western fisherman have been using their local Chinese take-out restuarant fortune cookie fortunes to cut their braid. Must be some secret tactic cause I hadn't heard about such a thing until recently..

Help Me Like My New Rod
IMO, 13 rods tend to feel more crisp then St. Croix rods. St. Croix rods seem to have a bit more flex in the mid portion of the rod even if it is a fast action. I would keep the *** and sell your brother the Avid.

A Jerkbait Rod Question And Have You Been To Walmart Lately
How moderate is the action? I was thinking about picking one up for cranks since I prefer graphite rods over glass.

Line Age...
I read somewhere that fluorocarbon lines (and fluorocarbon material in general) does not "age". I would not worry about it at all.

Lews Bb1 Pro Vs Tourney Pro
Line capacity, braking system, ergonomics, weight, handle length, width.

Lefty Or Righty
~61% left hand retrieves... Anyone else surprised?

Lew's Question
Tourney Mg has more line capacity.

Medium Moderate Rod
Can the bucoo easily handle lure weights of 1/2 oz? How does the bucoo medium compare to a St. Croix medium power? To the OP, take a look at the Lew's david fritts cranking rod, st. croix avid, st. croix premier cranking, carbonlite, abu veritas winch, and even the tatula.

Tatula Reel
I would say take it back.. The Ch E is a tiny reel and I find that it outcast the tatula for long distance.

Lefty Or Righty
If you were going to get a full line up of either lefty or righty reels, and you had to choose one side or the other, which would you choose?
-
Lefty Or Righty
People say that it isn't a fair representation of the public, and I think that is correct to an extent. I think that more and more people are switching to lefties (since there are more right hand dominant people in the world), so maybe one day lefty reels will be more popular and more prevalent in the industry. Oh, and the right hand retrieve people will get to feel us left hand retrievers' pain!

What Line Would You Run?
If you are going to run braid, go with 10 lb. Any more than 10 pound and you will have more difficulty casting long distances, and any less and you will have line digging problems.

Lefty Or Righty
Shocking results, no? Just like the similar thread on the other forum, left side retrieve reels received more votes! 32 votes lefty, 17 righty. That is almost 2 to 1.
-
Lefty Or Righty
I meant to say "more righties sold than lefties" rather than "more righties than lefties"... I'll fix that right now. EDIT: I just retyped it to something else so it makes more sense.

Lefty Or Righty
I saw this on another forum and thought I would post one here to see what the demographics of this community are when it comes to reels. The question is, are you a righty or a lefty? Manufacturers claim that they sell many more right hand retrieve reels than left hand retrieves. Also, note that in the poll, "right hand dominant" means you cast with your right hand, and "left hand dominant" means you cast with your left hand (in case that was written in a confusing way). *****This is for casting reels ONLY*****

Clearance Tackle
Academy sports had Sufix 832 for $6.95 a while back.. I am kicking myself for not buying every last box of it they had! I will try and stop by walmart sometime this week and give an update (FWIW).
