  1. I think it does give a edge, how much? I do not know, I have caught big fish on little baits, but larger cranks, and the salt baits, swimbaits, seem to give a edge, but one thing for sure, LMB...on what they will eat, just never can tell, spoons too, down on Kentucky lake, 2 oz. catch 5 to 8 pd. fish routinely , but I loose them, so I quit, not the loss of the bait, the constant aggravation of being hung up a lot... Gets old! That said, I now stick to average baits, Iam happy the most there! You should try them yourself , it can be rewarding
  2. Yea, Hi Salenity you're going love that 300E it's going to be awesome on you're rod too! Nice blades fellas!
  3. I am not a big fan of braid, but I will use it if, if I really have to...
  4. I agree, skip Big Game... CXX is superior
  5. Uh, what Raul said, I haven't used anyone else's rods/ reels/ since I was 12.....or Tools or their women, well maybe their women! No, no... Never ever their women... I am playing......

Not since the late 70's... But I have caught LMB to 5 Pds. On a roadrunner 1/8
  7. Well, I own and use a kistler Helium LTA.. Spinning the original circa, 2003.. I can tell you my rod is awesome, can't speak to the new one, I own a 7'11" Rage.... It's not you're classic St. Croix III... American made Avid is Superior, I have owned a couple of the original LTB rods in a couple different PWRs ... I wasn't impressed to much at the price, or what I gained over the avid, but that's me and those rods were bought in 06? They have been tweaked...In todays market. I cannot speak to the Dobyns rods.
  8. I have used 15 extensively, it's a tough line, you should do fine with it, considering scattered rock.
  9. Well.... I like the Silver! Lol.... There are several improvements in the I model.... It's a completely new platform and borrows a lot from top shelf Shimano Reels, of course not much wrong with the Chronarch E, except it's name, and that color scheme! Lol... Plus graphite Drag star? Geez... I got a chron 50 & curado 51 and I like them. But the I ? Blows them away, so far, so good.
  10. No, it would not be proper to do that, as has been said by the guys above. Just learn by you're mistake, and always do the right thing! Good luck !
  11. There is a pristine lake, I been to it twice, to fish... Heard all the chatter, but we were stubborn. The place around this smallish lake, was infested with copperheads.. Big uns too... I know of 2 places in south indiana where they are like that. Just hoards of copperheads. I have killed a few. Snakes sux! Wear boots guy!
  12. Yes I agree with everyone, Flip with it, throw heavy spinnerbaits deep, I believe you will be fine.

    Nice, healthy fish!
  14. I never broke a rod boat flippin LMB was I lucky ? I just never have... I started it in 85... Buku Bass flipped over the side of glass boats, Flipping. I believe Rods being lighter nowadays and with extreme feel, has contributed... I have to say in many ways good rods are not as tough as they once were.... Carrot, Veritas, the white carrot, Bps, even Rage rods were breaking like crazy so it's not just user error, but both poor product and I dare say careless use? It's always better to lip the fish or net them, in my opinion, with today's rods. Who knows, but I have seen a huge difference in rod breakage the last 12 or so years.
  15. I been there. I worked in Aviation for years as well, I tried to jump to helicopters and I just knew too much ... Long story, I wanted to go to Saudi Arabia under contract.... At over 100,000$ a year.. But it didn't work for me... Been divorced too, it is miserable mostly but does feel better pretty quick... Kiddos are hurt by it, they adapt quick, but they change quicker as well.. Learn Helos I think it's a great move... Good luck... It will work out
  16. I hate hearing these story's , however, there are also mega numbers of story's similar involving a single boat/ fishing, every year. It's just always so sad.
  17. Chigger/ Rage craws... The last 2 or 3 years, But I am really using Zoom Fluke Stick, Finesse, and other worm types.. No lizards, ever.. TRiged/ Rage Rigged, or wacky/ drop shot...this year heavily as in years past.
  18. Well I am sure a bag of those will be $15 a bag, BPS today, Senkos are over$ 8.35 + tax.... I am done.... After my current stock plus Kut tails no more, unless stupid cheap! Liking the Zoom Fluke Stick.... Not a senko, but not bad either.
  19. I still think Triple fish is a very decent mono not a nylon but Perlon slight stretch but it bounces back, doesn't deform per se ... Not as easy to find as once was, I have used it for years with smaller cranks and hard jerk baits.
  20. Wow! A new baby! That's so cool, Very nice fish as well, a very nice looking wife, a beautiful baby, and great fish pics, humm, I may be a little jealous! Nice post....
  21. That 12 pd... In Yozuri it's not the deal for getting depth with you're DT14, I love the line... 12 is fine throwing shallow squares in 2-3 fow... Try 8 if you like Yo..... Or plenty like FC... I personally don't throw it... But I am a Yo / copolymer guy. Silver thread is good.. Pline, Triple Fish mono, made with Perlon is good stuff... Of course try FC if you want and it's gonna get trashed quick. That's my opinion. Good bait thou! Good luck!
  22. I am not sure really, I have not used it, there are, as was stated above, as many hate it as love it. I want to pick up a couple in Gold Foil.... And try them... But I just have my cranks so dialed in I just don't know whether or not I would benefit from it.
  23. Wow, that's not good, reminds me of UofL & Kevin Ware, when he broke, badly 2 places his leg... I saw it and gruesome is the word. I had hopes for the Pacers this year, such is life
  24. Give 8 pd Yozuri Hybrid a try on baitcasting gear.. A proper rod.... And catch those fish... Even when everything is right, you will lose a good fish now and then!
  25. Northern Pike....
