I place slugs in the bags overnight ..... JK I never imagined boiling, stretching, heating or anything else...(disclaimer: I will admit that I've crazy glued (and even melted) some on heads with lousy keepers)....TRD's go from package to hook....the stick worms get cut in half...knife or scissors...doesn't seem to matter...and then put on the hook

My answer a year ago would be different than my answer today. My bladed jig fishing came a LONG ways last year. I went from near zero confidence to having it be one of my best lures of the year. I got some good chatterbaits that vibrate at slower speeds (and have sharper hooks than I'd used in the past) and found myself in places where they excelled. I fished a lot of water last year that had skinny water between the top of the grass and the surface. Bladed jigs were the ticket and remained so much of the year. Spinnerbaits were more likely to get thrown when there was a ripple (or more) and there was more water column to work with. Spinnerbaits were also the more likely bait of the three when in and around laydowns. My swim jig fishing needs a lot of work. I have had success using them around bass that were feeding at or near the surface, but not so much in other situations.

I got one of those white Rogue's a few years ago...4 or 5....looks great....has yet to be tasted by a fish, however...draws nothing but water for me...I don't recall what the other exclusive lures were at the time, if any

I'm with you....I'm a little curious....but do I really want to take the chances of proving that a grandfather or great grandfather wasn't really? Or, have DNA in some sort of accessible registry and have the chance, however remote, of some child support seekers....or have it mishandled in any way with regards to some LE activities....No. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, by any means....but I am a lot more guarded about my privacy than today's generation.

I'm old and routinely living in the past....I keep thinking...just maybe....there'll be something to rival Terry Tate...or Mean Joe Greene....or even the Bud frogs....I'd even settle for a horse kicking a field goal...but, really...psychedelic avocados and recycled google home ads? miserable

So......since a single food source might come in infinite varieties....perhaps it doesn't matter at all what color I throw.... Or...maybe the opposite is true....predator are keyed on the color that predominates at any one day/time/condition....so I'd better have 89 different colors available to hone in on exactly what Mr. Bass happens to be seeing/eating right now.

This, I think, is the most important of your questions. I don't recall very many times when I thought, "Gee, I sure wish I could cast that another 15 yards" A decent distance with a cast, to me, is that distance at which I can put my lure on fish....AND be able to set the hook...AND land the fish...I don't see too many occasions where those add up to a cast of over 50 yards for me....at least not for the species I target, nor the waters I fish

What was the rest of the story? I"m not familiar with infisherman. However, explanations I've heard oft repeated support your statement, but don't necessarily imply contradiction. One of the more common explanations is that: -'bass don't shut down because there's a cold front; they feed less because many of them gorge themselves ahead of the front, and they aren't hungry so much after' I have no idea how true it is, but it could support both statements: "bass fishing is hard after a cold front" and "bass aren't affected by barometric pressure behind a front"

I hate it when replies answer a different question than asked....but I'm going to anyway....:) I don't generally trig roboworms, but for 'similar' presentation, I do use Slider heads - usually Snagless Pro and Spiders

I watched for the commercials...just lucky that it was a good game...otherwise would have really been a waste of an evening probably the worst bunch of SB commercials that I can remember.....skittles was ok...but not SB caliber....the Humane Society one was entertaining, but that wasn't even during the game....some of the obvious big-ticket commercials were total snoozefest

I have a 6'10' MF and absolutely love it. It's rated 1/8-5/8 and I find that it is extremely sensitive. The relatively short handle really appeals to me, and is a big reason that it is one of my most used kayak rods. But, regardless of the platform, I use it as primary rod for 1/2oz and under bottom contact (mostly rage rig and trig), but also for small hard baits - cranks, poppers, walkers, etc. Sensitivity is huge with this rod, but I also value it for the feel/balance. It is easily my most accurate roll-cast rod.

Last year I tail hooked a large carp from my kayak. Took me for quite a ride. Not a lot of leverage available. No clue as to the weight. I was barely able to get the tail alongside and retrieve my crank; let alone land it.

wow....no smokeless for me for past couple decades...but I won't/don't judge or preach...and I sure don't want to hear anyone telling me I shouldn't be smoking my cigars. It really is a flea market. Impossible to project what we'll find based on previous years. Some old...some new....most of the sellers have a good idea of their value, so few steals....but some deals, for sure. I'd guess there were about 40 to 60 tables there last year. Only one rod builder that I recall...lots of guys with used rods....couple jig makers, lots of old plastics and crank baits...quite a few reels that would look just as appropriate in a trash can as next to a 'For Sale' sign....complete range of 'stuff'.

My only advice is to get there early! Good deals don't last. But, on the other hand, there'll be plenty of less than good deals available right up until the end. The value to me is more in the meet and greet.

I've looked a couple times in years past without success. However, there was a builder at the Dale City Fishing Flea Market last year. Can't recall the name. But, the flea market is this coming Saturday and maybe he'll be back. www.bassfishingfleamarket.com/

I use these for shad, but I suspect there's some confusion.....the shad that I catch with these are 13-17 inch American and Hickory shad....not fish that I'd be trying to net with a cast net...not to say that they won't catch smaller threadfin or gizzard shad....I've never tried, so may be the ticket...idk

I've given up a LOT of hundreds of hours to fantasy sports over the years with mixed results....my fantasy fishing will have to remain the kind where I can't sleep the night before an outing because I'm imagining all the hot spots and hooksets....and then hit the wall of reality by getting skunked 12 hours later

Never modified one, but the floaters certainly do dive just fine. Great for running em at shallow depths when weeds are up near the surface. They are also good 'starters' to give to novices for using around weeds and wood. Not sure if they would be the best tool for a job requiring neutral buoyancy, though.

Kent, you're killing me....I'm still working on my crig, neko, ned, jika, ultraballfinesse, swingjig....never mind good old fashioned jigs and trigs and shaky heads....techniques...now...just what in tarnation is a jrig???

I don't think it matters, but as someone said above, if you ask me, I'll tell you I have 'go-to colors'....lol... I especially like the quotes from the pros...like Swindle in the video on p.4 of this thread: "They stupid fish. They live in the water. They react to their environment. The more credit you give 'em, the more harder you make the puzzle." Or, as @Logan S told us in his day with KVD thread, KVD was convinced that finding the right color on any particular day can be key...clearly that had nothing to do with pitching us all on SK products...he was trying to catch fish These guys fish for a living....to put food on the table, so to speak...I don't take everything they say as gospel, and I question motives sometimes because of sponsorships...but its clear that the jury is still out....and color doesn't matter except when it does to you....no clue what it means to a bass, however....I'll sit here with a straight face and tell you that I don't think color matters...much; but tomorrow, I might just as quickly tell you that I won't use bubble gum or methiolate...or that green pumpkin is always a good choice for worms...most always, anyway...I enjoy these threads, but until somebody catches that talking bass, I think we're going to keep guessing and the manufacturers are going to keep selling us hundreds of different colors
