Five Days At The Cabin Ii
The title is supposed to say 5 Days At The Cabin II not Ii... These are some extra pics from the same trip but from another picture taking device ... This just another pic of the same fish that I caught twice on two different days... Some of my sons other catches... That's one pig of a pumpkin seed. Check out the the double hand trophy pose... and his other bucket yap... After a good day of fishing... PARTY TIME!

I have to agree with you ff, and that's the only reason I shelled out the cash for the stake out pole. I don't mind diy for rod holders, storage crate, and even making your own kayak cart. Hell I made my own bungee quick release stake out pole tie off with float, and carbiners on both ends. Came out pretty good if I say so myself, but like you said certain things are better if they are designed for a specific purpose.

Five Days At The Cabin
A sample of my son's catch... These were all caught on jigs. For some reason they weren't biting anything else. Tried Spinner Baits and cranks but no catchy. I did catch several dinks, but the larger fish were all 2lbs plus, and that's one reason I stayed with the Jig the whole time also. I was catching size over quantity. Even the Pike couldn't resist a Siebert's Jig. This was my PB Pike Don't ask me how he got this whole jig in its mouth... Another... This guy had a little problem... Couldn't remove it, so I snipped it off @$$ close @$$ possible. He also had half an ol' rusty hook stuck in his yap so I removed that to. Surprisingly it was a healty looking fish. Caught this guy twice, on two different days, at the same spot. An aggressive striker both times. Day 1 Day 2 And here is the biggest of the lot... A 3lb football. Caught him under an old floating dock. he nearly ripped the rod out of my hands.

Kayak Boat Control
I was in the same boat er, kayak as you. I ended up buying the Yak-Gear Deluxe Anchor Trolley, and 3lb grapnell anchor kit. I also just ordered the 6ft Yak-Gear mud pole. Preferable you want to attach the anchor at the front or rear of the kayak because you can tip over if the current is strong enough if you tie the anchor or stick up pole off on the side of the kayak. That's why the anchor trolley is so great. You can tie off to the trolley and you can slide it front to rear without having to reach. With the mud pole you can tie off to a pad eye on the kayak, but with the trolley you can stick it through the loop or attachment ring. They say not to put it thru a scupper hole because it can cause premature wear our stress on the scupper hole. The 3lb Anchor kit comes with 30 feet of line, and works great. I haven't used it on my kayak yet, but did use it on a 12ft Jon boat last weekend and it held to everything, mud, silt, rock and stumps. A lot of guys store the anchor in their create or stick it in one of their flush rod holders behind them. You can secure the stake out pole on either side of your kayak where you secure your paddle, but the Mud stick from Yak-Gear comes with mounts you can install on your kayak.

Cuda 12 Vs Kilroy
Demo is always the best way to decide. I drove over a hour to demo my yak before I bought it.

This was the only Hawg I caught this past Saturday.... I know sad. Caught on a Siebert's Sunfish swim jig with a green pumpkin Rage Tail Menace. Did have a few short strikes, and hooked a Pickeral luckily that came off by it self at the bank.

I Almost Hooked A Beaver.. Lmao
They are always ticked at me for standing on there house. They would come out and slap the water with their tail. It's not my fault their habitat is a prime bass attractant, and there are some big gurls hanging out.

quote name="rippin-lips" post="1779768" timestamp="1432850161"] For sure. It's a nice boat. I was just curious. I got a 2014 115x for $999 plus $99 shipping. Came with a paddle, zooka tube rod holder, trolley kit, and 3lb anchor. I upgraded to a bending branches angler classic paddle for another $50.

Nah, I tried. I asked if they had any hold overs, but they had sold them already. I got the Lure for $1149, the 115X was $200 more and if I included the Paddle and pfd I would of been way over budget. I was also looking into the Old Town Predator XM that was in my budget but they were sold out. I did get a pretty good paddle and a good pfd. New Jersey Paddler has every brand, and they were the only place closest to me that let you demos, and they were an hour and fifteen minutes away. It was worth it cause I'm very happy with my Lure.
