in spring i have a ton of success with shallow cranks and squarebills. craw style cranks like the rebel craw work well, as well as rapala dt4's and rebel wee frogs. in general browns and greens tear up those susquehanna smallies.

im earmarking at least $500 for a trip to bass pro and probably use some more of it in my area at places like walmart, dicks, and a cool place called sportsmans liquidation. i cant wait!

got mine last week, thank goodness. my 2013 master catalog is pretty beat up.

improve on my topwater fishing and catch more fish than i did last year. i had a pretty good year in 2013 so if i catch more it will sure be a fun year.

amazingly this will be my first year shakey head fishing. i just picked up some of the yum pumpkin ed's and they seem like they will do the trick pretty well. im gonna try a bunch of different brands and see what i like best. next on the list is the mega strike shaKe2 pro heads.

i use naptha as well. i learned to greatness that is naptha doing one of my other passions, guitar repair. safe for all types of metal and plastic.

i use my '86(at least im pretty sure its '86) zebco 20/30 and 5'6" bass pro shops mean green stick a few times a year just for nostalgia. my dad gave it to me in '89 and its seen more than its fair share of fish over the years.

when first researching a new lake i always go here....fishingworks.com/lakes/ It has everything broken down by states and counties, has maps, and user comments(not all have comments but most do) i have found it to be a very valuable resource.

stockpiling and organizing all my tackle, cleaning and lubing all my reels, cleaning my rods, and learning as much as i can by reading and watching videos online. its a long winter here in pennsylvania so its hard to keep my sanity, lol.

Im looking for more people to fish with this coming season. i know a good bit of spots around here, plus a ton in bradford and sullivan counties. i dont drive but i am always willing to give my share for gas/other expenses as well as sharing baits and good conversation, lol. it would also be nice to meet up with others from these forums and have friendly competition with myself and some of my other fishing buddies from where i live. we go at least once a weekend from spring until fall and during the week i spend a lot of time at the susquehanna river. we try to hit up a lot of different places including as many as we can that we've never fished before. i hope to hear from as many people as i can.

zoom super fluke jr.(baby bass), zoom 2" panfish swimbaits(shad), smithwick spoonbill super rogue, abp spinnerbait, blue fox flash deeprunner, al's goldfish(neon blue), a pack of eagle claw lazer sharp treble hooks, a spool of 8lb mono, and 4 various packs of snelled hooks. earlier in the week i received some money as a gift and used some for.....zoom trick worms(green pumpkin magic), zoom z-drop(watermelon), booyah top secret spinnerbait(real gill), a couple excalibur cranks, booyah pad crasher jr, booyah poppin pad crasher, some shakey heads, drop shot weights, t-rig hooks and other various items.

i have several of my next combos planned out. Im gonna pair my newly won shimano clarus crank rod with a bps pro qualifier 6.4-1. A spinning pro qualifier in 6.1-1 on a 7' carbonlite ML(for very light texas rigs, dropshots and other various light lures). A pflueger president on a rod yet to be picked. 90% sure im gonna get a bps tourney special BC combo in 7.0-1 with a medium heavy rod. Lastly an abu garcia black max 2 combo for general purpose and as a backup. Tax return time cant get here fast enough.

yeah and if you use search and post in a old thread that fits your topic people get mad about bumping up the old thread. i just take it with a grain of salt. people get too bent out of shape over the small stuff. its like that in all forums ive ever seen.

im 95% sure im gonna go with the pro qualifier in 6.4:1 since the large bulk of my cranking is squarebill and shallow to medium cranks.

I wake up today to find out I won a prize pack from another site that includes a 7' shimano clarus crankbait rod, assorted jackall jockie topwaters, and a 300 yd spool of powerpro. Im still in shock because I never win anything, even on lottery scratch offs, lol. Now that I have a crankin rod i need to put something on it. What would you reccomend? I cant really spend much more than $100 since this time of year my work is VERY slow and dont have much money to work with. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

i use the 3607 spinnerbait box and love it. not sure if i want to get the spinner/buzz combo box, i dont use many buzzbaits.

I would like to see what you have that means a lot to you. Mine is a zebco 20/30 spincast reel on a 5'6" bass pro shops mean green stick. My father gave me this in 1989 after he had it for a few years. He had another one so we would both use the same thing when i was out with him as a kid. This is what i really learned on and used for a very long time. Of course i havent used this regularly in years but i still would take it our every once in a while. I finally fully retired it this year since the gears a pretty worn out. I couldnt even tell you how many fish this has caught, but the number has to be ridiculous. Im thinking of buying another one off from ebay to replace the gears but even if i dont i will never get rid of it.

Im getting one next season as a backup for other setups. It will be for general purpose but so you know i throw a lots of spinnerbaits, cranks, and texas rigs. I would like to know what rod you have yours paired with not only for performance but also for cosmetics. Thanks in advance!

1. Research the body of water your going to be fishing. Find forum posts on various forums, maps, ask locals, find out what natural things the bass feed on in that location, ect. 2. Slow down you presentation and stay on the water for as long as possible 3. Keep on trying, some days you just cant win.
