  1. I just slap mine in the bed of my truck and tie it down with some tow straps and it works like a charm.
  2. i dont have a fishing one either, but they work just as good, and you can use them for other stuff too which is very nice. greg, the yak is the best thing ever. i still have yet to stand, the water a bit cold to take a dip
  3. I caught my PB largemouth (in avitar) on a red and white chatterbait made by booyah. I may be biased, but i love throwing these especially in black and blue and red and white.
  4. I am not able to head out saturday, but if you wind up going out sometime next week let me know

  7. what time you looking at going out? i down for some fishing!
  8. Where abouts on the lower james are they pulling them out of and on what kinds of bait? I have never hooked in to a striper on the river, but have always wanted to.
  9. chris, where you looking at hitting up saturday?
  10. I have owned a pair of glaciers with the fingers exposed, and it certianly makes the fishing in the cold weather a lot more comfortable. You lose some feeling, but I would rather be fishing and lose some then be stuck inside fishing from the window
  11. My experience is that canoes are very versatile, and can be easily maneurved, but if you are looking to hook up a trolling motor with it; it would be best to get a square back canoe to make mounting easier. Of course a jon boat makes mounting a trolling motor much easier, but I find moving in a canoe very easy (not to mention easier to carry or lift). Canoes are a little less sturdy than a jon boat, but I never had trouble fishing from one. Just my 2cents though
  12. NewAngler, where you planning on hitting up? I heard forecasts of lots of rain on saturday... Is the forecast any different up there?
  13. I spent 200 bucks on Costa's triple tail with green mirror lenses, and have not one thing to complain about. After fishing for the longest time with the cheap ones from walmart, I must say these are well worth the money I spent. They are comfortable for all day wear.
  14. Biggest LMB was a 10lb 2oz back three years ago pulled out of a local pond on a red and white chatterbait with a red trailer. I was messing around with my buddy chucked it out there on his rod, he reels right hand i reel lefty, and played a trick on him making him think i lost the bait. He failed to fall for it, and i started reeling it in only to feel it snagged on something. I thought d*** there goes a couple bucks, but it then started moving and after an awkward fight reeling with my right hand, i brought a 10lb 2oz up to the dock! Biggest Cat was a 30lb flathead pulled out of the james river on some cut up bluegill
  15. I saw those hooks the other day and was very tempted to buy them and try them out, but after reading this I realize they aint worth the money ha. I, like others, will stick to my gammies as well!!!
  16. I still got another year until that would happen. I love fishing and always wanted to do something on the collegiate level.
  17. Only been selling eels, eh? Those suckers are expensive and i never seem to have as much luck with them as i do fresh cut bluegill or shad.
  18. you on the VA tech bass team? how you get involved with such?
  19. aint gotten the depth finder yet... looking at getting one after the holidays have come. may get lucky or so ha but if not then i plan on putting some money aside and getting one
  20. if anyone has an open spot count me in, if not i will bring my kayak on up
  21. if this acutally happens at anna, and i may end up making a trip up. i have yet to do any serious fishing at this lake.

  24. Thats ingenious. That helps a lot, because like you, I do not have a scupper. Does it stay mounted pretty firmly?
  25. does your transducer go through the hull? or does is it mounted within the kayak? also any good names for a fish finder? i not looking to spend an arm and a leg however
