Throwing Senkos On A Vertais
I have a 6'6" M/F 2PC Veritas with a Core 50Mg sitting on it. I can throw 4" & 5" Senkos quite nicely with it. Though I don't have problems throwing 5" Senkos with any of my combos. Good luck with what you pick.

That makes sense. I worked for Alpine Electronics. Their global HQ is in Iwaki,JP. All communications w/JP were in the middle of the night....

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I have the best luck on the East - North/east bank It's about 22-25' deep @ 30' from shore and comes up to 11-15' about 10' off shore. There's not much for structure, reminds me of a BIG cereal bowl.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Got to BHR early this morning before work. Finally seeing small bait-fish & panfish near the shore. Caught one decent LMB by the gate house on a swimming Senko. It's good to know there's still bass in there...

Coffee Making
I use a Universal Coffeematic electric percolator that goes back to the '50's or '60's. Picked it up on flea-bay for about $10. Makes the best coffee and will outlast anything new.

Lowrance Elite 4X Help.
I just bought 2 for my kayaks from BPS. BPS's price was too good to pass up @ $119 each. So far I like it. It's easy to set up and using a 7.4 A/hr battery, I've been out all day w/o interruption. I find it to be a good, basic fish finder, sans all the extra stuff. The screen is excellent. I have no problems seeing it in bright sunlight with or without Polarized sunglasses on. I initially started out using the automatic settings you get when you first power it up but have played with it some since. The menus are easy to follow.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Been to the reservoir in Wampatuck State Park three times in the last couple of weeks, mainly to explore with my new kayak and get used to reading my fish finder, but overall have had no luck other than a pair of Crappie off a Rapala jointed shad rap that was 1/4 the size of the Crappie. According to my fish finder, the water temperature is in the low 60's - which I think is a high reading. So far Senkos, and spinner baits have been ineffective. Methinks I need more practice & study of structure and such... best of luck to everyone else.

What Happened To Our Sense Of Humor?
Why have we lost our senses du humor? I can't speak of the rest of the US, but the cost of living in Massachusetts has more than doubled in the last 20 years. I've always had good jobs and made pretty decent money, but nowadays my wife and I both work 2 jobs and that's how we're able to own a nice home and save money to, hopefully, help our daughter get a good start in life. A state college up here costs about $25K a year w/o room & board, a decent house costs $350 - 400K, and it'll cost $40K to replace my pickup truck if I want to buy new.... I agree with many posts that we've (collectively as a society) have gotten so smitten with ourselves that priorities have shifted from national pride to 'how do I feel' & 'you need to pay attention to ME' Don't get me started on social media - Aw, screw it - I'm all revved up again - I'm goin' fishing before work!

Ever Broke Fishing Rod - How?
I broke my favorite Veritas a month ago: I was in a rush, had my new kayak on truck, tackle bag & PFD in back, and when I closed my tailgate - well, the Veritas got caught in the hinge. Thanks very much to Abu's customer service & their policy of selling a new one at fair discount.

Acend Fs128T Kayak
Agree with your assessment 100%. I can lift my Lure 11.5 onto my ladder racks pretty easily and my 128T is much more work, though doable.

Marine Audio
Marine speakers: /////ALPINE or JL Audio. I worked in car stereo in the '80s & '90s & for Alpine for almost 10 of those years. I know the engineer that designed them (American - Japanese designed speakers just don't cut it here or Europe). JL Audio just makes plain old good sounding durable speakers. As far as marine head units go, Alpine stopped making marine head units three or four years ago but there might be one here or there. I think Clarion still makes one. Stay away from Boss & alike.

Zillion And T3 Ballistic
I have a pair of T3's and find they're the best casting reels I own. I own Shimano, Lew's, BPS, and Abu baitcasters. My Core 50mg comes pretty close.

Drunk Co Worker What Do I Do?
If you have a good relationship with this coworker talk to him in private. If that's not the case, go through your union's chain of command. My union would get the troubled member help without jeopardizing anyone's job.

Do Any Of You Put You're Other Hobbies On The Backburner For Fishing ?
Sounds familiar..... Though I don't fish that often either, working two jobs & family obligations.

Ma Fishing
Got out for a couple hours in Hingham: not so much as a bite. Water temperature around 44 degrees.

A Big Thanks To Bassresource!
????????? This forum's cost me more than therapy (insurance): lessee - Core50mg, a couple of PQs, Lew's Speed Spool, two Diawa T3's, 3 Veritas, a St. Croix, Johnny Morris, so on & so forth.... I think I drove Yamamoto stock up too - AND IT IS ALL WORTH IT!

A Big Thanks To Bassresource!
A++ this forum's done the same for me, though it hurts the checkbook sometimes..... Congrats on your success.

Finally Got A Kayak!
Congratulations on your new 'yak. I bought a 128T & Feelfree Lure 11.5 about a month ago. I've only taken the 11.5 out fishing, but installed an anchor trolley & folding anchor kit I picked up @ BassPro: works like a charm, took about 20 minutes to install. However, if you use rivets to fasten the Z-cleat, your rivet gun has to have a narrow head. My Marson rivet gun is too wide to fit between the Z's so I used #14 x 1" stainless screws. Hopefully I'll get out for a couple hours on mine; again, congratulations on your new 'yak. Lastly, I highly recommend Ascend's SOT cart, makes getting to the water much easier.
