  1. For that kind of cheese it better come with a scuba diver to swim down and hook the fish for me.
  2. I have a 6'9" for sale if interested.
  3. Too rich for my blood. Looks badass though.
  4. I have the same issue with my brand new Lews BB1. Seems sloppy to me..
  5. The past few weeks have been bad for me too. I was all excited for the fall bite only to have it turned off here. I have had days like you mentioned a few time. Stick with it. Usually just as I am about to throw a rod in the water I end up with one really nice fish. It's funny how that will make you forget about all of the other things that happened before.
  6. WOW! Anyone else think dude looke like Alec Baldwin?
  7. Fail I should have ordered these last night
  8. Welcome. Good to see a local.
  9. Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking the same thing, unless this guy is giving 20% off I will end up waiting for black friday. I will have to get my hands on a 50e and 200e7 to compare the size. I don't want something too bulky and I can palm the Lews perfectly.
  10. I hear you. During the past year I have tried about six different flurocarbons from various price ranges. From what I gather anything under $20 price range is really bad. I was about to give it up until I just recently tried the Abrazex and really like it. The Tatsu will be the next spool.
  11. Hey guys. I just got a side job and scored a few extra hundred bucks that is going to go for a new combo. I currently fish an Duckett and while its not terrible, I can't help but notice all of the Dobyns love on the board. My question is regarding the Champion and Extreme line. I am looking for a dedicated bottom contact rod for jigs and maybe C rigs. Part of me is curious about saving the cash and just getting the Champion, while the other is like to hell with it just buy it right once and be done. So, I think I am just going to go with the DX but can't decide on a 743 or 744. I currently do not have a heavy rod. Everything is up to MH. Does the heavier 4 power effect the sensitivity compared to the 3? I am usually throwing up to 1/2 oz jigs but rarely will throw a 3/4. Here is the best part. A local tackle shop just opened a few weeks ago and I was asking about Dobyns rods. The owner didn't know them but was interested. He then contacted a rep for Dobyns and he is having a demo in store with all of the models next weeekend. If anything is bought that day it is being sold at discount so I will most likely get one then. Also the rep is a rep for Lews at well. Now, on to the reel. I am not trying to start the Lews vs Shimano debate. I currently have two Lews. a Tournament pro and a BB1 both of which I love, However, much like the love for Dobyns rods on the board I am curious about a Chronarch. My choices are going to be between an Tournament pro in 7:1 or a Chronarch 200e7. Does anyone fish these specific rods with either reel? How would you say they pair to eachother? I know that I can get the Lews cheaper. That is not my concern. Also is the Chronarch 50e smaller than the 200e? I like smaller but want a 7:1 ratio. Thanks for any help guys.
  12. I wish there was a USA wide license. You figure it would promote more tourism at least.. Only PA for me.
  13. I think those Pike and Pickerel are employed by Siebert outdoors. I lost many new jigs to them. They will follow it all the way to the boat. One solid thunk and not even enough reaction time to set the hook and the jig is gone
  14. I was just wondering this as well. Currently I went from an Abu Garcia Veritas that I couldn't detect a bite at all to a Duckett White Ice. The duckett is much more sensitive but I keep reading how everyone loves Dobyns and am curious about them. Will it be more sensitive than the Duckett? Is the Champion Extreme worth the extra cash over the Champion? Anyone in the PA area want to let me try theirs out? lol
  15. Seems a little long. Don't worry the fish will tell you.
  16. Or what she looks like out of it
  17. Depending on the year of the boat it will not have it. Good luck. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/faqregt.htm
  18. I have a MH Veritas and hate it. I switched to a Duckett and I can feel MUCH more.
  19. This is exactly my point. Sometimes we will tend to get tunnel vision. The bottom line is that you can't catch them from your living room. The more you're out there the beter your odds are. Find what they want at that given moment and stick with it. Sometimes forums can be a bad thing. As an automotive technician I see a lot of people bring their cars in to get fixed after reading various forums insisting that I need to do X or Y, when me being the professional knows what's wrong and their forum info is incorrect. I guess if it's on the internet it has to be true lol.
  20. Check Marsh creek state park or French creek state park. I think both will have wheelchair access. Good luck getting the little guy hooked.
  21. LOL Sam you never cease to crack me up. Flyers are on tomorrow BTW The past three weekends have been tough for me. The weather is really cold at night then warm in the day. I assume this is the issue? I just keep reading all of these things about how the cooler fall weather turns the fishing on and it seems like it's the opposite for me. I have been throwing all kinds of things starting with the things the fish are supposed to want this time of the year with no luck. Bottom line is that I just need to find what the fish want at that given moment and not focus on fall type patterns. I was actually talking to a buddy of mine about how funny it would be if fish couldn't hear. Talk about one of the biggest scams ever. All of these lures used to make sounds, along with all of the tactics we use to be quiet, would be quite ironic.
  22. Hey guys, I have a question to pose for everyone: Are there any "rules" I guess you would call them of bass fishing that you just do not believe in? Wether it is a pattern, lure type etc. For example you hear many things about different colors or sounds, also it may be something like the weather is X so the fish are supposed to do Y. This year for example, the summer is supposed to be some of the toughest time to fish, while spring and fall and the best. I have had much better luck during the summer than spring and so far fall. I am not saying its not true, but as anglers hearing all of these "experts" spout off all of these different things that kind of stick into everyone's head, may cause us to do things that we are "supposed" to do. I know I myself am addicted to fishing and come here to try to learn everything I can, but the thing I wonder is that am I overcomplicating things? I think now to Mike Iaconelli's book where he talks about fishing in the moment. I really don't do this enough. I spend too much worrying about what the fish are supposed to be doing rather than fishing to what they are doing. Anyway, I just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. I am sorry if this rambling is too hard to follow.
  23. I have ZERO confidence in them. I have thrown all kinds of spinnerbaits, wakebaits, and buzzbaits with no luck at all. I think I have only got one fish in my life on a spinnerbait. All kinds of different colors, blades and weights, same results.
  24. What are your thoughts on the electronic pedal? I have heard a lot of guys don't like them. I want to upgrade my POS Edge.
