Length Of Leader
Generally no longer than 30" - I don't doubt that longer might be good idea as far as the fish are concerned....However, for me, casting anything longer than 30" pushes the technique far enough into the 'frustration category' for me to not bother.

Brady??
A GM and head coach who shape a 'system' that isn't complementary to their QB (and other playmakers) wouldn't last very long in the league. Why wouldn't coaching staff and starting QB coach the back-ups to be successful in the same system as the starter? What IS a system QB? And if the QB/team is successful, what difference does it make?

Cabelas Sale On Pflueger President Spinning Combos
Solid reel and surprisingly good rod. I got this combo during a similar sale early last year and I like it a lot. If I had to do it again, however, I'd get the 6930 instead of the 6935. The 6935 just feels a little large for this rod. Not totally out of whack, but just not quite right.

Nflology
There is soooooo much sadness in all those words. I mean...you get to the Superbowl...and then lose to TB? That is just so very wrong.

You could easily wait until October to berate the Skins fans. I've said time and again, their best season is always from Feb thru Aug

Kayak Rod Holders
I'm a new kayaker, also. I keep a leash on my rods most of the time that I'm not using them. Maybe paranoia and I'll relax as time goes by, but I find comfort in the leashes. I picked up these and keep one on my paddle, as well. http://www.amazon.com/Paddle-Leash-Leashes-Total-Carabiner/dp/B00MXJFXOE

Deflate-Gate!
I'm taking some perverse pleasure in the whole thing simply as a fan of a team 'other than the Pats'. I do think punishment is in order, but I agree with the above. Overkill. But, of course, much of it stems from the fact that this is sports and fans are nuts. Fans of teams 'other than the Pats' will take delight in casting stones and being outraged --- but, I think that part of the reason for outsized outrage is that there are an awful lot of fairly loud Pats fans who are irrationally outraged at the outrage and.....well, to be honest it is fun to poke them

Thermacell Mosquito Gizmo
Someone here mentioned it the other day in the bug spray thread. I ordered one immediately -- should be here tomorrow -- I'll let you know. Bugs don't bug me much at all -- they mostly steer clear and bites don't persist for more than a couple hours usually. My wife, on the other hand, is a mosquito magnet. No idea why the difference. We can be in the same boat and she's getting annihilated by black flies and they never come near my end of the boat. Hoping this thing works -- not cheap, but Off isn't either...and I don't like a lot of things about the spray.

Snaps & Crankbaits
Takes me longer to change a speed clip or strong snap than it does to retie....I am not the most dextrous person out there, that's for sure. I can tie, but I have trouble operating small clips

Best Outdoor State
Wisconsin? I couldn't get out of WI fast enough. Maybe in consideration if you only look at June and October. I've only been in VA for five years, but I gotta admit, it has a LOT going for it for the outdoorsman.

Snaps & Crankbaits
When I started out some years ago, I used to use South Bend swivel snaps because they were cheap. I've seen more than a couple get bent straight. I don't use any snaps anymore, but if I did, I wouldn't get anything besides Spros

Spinning Reels
I (somewhat reluctantly) admit that it is better for line management. I have a very strong learned tendency to close the bail with the handle. But I now, finally, acknowledge that it I have a much greater chance of introducing a loop that way. Not so much when I close it by hand.

Never heard of it. But, I'd guess that photoshop would do the trick. I had no idea there was a PETA online store. Thanks for the laugh. That stuff is hilarious. I especially love the McDonalds shirt....wth?????? lol http://www.petacatalog.com/clothingaccessories/classic_mccruelty_unisex_tshirt/

Splizzors Worth The $$$?
I use my KVD split ring pliers and I can't, for the life of me, think why I'd need anything different - maybe something more compact on a lanyard around my neck? But for $10, I'm very happy with them. What do $170 scissors do that $10 scissors won't?

1St Cast In Heavy Cover
I was taught to always work outside-in. Thinking was that if you pull fish off the outside, you'll disturb the inside ones less, but if you cast to the heart and get bit, you'll have less shot at the outside fish. Makes sense to me, but I admit that it is quite rare for me to pull more than one fish off of a 'cover' - even if its a 40 foot long tree, I don't often get more than one bass. Now, I will say that my wife and I might get bit at the same time from one outside and one in the middle.
