Rebel Crickhopper and Bumble Bug
I have both. I love the grasshopper but the bumble bee isnt as good. Lands up side down alot and hooks tend to get wrapped on the line alot. It still works, ive caught counts perch on it, just a little annoying at times. I use the grasshopper all the time when i bring people who dont know fishing or are just learning. Mainly catch bluegill and perch but will work for bass too

Bucktails for the surf
I am trying to get into striper fishing from the surf here in NJ. Ive done some research and it seems bucktails are the way to go. ive been looking on line to try out a few brands but it seems most sites only have vertical jigging bucktails, eyelit on the top versus being in front. Does anyone have any suggestions of brands/where to buy from online? I know of some local tackle stores but their inventory is very limited.

Florida Fishing Trip, Minimal Tackle
In two weeks i will be going to Naples Florida. I am flying there so can only bring my travel rod. A 7'11" h citrix 4-piece rod spooled with 50lbs braid and need to severely limit my lure selection. I will only be fishing the canals around the house when i get a free minute What baits would you suggest i bring? Right now i plan on getting some weights 1/4, 3/8, 1oz. Flippin hooks. 1 bag of trick worms, senko, beaver style bait, and a frog. I've never fished Florida or canals so any advice will help, Thanks

Gamma Fluorocarbon?
I use the gamma touch in 5 lbs test for my UL set up. At first i hated it was so thin i kept breaking it while tying knots. Now i make sure its nice an wet when i tie and love it. Dont recall ever breaking off and i almost exculsivly split shot with this set up and crimp a split shot to it. and for a fluoro its pretty managable with some conditioner. Sensitivity is what u expect for flouro. It does have some stretch to it but nothing close to a mono id say average in terms of fluoro

Best telescopic rod for snook
I am in the same situation. Im going to flo in april and didnt want to travel with a full rod. Went With the okuma citrix 4 piece travel rod for 100 bucks. Looks like a good rod but havent used it yet. But the best part is it comes with a nice travel case already no need to buy seperatly. i went with the 7'11" heavy and will have it as a pier/inlet fishing rod. Please note, this is a casting rod, dont know if okuma makes a spinning version, never looked.

Enigma Rod Blanks
I have been looking into the new enigma arron edge spinning rods, like the foregrip look and the microwave guides. There aren't too many reviews on them so i have been doing my own research. Does anyone have more info on their blancks they use? All i can find is that they are high strain jap carbon fiber, and I dont really know how to interpret this. Not looking for reviews just some thoughts/info about their blancks thanks!

How many times have you lost a brand new lure first cast?
I call it "First Cast Syndrome". For some reason my first cast is always a gamble whether it be getting a birds nest, getting snagged, or losing a lure. So what i do now is my first cast with a new lure is always a short cast to open water. Ive found this helps a ton, because now i get a feel for the lure, its weight n flight so i can be more accurate when i actually cast.

Castaway Skeleton v2... Thoughts?
Ive had my eye on the castaway skeleton v2 since it came out. Im not one to jump on a new product, want to wait for some feedback first. Its been out for some time now and i cant find much info on it. Has anyone fished these rods? i would like to invest in something a little nicer this year (only spend about $100 on rods currently) and the fact that the skeleton v2 is a rainshadow rev blank is quite tempting. (But its only 30 ton graphite i recently foundout) my main concern is that the lower budget rods are so competitive the are incorporating higher end components and the jump from a $100 rod to a $190 isn't that big. I could be wrong on this just my thoughts

1/4Oz T-Rig Rod
Looking into a rod to handle primarily 1/4oz t rigs to pair with my Curado I. Im looking at 7 foot MH fast or extra fast, seems to be the best fit for this application. As of now im planning on getting a thirteen n-y 7'1 mh xf for this application. Ive read they fish heavier then their rating. If youve used this rod could u let my know ur thoughts? Feel free to post what you use for this application as well if you have no experience with that particular rod. Thanks!

Different Brand Or Sticking With What You Know, Suggestions?
I have three combos i use, all different rods and reels. I am looking into a new combo. Would you suggest trying new brands/models or sticking to which ever is my favorite of the ones i have? Im not looking for rod/reel suggestions just your thoughts on whether trying a bunch then picking ur fav brand is worth it. Or just sticking to what you already have experience with. Keep in mind for me its only been 3 quality combos Just looking for your thoughts or past experiences Thanks

So Crazy Question
I just bought a FF but prior to that needed to do it blind. The way I did it before and still do time to time is look for a map online or watch where boats are going (ones with depth finders) then tie on a Carolina rig with a super sensitive rod and find what you saw on the map or what those boaters were looking at. It takes some time but it will pay off.

Ff Worth It For Shallow Water Lakes?
Hey. I'm from nj and typically fish water that doesn't get much deeper then six foot deep, on my kayak. Almost all the fishermen around here just beat the snot out of the bank, all day, all year. Since I fish shallow smaller lakes would a FF be worth it? What I do now to find spots, other then the bank, is watch where boats with electronics are going. Then I'll throw on a Carolina rig and see what they may have spotted on their FF, with mediocre results I can get the elite 4x chirp for 125. Is this worth it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Spinning Vs Casting Rod Quality
Hey has anyone ever notice any difference, quality wise, between the same series rod, spinning vs casting? This came up after looking at reviews, the casting version had overwhelmingly positive reviews but the spinning had very mixed. Not sure if there were just more reviews one way or the other to sway me into thinking this or what. I understand this may vary be brand and series but just as an overarching theme, do casting rods and spinning rods of the same series vary in quality?

Torn On Casting Rod For 4" Weightless Senko
My favorite set up I currently have is a 13 *** on a med 7 1 *** black with 30lbs braid. This is solely used for 4 inch senkos. Can't beat the price on the rod n just replace the reel with ur pq and ur ready to go

No Slack Senko Finishing
Thabks for all the replies. I guess I'll might spool up one rod with flouro and compare from there One more question regarding line watching do u watch the line floating on the water. Or the bow out of the water. Or right near the rod tip. Or is this just over thinking I'm asking because a slight breeze/current really moves the line n confuses me
