  1. Up here there isnt anywhere to get non ethanol gas without driving for hours and hours
  2. I use somewhat of a surgeons knot, but if your ever fighting a fish and you get down to that knot you have bigger problems anyway
  3. It all depends on what you want to do with it. If you are going to get serious about fishing and fish tournaments, then a kyak will do you no good. However if you are just fishing for fun, a kyak will save you alot of money. I have owned and built up a few jons for myself, shoot me a pm if you want specifics.
  4. I just got a pair of Keen hikers because I wanted more support for standing all day fishing. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
  5. That picture screams frog to me!
  6. I'll take the senko, there are plenty of different ways to fish a drop off with it.
  7. I don't have the endurance, but I do have two Powell Infernos. I like them a lot, I would imagine the Endurance is good too.
  8. I tried the line butter, made everything way to slippery. After that I got the KVD stuff, its so much better. It works best if you spray it on the night before.
  9. What type of jig are you fishing, and how deep? Generally when I hear deep water and jigs I'm thinking football head.
  10. Well, if I fished beds, I would probably throw the lizard. I think out of all those baits the lizard would be most productive for bedding bass. However, since I don't fish beds, I'll take the frog and see if I can get some males to hit it.
  11. This is a tough one for me. I feel like im better alone, however, when you have someone with you, they may pick up on something you are missing. At the same time, when you are fishing with someone you have to worry about boat position so you arent rear ending them, the person in the back getting stuck and having to swing the boat round to get them unstuck, the speed you are fishing if you are fishing a fast moving lure and they want to throw a jig or something etc...Not that big of a deal fun fishing, but when you are fishing a tourney that stuff can get old quick, epsecially if you are having a bad day.
  12. I like the split grips for fishing jigs and soft plastics. Anything I use 2 hands to cast with like spinnerbait, crankbait etc I prefer a full grip. Casting a split grip with 2 hands feels really awkward to me, as I found out yesterday.
  13. What is your favorite braid? Power Pro for now, got some Suffix to try Your favorite fluorocarbon? Sunline Super FC Sniper Your favorite monofilament? Used to be the Excel from Bass Pro, but havent been liking it lately. Picked up some Suffix Siege to try Your favorite copolymer? N/A
  14. Yes Turner res, sorry being from EP we have always called it the EP res. Do you fish Omega pond too? There is some big fish in there, as well as the brickyard in Barrington.
  15. Actually no. I only throw it about 40% of the time on my trips. For example, I fished a tournament last weekend and started out throwing the spinnerbait. I caught 2 fish on it right away, then a few casts later i switched it up for almost the rest of the tournament. I picked it up every now and then, and near the end of the tournament caught 2 more fish on it when the other things I was throwing stopped working for me. I probably only used it maybe 3 hours of the tournament, the other 5 I threw other stuff.
  16. I have never really fished too much with spinnerbaits, but for some reason this year im slamming them on spinnerbaits. I have to say Im gaining alot of confidence throwing a spinnerbait.
  17. I live in RI, and I own one spinning set up. I also own about 15 baitcasters. I havent used the spinning rod in about 5 years. Not all of us in the north use fairy wands.
  18. Right now what is on my mind is the fact that I have to work in an hour, got about 2 hours sleep and have a pounding headache. The good news is after work im working on my boat.
  19. Im going to be laughing at this all day.
  20. Well what do you expect from a state that does more for the illegals and moochers than the tax paying law abiding citizens?lol
  21. Your lucky you don't live in Liberalville like me. To get a carry permit here, first you have to be qualified. That involves shooting a 199 out of 300 on an army L target at 25 yards. Yes yards not feet. Also you can only carry the caliber you qualify with or less. For example if you qualify with 9mm, that's the largest caliber you can carry. Once that is done, you either try and go through the city you live in for a permit, or you go to the attorney general. The AG is ''may issue '' where the cities are supposed to be shall issue. However, most cities now try to send you to the AG. The AG is almost impossible to get a permit from without good reason. I know a couple guys who tried him and were denied. They now have lawyers and its been going on for months with no results.
  22. I have never seen a gun in any Walmart in my state. That said, Dicks does sell them. I guess you could say its pretty easy providing you can pass the backround check. For example, if you want to buy a pistol in RI, you either need a hunting license or what they call a "blue card". The blue card test is multiple choice, when I took it it was about 30 questions. If you pass that, it takes about a week to get your card in the mail. To get a hunting license, if you have never had one before, you need to take a hunters safety course. If you already have either of those, you go in, pick a gun, fill out the form. There is a 7 day waiting period, so providing you pass the backround check, you can pick up your gun a week later. Now, getting a permit to carry that pistol is a whole different animal.
