  1. Braid to mono is good if you have Pike. Big Pike like $9 frogs.
  2. Use mono if that's what you're into. SCIII in the Avid is good but it's not exceptionally sensitive. Braid has very little sensitivity on a slack line so you're not getting much help there fishing weightless baits like a Senko. You definitely don't have to use braid unless you're tossing Senkos into pads and grass. Fluorocarbon is very good for Senko fishing but it isn't a huge jump in sensitivity over mono unless you spring for the good stuff. Plus Fluorocarbon is not fun on a spinning reel.
  3. Extra fast with fluoro, fast with braid.
  4. Yes.
  5. Yeah, those sometimes need to be tuned.
  6. New GLX MBR's could have full grips like the E6x ones.
  7. That's a lot of backing. Depending on the diameter, you may not get enough braid on there.
  8. Weightless which plastics? A 5" Senko is like 3/8 oz. A trick worm and hook is like 3/16 oz maybe? Some of it comes down to technique. Smooth casting motion and let the brakes do their job. I sometimes have to throw a 1/8 oz swim jig and 4" trailer on a Heavy. It works, though I sort of screw with things by using thinner braid and stupid enthusiast reels. I'm lousy when it comes to "relatable gear". The Tournament Pro should do 1/4 oz easy though. G. Loomis 802, 842, and 852 are all under 1/4 but they don't make the 842 in the E6X bass lineup which is probably where you'd be looking price-wise. There *may* be an 842 in the walleye lineup. That 852 would be killer for your purposes though.
  9. I will absolutely buy more reels than I need.
  10. Fury or Mojo at near $100. Pick your favorite between green and purple.
  11. Sufix Siege or CXX for mono. Shooter is my favorite fluoro but I don't normally shell out for it. Power Pro is the "best" braid but blue/green FX2 is the best looking.
  12. Yeah, pretty good rod for that. It's sensitive and not terribly balanced considering the price point. I fish 8-9 oz reels on mine and it feels pretty good. The carbon scrim or whatever thing they've got going on might actually help? I'm not sure. Looks wicked though.
  13. Don't tie a Uni-Uni. Practice the Alberto knot or another knot designed for two different line diameters. The Uni-Uni works best with near identical diameters.
  14. Yeah I think you're going to cast off the 130 on 15 lb braid. The 90 will work well though.
  15. Sooooo if this kind of crap is going to be the norm, can we just skip the painfully long regular season and half the painfully long playoffs?
  16. Pre-ordered a Savage Gear duck. Quack quack. Also got a bunch of Owner soft bait hooks.
  17. It's hard to argue with Calcuttas, but Ryoga and I are trying.
  18. Slimy R-Edition with SV spool
  19. Two ways to go here I think. Go a bit lighter in power with a fast action, or go heavier with a moderate or mod-fast action. Lure weight and line type are also factors. If your budget allows, Megabass makes a lot of do-everything moving bait rods.
  20. Potentially not gross. I might be in.
  21. The stock snap scares me and tying direct seems questionable. What size snap are you guys using on your Slammers? Looking at the Owner Hyper Crosslock but I have to order online.
  22. The TT guys have been using Hybrid since at least the mid 2000's. They definitely have enough experience with it to write a review, LOL. Turkey, CXX if you haven't tried it. Really nothing is wrong with Hybrid. It's just sort of old tech at this point.
  23. Yeeah. Braid with leader has its place but it's still just a tool in the box. Tatsu is good but stretchy stretch stretch.
