Maybe a greater lesson than outerwear colors is that there may be significant value in letting things settle .....take a little time between motoring into a cove...or walking up to the water's edge...and making that first cast. That pause might be a few seconds on a busy marina-lined channel....or a minute or more in a shallow bay of an old, quiet mill pond. Maybe let them get a little comfortable before ripping a 190 Whopper Plopper across their ceiling.

Probably 90 percent of the time, I am fishing them one of two ways 1. Across top of weeds....ticking and or ripping, but usually trying to touch grass most of the way back. 2. Lots of falling....to the bottom...on the cast, and with exaggerated (2-4 foot) lifts off the bottom.

Things that will affect.... -wind -current -rate of fall the fish want -will they hit on fall....or do they need it sitting still for a bit? -action of trailer -your patience (mine isn't so good...I have trouble fishing very light weights in deep water...like a ned at 28') Nice thing is when you get a calm day and a drop that you are confident is holding fish....you can take some time and experiment Also consider...fishing from bank and bringing the jig UP the drop vs being on water and coming down or across a drop....can be challenging to fish dow steep drops while maintaining contact and feel

I use 18# Gliss with leader on all my spinning rods. I will acknowledge that sharp rocks and mussels are not a major concern for where I fish. Gliss was not a good option walleye fishing in Ontario, even with a leader. Wood and 'well-worn' rocky areas aren't hard on it. The castability, manageability, and sensitivity are unmatched, IMO

I share the sentiment, @Fishing Rhino. But I have to acknowledge that even Harleys had electric start fairly standard some 30 years ago. I still view it as something else that can go wrong....that isn't a visible, mechanical fix....oh...and, get off my lawn

As to flukes, I only ever use them unweighted. The erratic nature of weightless flukes seems to be what they are best at. If I want weight or straight swimming, I'll use something else

I went from 10 to 12, in order to get pedals....needed better seat, as well. But if I could have gotten that in a 10 that I liked, I would have. I agree that weight and out-of-water handling is huge difference

Let me start off by saying that I know nothing about the Villain. Until last year, 'best' Abu rod I ever had was a spinning Vendetta....which I love, by the way. I got a Fantasista BC (7'MF) last year and I really like it. My perspective is tempered by the fact that I paid well under $200 new. I wouldn't recommend it at $400....but at $160, it's a good deal.

Is a dynasty that lasts 5 years a dynasty? Not ragging...I really have little interest in debating the list(s)...mostly just curious. Seems that my pea brain thinks of dynasties as being somewhat longer. But I don't have a number. What is definition of a dynasty? might be a good starting point if agreement is possible I guess I can also get hung up on too much emphasis on championships....Atlanta Braves and Detroit Red Wings had runs that might be considered for such a list If so, then maybe the Pat's get on there too

I should think so. In fact, one season probably isnt enough. 'Jigs and plastics' covers a huge spectrum of lures. If you include swim and bladed jigs, even more so. Hard to imagine many types of bites that you can't cover aside from maybe dead-stick topwater or a very cold (slow) jerk bait bite. While working on jigs, dont sleep on finesse jigs. It can open a wider world of jig fishing presentations.
