Not sure what you mean? It basically fit exactly where my old lowrance unit did. the base holes almost were the same too. I just ran the transducer and power wires to the unit through the console the same way it was and plugged it in. It's not bare here anymore

Finally got it installed. Just wanted thoughts on transducer placement. Sorry the pics aren't the best but the seam at the center of the transducer is even with the bottom of the hull and it is level both ways. I am not sure what the white thing is next to it? Speedo maybe? if its in the way I will just take it off because it doesn't work too often anyway.

Here is the question I am wondering: What are the main differences between the Curado I and the Ci4 that justify the $100 price difference? I have a Ci4 and Metanium and have not fished them yet but holding both in my hands they are very similar. I know the Metanium has major differences internally but have not heard of the differences between the Ci4 and Curado. Thanks Jeff.

I have a Clarus crankbait rod and a Crucial drop shot rod. Love both. For the $80 the Clarus is awesome.

Just got it in the mail today. Installation seems to be pretty simple. Learning to use it is another story all together.. Do I need to buy a map card? Most of the lakes I fish are not anything huge or well known. Also, could the unit be powered by the trolling motor battery to display battery volatge on screen or will that cause too much interference?

Transom is straight. Present one is mounted at the bottom. My issue is that will it work ok if the transducer is above the bottom of the hull to protect it from debris?

Hey guys. I saw a great sale at GM and picked up a 798si Hummingbird. I was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of while or before installing it? I have heard some horror stories about software updates so should I hold off updating it? Also I have a Tracker Pro 165 and want to mount it at the console. Does anyone else have this boat with any mounted pics? This will be my first time installing one. It seems pretty simple the only thing that worries me is the transducer placement so any pics of that would be awesome too. I am excited to learn this unit. I am going from the stock Lowrance X4 so it it a huge upgrade. I know the screen is small but I opted for smaller screen with side imaging vs larger without it. Eventually I will probably get a larger one and move this to the bow. Thanks again guys. Frank

Nice! That BFS cumulus combo must be light as hell. My buddy just got a BFS for that DX702 you sold him. I am anxious to try it out. I just got a Chronarch 50E and was wondering if you had any recomendations on a handle for it? The stock one seems so tiny. Also I am going to put the bocas in it and was thinking of one of those Avail light weight spools. Do you think the spool is worth the price vs performance?

Are they the same profile as a 3600 or 3700 Plano?

Matt, what are your thoughts on those Shimano boxes? I am debating on picking up the jerkbait box. Do you think they're worth the price? I got a Chronarch 50e on the way thanks to the sale this past weekend.

Hey guys, I am sure this has been covered countless times but I can't seem to get the answer I am looking for. Right not I am trying to spool 30# 832 braid and I was going to use some left over mono I had for backing. The problem I am having is getting the knot to lay flat. When I tie the improved albright knot it creates a hump when spooling the braid making it lay unevenly. This is the first time I am using backing so is this an issue that everyone just deals with? I know the purpose of it is to save money for the amount of line used and to also prevent the braid from slipping on the spool. Cost aside, am I better off tying the braid right to the spool through one of the holes in the spool? The only videos I can find are tying the leader to the braid but not the braid to the backing. Use a small spring loaded center punch to break the screw loose by punching counterclockwise. Either that or if you can get to it Dremel a slot into the screw and use a flat head to get it out. These methods work on cars all of the time. Good luck.

That's kind of what I was wondering. The difference vs cost. I'm sure the NRX is more sensitive but how much more is another story. How would you compare the weights of the two rods? The DX feels a little heavy to me.

Hey guys I was looking for some input on an NRX. Recently I just got a Dobyns DX744 and have not even fished it due to the weather. Well, as my cabin fever has set it I have read a lot about how great the NRX is and now I am debating getting one. I know the NRX is the standard in sensitivity but is it significantly better than the DX worth justifying the price? The other reason I was thinking about it was because I am worried the DX is under powered and I should have got a 5 power. It's mainly used for 1/2 oz jigs. I was thinking of the 895jwr NRX. The rod will be paired with a new Metanium. Are loomis rods rated similar to Dobyns or should I get a 4 power? Am I crazy for thinking about this rod? I know it's pricey but if it's a better performer it's worth it to me. Also blue or green on the NRX? Thanks again guys.
