  1. When I heard about this first thought, 3 or 3-1/2" mag, steel or lead shot??
  2. I wouldnt mind just having a DD spinoff chronicling Phil, Si, Goodard and Jaces everyday life....Those guys make the show... The worldy wisdom from Si is second to none LOL
  3. In the order of what my funding looks like, low to high, Makers, Knob Creek, Blantons....Straight up on some stones, with a good ol Yuengling behind it.
  4. The T3 ballistic 100HSL, even though I got it for a good price, the retail of it you would assume it would have changeable knobs...Oh well got the confirmation the Hawgtech handle will fit the T3 Ballistic so that'll be next on the list...
  5. Received mine in today, gotta say its looking and feeling pretty good, got it all spooled up and ready to go for the weekend. Only complaint so far is, why are the knobs riveted on? They def gotta go...
  6. Ill go with this post, novice here mind you. Any bass for me puts a smile on my face, but this upcoming year top 3 suggestions... 1. Learn and fish the cover better 2. Watch the barometer, best of my luck has been pre storm fronts, including my PB. 3. Read, read and read some more, never know the littlest piece of info could put your PB on the hook. and though all of that, have a little luck on your side doesnt hurt
  7. Lol thankfully the concorde trunks are bigger than some of the newer cars out there. It was a lil bit of a tight fit but I dont think he minded
  8. Thanks guys. Def my PB so far. He came in the same way the other one did and I was geared up and ready for him, not as wide as the one I saw a few days ago but Im not complaining!!!
  9. Lol I just ordered mine for a Christmas present, it should be here on Friday. Read good reviews and I figured couldnt beat the price!!
  10. Title says it all!! Patience paid off!! First morning light has 2 does creepin around then the big boy decided to try and sneak on out. 9pts dressed out at 150lbs
  11. Well its nice to hear Im not the only one!!! These squirrels are driving me nuts though!Lol.... It is weird how bucks just show up, like they know when we arent expecting them! I know i cant eat the antlers and so on but like you retiredbosn, I want the antlers on my wall!! But alas there was relief yesterday morning, a few does but I heard two bucks scrapping it out so they are still there, think Im gonna give the grunt a few tries myself this weekend and see what happens, plenty of season left.. Thanks for the words guys!! Good luck to all!!
  12. A story of complacency- Sunday morning around 1030, starting to get chilly, rifle between the legs propped up against the rest, have yet to see anything other than the 3 dozen squirrel running around. Starting to crave some coffee and sandwiches, all the while daydreaming.....then it happens...Look to my left, a spot where he shouldn't have showed up but he did, never heard him come in(d**n squirrels barking). At first all I saw was antlers, like buck of a lifetime set,not a state record but a record for most any hunter, slowly I start pulling the rifle up all the while my heart is pounding so fast and my breath looks like a steam locomotive at full throttle. As soon as he steps out from behind the tree I have the rifle nearly to my shoulder and he spots me dead on,get my eye to the scope and all I see is Mr.Buck waving his white flag into the brush. Ok well that sucks, big time, adrenaline pumping with no release. Huge letdown, kicking myself hard, I give my self some reassurance that tomorrow is another day....5 mins later, BANG, neighbors on the backside of the property took a shot, now if it was him? Not sure, more than likely though... All I do know is that will be my last time I get complacent, you never know when and where it will happen....Lesson learned the hardest way.
  13. Took me 15yrs to bag my first buck, which was last year. Still went out every year! Remember, while your slowing your hunt down to also enjoy your time out there, luck will eventually be on your side! Good luck to ya also and may the luck be with you this season!!
  14. With that being said ^^^^, and not being there to hear the problem myself, I would without a doubt get a few more opinions...
  15. Agreed. There are quite a few things that would lend to that issue, I would never put the cam as a problem. Sensors, valves, bearings, there is a multitude of things that could be knocking, or causing the knock.
  16. All day, everyday-work permitting that is!! Weather has no influence, rain or shine, as long as there is no lightning, Ill be fishing..
  17. Not trying to hijack here, but Ive always wondered why this is the case? Ive always figured it was opposite, lighter lure easier to see in darker water and vice versa... Now since Ive come to this forum I do it traditionally, with success, but def not understanding why.
  18. Practicing skipping jigs at the local park a few weeks back hooked into a big ol snakehead... First and only jig fish so far.
  19. Fishin the chrome rattle trap crank low and slooooow..... tried quite a few things, this has been my only lure thats been consistent. Water temps holdin steady @ 55+/- with sunny days being the most productive.
  20. Ive been using a 3/8 rapala rattle trap lipless in chrome almost exclusively the past week, nothing huge but alot decent ones, and of course the typical pickerels are killin it...
  21. In between fixing up and working on stuff around the house (I neglected because I went fishing instead!!) Ill do some hunting and some pickerel fishing. I have yet to see frozen water since I moved here 4 years ago.
  22. I agree, alot of hard working people have came here, legally and illegally and have worked hard and help keep this country sustained. I just dont understand why the border is even there? Lets just save all the resources and possibly stop all the killing/drugs/guns that are coming over the border. If Mexico would let our goverment step in more than it already has then maybe people on both sides of the story would be more willing to stay there and we would be more willing to move there. Just my .02 i know the USA isint one to take over a country but if its the best for both parties involved and more and more of the population is coming across the border then why not? Plus I hear the fishing is pretty spectacular so if it became a district of America Id sure think about moving there...Plus they have lots corona and lots of tequila!!
  23. I hit craigslist when I wanted to get off the shore, 300 into the canoe, another 250 into the motor/battery and alot of redneck ingenuity and Im now good to go.... A fishfinder/sonar and outriggers in the future but for now I can hit everything from a flooded drainage ditch to the bay, and everything in between... Eventually Ill get into a bigger boat but I know I can always go back to the canoe for the smaller water...
  24. Understandable, I can see it getting off topic, but just felt the need to share. Its not the first state to do so, but come on already, why are we wasting time/money/lives when its all going end up like this anyways...le sigh.
