Head is a 1/32nd oz. football head and paint is a base color of New Penny with a clear coat of irridescent orange glitter, and the hair is grizzly bear
  2. Got some really nice skins off of ebay and local and also some hairline assortment packs and cut a bunch of zonker strips! Rabbit, arctic fox, mink, sable, squirrel, nutria and others.
  3. No such place!! LOL! I went to order 400 blanks for blade baits and I ran the costs for 5 different companies to get my best price - and it was Barlows. Right now crane swivels are really costly!! I even got some from China and they're actually pretty nice, worst part was I went through all my supplies and found 4000 of them!
  4. Trout and panfish but the bass won't leave them alone!! One body of water I fish has pickerel in it and they always hit them.
  5. Been tying jig flies for years - here's a set of Renegades on a tiny jig head.

Glue it in after. I've used craft fur (Targus is the best but very hard to find), all the bear hairs, rabbit, squirrel, sable, arctic fox, coyote, buffalo, bucktail and on and on.
  7. The only ones I've added feathers to are duck flank feathers for Float and Flies. The long neck and saddles I keep for tying flies.
  8. St. Croix Imperial Fly Rod at the flea market. Handle was still wrapped in plastic!!
  9. You could check with Mustang Wire but if they don't have it you'd be buying a lot to get them made!
  10. I have a lot of old stock Mustad's that are excellent compared to the new ones. but I was surprised about the treble hook comments. I've been using a lot of the EL374BP treble hooks with no problems at all. I use them on my spinners and for replacing hooks on crank baits I pick up at the flea market.
  11. Jigfishn10 nailed it - attach the blade to the first swivel with a split ring, and then either tie with heavy thread the swivel to the shank of the hook or as others have said shrink tubing
  12. Seal Coat by CS coatings you can brush it on, like epoxy without the mixing https://store.do-itmolds.com/Seal-Coat-_p_807.html
  13. It pays to clean stuff up!! I had tossed packages in my room or combined them and stuff got put on top of them. Well... cleaning up today I discovered a bunch of stuff I forgot about - and that I was getting ready to buy!!! 2 thousand split rings 4 thousand jig hooks (like I need any more jig hooks LOL) 1000 crane swivels 1000 roller swivels 900 treble hooks in 5 sizes
  14. US Air Force 82-92. Government Employee since 38 yrs total Dec 2020.
  15. No earings!! They already took our long hackle feathers to stick in their hair dont' take our weights away!!!!! LOL

    Good luck!!
  17. Twisted but if you have a hand wire former put the R in between the pegs and wrap the R into a loop like a beetle spin - problem solved.

Very Nice! What weights are you making those?

detroit1 - No dopey doesn't write for Northland!! LOL I like my Netcraft former and I've made lots of spinners on it! But it does take practice!! I've always thought about the Hagen's wire former but I'm cheap!! and I can make just as good with what I have! I also tie flies and jigs so I have all the materials to dress up treble hooks. King fisher - Thanks for the company names! I'll have to check them out, not that I need any more stuff!! LOL

I've got one of those wire formers but it has a Netcraft label on it!! Bought back in the late 70's. They work well but you have to practice to form tight loops, and the small loops like on store bought you won't make with this former!! If you get one buy it with the book!!! and the heavy wire eyed piece PAINT IT!! and DON'T lose it!! it's used for making spring closures for the old Hildebrant style spinners, and hook leers!!
  21. Might have to try one if they have a 7 ft. -- have to look for a 2 piece though, Have to be able to break them down inside the car.
  22. ALL Pure Fishing lines have a date code on them....you may need a magnifying glass but it's there on the spool. The code is read like this example C-12-10-1 Year starts with January A - so in your case C = March 12 - is the day it was made 10 - Is the year 1 - could be 1, 2, or 3 Means what shift it was made on
  23. I like my money! so no I don't get sucked in. For years no one talked about hair jigs and then some PRO started catching fish on them in a tournament and everyone had to have them! Those who know always had them and used them. I still have tube baits made my Netcraft!! and they still catch fish!! Same with my old Manns worms.
  24. I started making my own long ago!!
  25. Make my own! It's cheaper and I don't have to worry about losing them. Very easy to make! I traded for a bunch of lead lure bodies but thinking I need to buy the mold. Have some old style spinner blades from Weller and Roto Blades
