Lucky Craft lipless have tremendous wobble on the fall...I was having a 1/4oz get demolished on the pause this weekend.
  2. @jimf, you didn't mention it.....but....did you have a banana in the boat?
  3. Your idea probably wouldn't work for me...my boat would be halfway across the Potomac before I even talked someone into helping me go get it

I'm good with either.....but my quote above came as he was skiing in a 2 1/4.....lol

Yeah....I wouldn't have even mentioned it.....had I continued watching...he dropped the lid, but only to pick up the balance and work in the other well. ------------------------------ I'm getting tired just watching KVD....he probably averages close to a jerk per second....alll.....day.....long

Is the state 'limit' greater than the tourny bag limit? I was surprised he put that in the well before pulling one out

I don't have any recent pics, I'll take a couple this weekend. Wife tried some glass door curios, but I like this spoon rack. Also, we found an old glass top table with display space below the top at an antique store that we use. Pics later....
  9. I like frogs, but jade and others more expert at the technique will be along shortly....in the meantime....some light reading: https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/frog-bass-fishing.html https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/frog_baits.html https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/summer-frog-fishing.html https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/frog-fishing-bass.html and when you get tired of reading...this one is just kinda fun
  10. What color are the worms in that can you just popped open?

I wasn't paying a LOT of attention, but I think they said he went to crank offshore while most chased shad spawn....

fascinating to me how long these guys will work a small area...KVD, Evers....these guys spent better part of an hour without moving 100yds and its not like they were sight-fishing particular beds

Also, please post pictures of your display(s.) My wife has tinkered with a few different ways to display my grandfather's lures. Its been very satisfying.
  15. I often like having a little bright red (or more likely, orange) on the bottom of cranks and traps. But, the predominantly red ones are generally not thrown much except in the fall. Only time of year that I've felt confident in them.
  16. I never used Vanish, but my dislike for Stren rivals some of the above hatred of Vanish....you've got a half dozen or more suggestions above...funny, but none of them are for Stren...and few of them are $40/spool....what's the question?
  17. I'm with @Team9nine....no reason to overthink this. I don't know anybody who would advise NOT to use PowerPro. Many have developed preferred other brands, but I'd be hard pressed to tell you that any other braids aren't only incrementally better for whatever reasons.
  18. What is 'recreational kayaking or boating'? I've seen people in watercraft without fishing rods, but always wondered "Why?"...."What are they doing?"
  19. It's still cached on Google....not sure whether this link will work for everyone....nor, for how long: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:mc4CbuTGMmAJ:https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/188085-what-is-the-texas-rig/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
  20. sounds like you're not trying hard enough ....I have just four rod holders on my yak, but have been out with six rods before
  21. I pitch a little...flip a little bit more....and roll cast most of the time. Depending on the situation (distance, cover, depth) I might refer to my roll cast as a flip...unless I call it a pitch. I'm all about precise language in most of my life. And, I see a lot of value in right words for clarity. But, in my mind, nearly all of bass fishing is more art than science and I refuse to get wrapped around the axle in such differences when it doesn't really matter to me.
  22. I don't get to Ashland all too often, but Green Top and Appomatox River Co. are worthy destinations! https://www.paddleva.com/
  23. Paul Russel of NJ. Has an ebay store, but you can bypass the middleman and contact him directly. (PM sent.) He uses quality hooks, paint, feathers. He will hook you up with your preferred sampler of colors and weights. When you get out there play around with different depths, speeds, etc. Some days, it doesn't matter what you throw if you get near them. Then, there were a few days last year when a fast retrieve at around 6-8 feet was the only thing they'd hit. Achieved that by tying a 1/8 oz dart on with long tag line, and then, putting an 1/8 oz inline spinner (like Mepps) about 12-15" below. The extra weight allowed the lure to get down quick, but stay down with real fast retrieve. Killed them when others were struggling -- lots of doubles, too, which is crazy fun.
  24. I still have my WS Tarpon 100 (10') and my wife has a Perception that's 9 and change. We have had them on Chesapeake Bay and often on the Potomac in gale force winds (not my proudest fishing moment.) We have never worried about stability in big water. In fact, the only time I have ever tipped, was trying to anchor in the rapids of a med/fast river.
