Denali Kovert
There is no question. I have fished the Denali's and Duckett's side by side and the Duckett is by FAR a much better rod.

Best Application?
Well, I am in another boat I guess. Most of the water I fish is VERY clear and I am a massive fan of Micro Guides. I Fish braided line for Frogging and Punching thick cover. I use fluorocarbon for everything else except Topwater baits, That is what I use Mono for.

Megabass - 2 Questions
I'm am a major Duckett Fan, I love my White Ice rods but when I post something I try to always tell what I honestly think and feel. I would never try to steer any one wrong. I bought the Megabass Orochi EMTF to try and it is hands down now my favorite Senko Rod. This Megabass rod is simply fantastic, it has the "IT" factor. I would tell you to not worry about the weight and just save up and buy it.

Bps Pq Or Daiwa Tatula
The PQ is a very good reel and at $49.99 it is a great deal but I think the Daiwa Tatula is night and day over the PQ and I would tell you if you are not on a budget to go with the Daiwa Tatula it is fantastic. MUCH better drag, it is smoother and if it matters to you it will cast a little bit farther too. The Tatula is well worth the $40 extra

Did you know that New England is being investigated again by the NFL? This time for letting the air out of Seattle Fans............... I would skip the VPN. You have to expose Windows and a port for the PPTP VPN server directly to the Internet, which is not ideal from a security standpoint.

Why So Many Setups And Tackle
Well look on the bright side. If something was to happen to me, my wife could surly find another man with all of the sports equipment I have. She could just go to the lake and take her pick

Sure I would and then I would update the hell out of the firewall and hope for the best.

Why So Many Setups And Tackle
When I was younger I use to dream of some day owning a big bass boat and running around the lakes casting for big bass. I grew up poor with out much of anything, back then I was lucky to have 1 combo from walmart. Fast forward many, many years of hard work and busting my tail on the job, while having a wife who worked her tail off too, children grown or almost grown and now I can have my dreams. I have so many rods and reels because I can now afford them, I'm living the dream. Boat has two rod lockers full and the spare room has at least 25 to 30 rods & reels combo's, some that have not ever been fished but the way I look at it is when we die we can't take all that money with us. I have it now so I spend a lot of it. I'm not very good at saving, that's what my wife is for.

Lew's Team / Team Pro
When I purchased Mine the Team Lew's was $279.99 and the Team Gold was $239.99. As far as I could tell they were the exact same reel but with Different colors. Later the Team Lew's was discontinued and the Team Lew's Pro took it's place, only to be replaced again by the Team Lew's Pro Z which I bought at $299.99.

Wright And Mcgill Victory Pro Carbon
There is no chance of me trying a Wright and McGill again. I tried the last rods and had three break on the same day they were bought only to return them on the way home and break two of the returned ones the next day. Some people have said it had to be a batch that was damaged in shipping and they may be right but I'll never give them another chance.

Aaron Martens Edge Rods
Well, At least Tackletour will be happy in their review. The rod comes with a rod sleeve. I always wondered why they knocked off points for a rod sleeve

From their website.... "Enigma Fishing was born in the primordial swamps of Central Florida — part passion, part business and all bass fishing. Enigma believes there are four kinds of fish: bass, baitfish (shad, rainbow trout, etc.), trash fish and the kinds you eat (Mmmmm!). We stand for quality, truth, justice and bass big enough to startle the catatonic. Some will tell you that you can become addicted to bass fishing — that it’s a disease. At Enigma, we know that the poison’s the cure, and we want all the poison we can get. To that end, we are absolutely committed to making the finest bass fishing products you can buy anywhere and at any price. The best fishing tools don’t have to be the most expensive; they just have to be the best. Today we make rods, and we’ll be adding lots more basstastic stuff soon — line, sinkers, lures and more. If you’re not excited, you should be. Enigma’s going to change the way you fish. Just follow the directions on our products: Cast. Catch. Repeat."

Is Enigma a Bass Pro Shops brand? I need to go look them up because I do not know this company but it seems like I remember seeing a Enigma reel at BPS. I mean after all it isn't like I already fish a solid White fishing rod any way............

Denali J2
Well, I have mixed feelings on this one. I fell for the hype last year and bought a Denali Kovert 7'8" X-Hvy flipping stick, sight unseen, my normal rods, which I love are Duckett White Ice models and I flip with a 7'9" X-hvy White Ice, When my Denali Kovert came in I was pretty upset I just spent the money on it. It was VERY heavy, unbalance and VERY tip heavy. I was not happy at all. Compared to the duckett it was like picking up a tire tool when you were use to holding a pencil. While out on the water one day I wanted to start flipping buck brush and once I went into my rod box, I remembered I had loaned out my Duckett and the only rod in the box was the Denali. I took it out and went to flipping. After fishing with the rod that day and hooking a few good fish, I must say, I like the rod a lot better. Yes, it is still VERY heavy but the blank is nice and it has a soft tip that load's up well. This one trip made me keep that rod and I now use it to fish with some. It still isn't close to my regular flipping rod but if you can find it for $100 like I did, I would say it is well worth that price.

Are The Expensive Rods Really Worth It?
Buying much better gear did not make me a better fisherman but it sure made me want to go fishing a lot more.

Powell Inferno 7' 2" Mag Heavy
I have not used that exact Rod but I did want to point out that the line guides may not be the best choice for Frog fishing with Braided line. You may want to study a little on it before buying. If you do not use braid then it should be fine. Good Luck

Rods Comparable To Dobyns 734C Champion ?
In My humble opinion the best two from your list are the Pennicle Perfecta and the Powell 3D. If I was choosing from that same list it would be one of those two rods. Please let us know which you choose and then after fishing with it let us know how much you like it. I always enjoy hearing what others think of the fishing equipment they use. Good Luck.

Rods Comparable To Dobyns 734C Champion ?
http://www.alxrods.com/ The Zolo is a fantastic Rod. There are a lot of good suggestions on here. The Kistler KLX is great also but I worry a lot about Kistlers warranty.

Curado D Series
I have and use four Curado D's and they are built like a tank and very nice reels. They are still going strong.

Best Mono For Bottom Contact
I'll be honest I'm surprised, I thought you would say Vicious Fluorocarbon. Having said Invisix Then my opinion would be to switch to Mono. There are better Fluorocarbon lines but at a larger price, Invisix is very good line.
-
Best Mono For Bottom Contact
I also would be very interested in which Fluorocarbon line you used? There is a big difference in Fluorocarbon and Mono for bottom contact baits. Maybe some of us could steer you towards a better Fluoro and you could maybe try it one more time? Sunline Defier Armilo is fantastic line and it has very little stretch. If you want the best Mono then this is most likely it.

I'm Becoming A Gear Head... Help!
It is a vicious cycle. I got onto the Rod kicks years ago and I've went through some cash, I just got this itch that I couldn't scratch. I had to try all of the different brands of fishing Rod's. Now with a spare room full of rods and reels I'm now getting the itch to try reels the same way and buying a ton of those. At last count I think I have 19 Duckett's alone and that's not counting the 15-18 other brands I have bought at least one of, some more, just to compare. It is a ride I wish I could get off of TBH. If my wife had any idea how much that stuff has cost I may be headed for a divorce. She is already upset because I believe in catch and release and she wants catch and fry. The best thing I can say is just enjoy the ride and don't think about the money.
