  1. What bassassasin said.
  2. On a few occasions I have made it a point to post in my region's forum that I had an extra seat in the boat on a fishing day. I fish alone most of the time as most of my buddies are Fly Rodders and they don't like to fish the same way I do. Every time I have posted though, no one has taken me up on the offer. So, I stopped asking.
  3. Get direct TV and you'll get to watch them on The Outdoor channel.
  4. I've had my Boat for over 6 Years. I bought it new and Knock On Wood, other then routine Maintenance, I haven't had an issue.
  5. It's Friday and I have had my fingers crossed for you all day Abel. ;D What's the verdict?
  6. I hope the boat is ready tomorrow also, but after being on the receiving end of a raw deal with a dealer myself, I wouldn't hold my breath.
  7. I had this maintenance done to my boat already. I had it done in early Spring. I was just wondering if it is feasable for a guy to do it himself.
  8. The cover never goes on when the carpet is wet.
  9. I forgot to mention that the deck is covered from the factory with an all weather carpet.
  10. Only reason I ask is that I had mine done for the first time in 7 years on my boat. It was due. The labor costs were ASTRONOMICAL!!! Anywho, I know that to replace an impellar on an outboard motor, you have to drop the lower Unit. Now, I have some mechanical skills, but I don't know if I am confident enough to tackle dropping the lower Unit. Anyone here do this themselves? If so, how mechanically inclined does someone have to be to tackle this type of routine maintenance?
  11. Awesome find on a Damned fine fishing boat!!! That boat will get into places that makes the larger Fiberglass boats wet themselves. :-? As far as the Preventive Maintenance on her, I would at the very least put in new plugs, new plug wires, new fuel filter, change the Lower end oil and the motor oil, and also replace the impellar. I know it sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. Do it yourself and save yourself a boat load of money in the process. Once again, Great looking boat and also a Great find!!!
  12. How does water effect the deck of a boat? The reason I ask is that when I store my boat, I make darned sure that the cover is on. When I go fishing and I get caught in a rain storm, my heart breaks when I see how wet my deck gets. I have a 2000 16 Ft. Sylvan Explorer (Aluminum Hull) with a 40 HP Merc on it. I know that the deck is made of Pressure Treated wood, but I still hate it when the decking gets wet. I always let it dry out throughly in the sun after it gets wet without the cover on. Am I being to anal? Will the Pressure Treated wood take more abuse then I think? It's at the point where I don't even want to fish in the rain due to the fact that I don't want to ruin my boats decking.
  13. I have that dilema for tomorrow. I hate fishing in the rain becasue I hate it when the deck of my boat gets wet (Hey, I'm a little anal about my boat, kay? ). We have had torrential down pours throughout the day today, and tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same. So, when I wake up in the morning, if it's not raining, I go fishing. Also, I have no rain gear to speak of. I'll bring my set of Gore-Tex Waders and a rain jacket just in case. If I get caught in the rain, I might as well stay out in it as it will be to late to try and keep my boat deck dry. :'( LOL!!!
  14. I'd work the edges of the lilly pads with a slow sinking plastic, then try a surface frog right into the lillies. After that, I'd concentrate on those sexy columns by casting about 10-20 feet beyond them with a Crank Bait and swim it right by the base of the column. I'd do this to all the columns and on every side of the columns.
  15. As far as Soft Plastic Colors go, I try and keep it simple. Low light conditions I use dark colors. When the sun comes out I switch to brighter colors. Don't know if this makes a difference in the size of the fish I catch. All I know is that I catch em' every now and then... :
  16. Gotta get to the dump. Lawn needs Mowing. Wife wants me to make the crib into a day bed for the little one. Should weed the front Garden. Need to make the back garden and plant the Corn, potatoes, Carrots, and Green Beans. Kay then. I'll start on all that...Uhm... well... The sun is out. Yeah, it can wait for tomorrow. I'm going Fishing. It's been like this for 5 weeks now!!! ;D
  17. Throw on a Hexangenia Dry, in about a size 4, and Hold on at Sunset!!! ;D Then again, it needs to be the month of June here in NH for the Hexes to be going off. Other then that, try a Royal Coachman... Oh yeah, you'll need a Fly Rod.
  18. Guess i misread the post. I was thinking that you wanted to Spray the Inside of the boat.
  19. The Weakley Bass had no shot at being the "Official" World record Bass. It was not hooked in the mouth. A huge Atta Boy goes out to Mike Weakley for being so honest. But, rules are rules.
  20. You're not alone Fl_fisher. I have never caught anything on a Senko. When it comes to soft plastics, I like to stick with what works for. That would be rubber worms and tubes. Don't get me wrong. I did give the senko a whirl last week. It lasted all of about 10 casts, then back to my confidence inspiring Tube I went.
  21. There must be a placard in the boat giving the Maximum Person/wieght rating. Get a number from the Line-X rep as to how much the liner will wiegh, then factor in how much you and maybe another 200 pounds. If it is less then the maximum rating, I'd say that you are good to go. If it is over, I wouldn't even consider adding the liner. Good luck and let us know what you do with the boat.
  22. Return it for a full refund and get a unit from a reputable manufacturer with a warranty.
  23. I've never had any luck with Chartreuse.
  24. Guess I am the odd ball here. I would have said something to the guy prior to him walking out on a 3 foot ledge, 25 ft. in the air, with 2 little kids in tow. I am a parent myself, and I sure as hell would not think about putting my children in that situation. And if I did, I hope that someone would call me on it. Just my .02 cents... Also, the 2 females that accompanied the guy are just as much to blame.
