Chatterbaits. But, I suppose that could be because probably 40% of all my casts have been with chatterbaits.

Keep calling them out, Harold. Like it. Every group I've been affiliated with or even aware of requires PFD be worn at all times. My local club won't allow pics on social media pages, if yakker isn't wearing his/her pfd....even if non-competition fishing

Sounds good. I'm certain there's lots of good long sleeve choices....as long as it isn't a loose weave. Like those above, I favor PFG and HUK, but that's primarily because I wear hooded shirts when sunny and hot and there's not a lot of options beyond those two

I catch them in Potomac tributaries using anything I am using to target bass, so no special equipment needed. If you were to be starting with nothing, I would suggest a 7' or longer medium heavy or heavy rod with a fast tip. I would get some chatterbaits, frogs, and swim jigs.

Apparently, Western Sizzlin and Sizzler are competitors. IMO, Golden Corral does a pretty decent job with the buffet. I generally dislike buffets, but the selection at GC is vast and they do a good job of keeping it fresh. Been years since I was in a Sizzler, but, except for the salad bar, the buffet was always rather sad compared to Golden Corral.

Resurrecting to see if anyone has developed any other sources for Reins' stuff. Funny....it's because TW is out of 6.5 scuppernong swamp movers that I googled and found myself. I do see an ebay place (toptiertackle) with a decent selection, but I've not used them....and, more importantly, they're out of scuppernong, also.

I was fishing deep bottom-oriented bass this weekend. I switched rods and added weight just for distance. Just adding 10 yards meant I could cover much more real estate. The trade off was that if there was any breeze, I needed a much tauter line than I wanted in order to feel bites.

Haven't seen a Sizzler (nor a Ponderosa) in years. Maybe the All You Can Eat Buffet business model in the US had some flaws? Then again, Golden Corral still makes it work

I don't target them, but catch a lot of em on bass gear. They tend to prefer the most expensive lures you carry....so PopMax and Jackhammers are good choices. Fish Grips are good, but you should also have jaw spreaders and a net.

Cant speak for anyone else, but for me, unless using finesse weights, my c-rigging is almost always 20+ feet deep.....anything lighter than 1oz...maybe 3/4 if glassy calm, I'd never feel much, nor know when I'm on the bottom

@bayvalle, how were you rigging it? I dont know why, but I cant hook up cutr reliably without wide gap. Despite the relatively slender profile 9f the worm, I do much better with ewg....and best with belly weighted ewg...even if only 1/16 oz. I generally have a cutr and a bug rigged if in or around any grass or weeds. (Note also that both of those baits will get attention from bluegills)

Not an issue, imo. But, we might better discuss potential issues if you describe your gear, conditions, lures, etc. For example, crystal clear water with ultra light rod throwing 1/10 oz ned is finesse. But, in my muddy reservoir, I might call it finesse when I throw a 6.5 inch Swamp Mover on a 5/16 oz shakey head.

What are we looking at? Was it used? Or out of package defective? If used, under what conditions, and for how long. I dont mind negative reviews, but I dismiss them if not fairly comprehensive. I've read a lot of recommendations for that line, so more info would be better for your campaign

That was my understanding for a time, also. But, lI've seen more and more on the interwebs in recent years about how cotton t-shirts aren't nearly as protective as I thought they were....could be sites being 'influenced' by spf-clothing manufacturers, I suppose, but I'm wearing my hooded SPF Huk and Columbia shirts (and long pants) every time out regardless

I, too, had some 'user issues' first few times out. The nice guys on Hobie Forums helped me out. (You are correct about the Hobie team being receptive and responsive.) I no longer have a 'rocking chair'. One of the primary reasons that I upgraded yaks this year was for a better seat. My old body in my old Wildy Tarpon wasn't good for more than six hours without really paying for it the next day. Turns out that the Compass seat isn't much better. Something about the way the front cross support presses into the ham/glute area -- it's like it was designed precisely to irritate my sciatic nerve. I now use a boat seat cushion and it makes a world of difference, but I still don't feel nearly as comfortable as I think I should. I'm also disappointed that they couldn't work through the patent limitations to get an adjustable seat, if even as just an upgrade. I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but not soon enough, imo. I also wish there were side handles and enough (side) surface area to put a Berley Bro bait holder on the sides. As it is, I feel that maybe they compromised a bit much on the seat, in the name of putting out a more 'budget-friendly' Hobie....which was still way north of two big bills
