  5. james river is not the best largemouth fishing, but catfishing is killer
  6. I fish everywhere from Belle Isle to Ancarrows landing and hit the banks or any structure in the river pretty hard with jerkbaits and cranks usually. It seems to do pretty well.
  7. NOVA Angler, could you PM me any spots around tech? I frequently visit my brother and we always head out to the New and as good of fishing as it is. It gets old after the thousandth time fishing it ha.

  10. i got a new outfit several months ago and its only been broken in once. and that was for bass at the local pond. i looking at heading out for a weekend trip or spend the day out in SNP, but not sure where to go once i get in the park...
  11. Does anyone do any trout fishing in the streams out by the blue ridge or anything? I want to head out there, but I have never done it before.

  14. I live very close to that landing, Short Pump, never have fished that stretch of that river. If you ever want to hit that part let me know cause I aint ever fished that before.

  18. If you find a school of stripers you are in for one heck of a treat. Those things can put up a good fight if you are on light tackle.
  19. most people overlook the New which is within a short drive of the campus, i got siblings at Tech and plan to go myself, but the New and Claytor Lake both produce. I usually throw white grubs 1in long and catch lots of little smallmouth, but I have seen guys pull out some big bass out of there with a little patience and the right presentation
  20. i do not frequent this lake, but in the few times i have gone, i have had pretty good luck fishing minnow baits or deep cranks around the islands by the main channel. i have seen people fishing umbrella rigs, but i myself have never done it. talk to the guys at the bait store across from bridgewater marina and they can put you on some fish. if all else fails, live bait!
  21. its a good time had. i been going for the past couple years and hadn't been let down anytime i have gone.
  22. hey man, I live in the West End, Short Pump area in particular. I know of several places within 45min drive from me that produce. If you ever need a partner PM me or chris. We usually are out more times than not!
