Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Took the 'yak to Wampatuk State park mid morning through early afternoon. Zilch, not so much as a strike. I used mostly T-Rigged Zoom and weightless Senko, but still couldn't buy a bite. Talked with a couple other guys fishing there said they'd had a tough day too, but have had great success there at different times of the year, using different baits. I followed their advice for an hour after our conversation, without success. I'll have to go back again when I can get there earlier or later in the day.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Grabbed a decent bass at BHR last night, between 1-2 pounds, on my 'regular' T-rigged gourd-green super salt. Senkos were quiet.

Anyone Here Fish A Pflueger?
I have two President and one Supreme XT spinning reels and love them. The Presidents are the best under $75 spinning reels out there.

Where To Get Bait Caster Overhauled
Mike @ DVT hot-rodded 3 of my reels late this past winter. I couldn't be happier with his pricing, quality, and communication. He'll do a great job for you.

Sit On Or Sit In
My daughter and I, together, couldn't tip over my Ascend 128T. When you're on the 128T it looks like an aircraft carrier. I haven't tried it with our FeelFree Lure 11.5. The SOTs we have are wide and the bottoms are scalloped, which I'd guess makes them stable.

Sit On Or Sit In
I got bitten by the kayak bug over the winter and ended up buying three (one for me, wife, daughter). My favorite two are the Ascend 128T and FeelFree Lure 11.5. The 128T is as stable as an aircraft carrier and its seat swivels 360 without any problems (I'm 6'1", 185 lbs.) and is also ALL DAY comfortable. The 128T has its issues (read reviews on it) that are easily remedied, but its price and feature set make is worth the extra modding. Our Lure is 85% as stable as the 128T, is lighter and easier to load on my ladder rack. Its fit & finish is better than the 128T and its price reflects it. Its seat is also all day comfortable, and the incorporated wheel makes short walks to the water with it very easy. I've added fish finders and other accessories to both. They've been great so far. So to answer your question - SIT ON TOP kayaks are the way to go if you're spending most of your time fishing. Best of luck with your purchase.

Dick's Sporting Goods
Stopped by a Dick's Sporting Goods in Massachusetts last night. All fishing tackle is buy one get one 50% off. I stocked up on Senkos. Happy shopping.

Help Me Buy Two Rods.
Two rods - that's just the beginning, especially if you read this forum a lot. I own rods by Abu, St. Croix, BPS, and ***. They all have good points, but overall I'd pick my Abu Veritas, followed closely by the ***. They're light, sensitive, and I like the way they load when casting. Cutting the list to two, I would keep a medium and a med-heavy, bothe fast actions. Best of luck with your choice.

.22 Long Rifle
I don't feel so bad anymore. .22 LR has been almost impossible to get here in MA for over a year, and when I find it, it's hovering around $50 per brick. Most other common calibers are in good stock.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I've been to BHR twice in the last few days and have had a 180 turnaround. Caught a six pack overall, 2 good, 2 OK, and 2 dinks. I might suggest the cool evenings are telling the bass to get ready for Winter. All were caught on T-rigged worm / Senko.

New From Long Island
Welcome to the most informative & friendliest bass forum in the 'Interweb'. If you have a question about any aspect of bass fishing, you'll find an answer here. And because I'm from New England I have to ask: Yankees, or Mets?

How To Survey A Pond, Snorkel?
I cheat with electronics. I have a Vexilar Sonarphone, which is a castable fish finder that creates its own WIFI network your smartphone links to via Vexilar's APP. I've had it for about a year and can say it works well. I tie it to a MH spinning rod with 30# braid. I've lost it couple times but it always came back to shore by following current. I guess I need to work on my knots.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I got a late afternoon opportunity to get up to Blue HIlls Reservoir yesterday. Caught a dink with a 4" Watermelon/Copper/Orange/Red Senko. A short while later I caught one in the 2 - 3 pound range on a 5" Smoke/Black/Blue/Gold. I worked them slower than I usually do, letting them sit still for a spell before moving. I worked Pumpkin/Black/Green with zero luck.

Lessons Learned While Driving
I heartily agree with you. During my 2nd night shift the other night we had a girl "reach down to get her phone" at 0300 which resulted in her drifting towards the oncoming lane where she hit the island divider, took out two traffic poles and the undercarriage of her car, including oil pan & gas tank. Luckily she wasn't hurt and our Hazmat truck had 'plenty' of speedy-dry.

My luck @ Blue Hills Reservoir appears to be turning around. Got a 1-2 lb LMB there this morning before my dentist appointment. Caught it using a Berkley Gulp nightcrawler.

Is 2-3 Hours Without A Bite Common In Summer?
I've had plenty of days where I'll go at least a couple of hours without a bite, especially if I'm fishing a new body of water where I spend much of my time paddling around investigating/mapping out the area. I wouldn't sweat it, fishing is still better than a lot of things we've all got to do.

Maiden Voyage On My New Ride 115X
I like the 128T because it's big & stable. The deck will sag in hot weather, but the seat, stability, and anchor trolley outweigh the floor. The hatches leak and the two round ones are difficult to open at times, but for 2/3 of what I paid for my Lure 11.5 - I'll live with it & modify it to suit my taste. So to answer your question: yes, it's easy to stand on. Additionally, my daughter and I, together, couldn't flip it over.

My 10 Year Old Daughter Loves To Fish.
That's great. My daughter fished with me from age 7 to around 12. She's 14 now and wants 'nothing' to do with fishing. Take a lot of pictures. It's a bag of fun!
