    It's a bit lighter... 3/32
  2. It may not be a magic shad.... But it's very similar, I still think it's a lake fork product though.
  3. Made by lake fork tackle co. Live magic shad.
  4. Absolutely ... I have and it really complicates matters, good advice
  5. Enjoy the Forums!

Well not 1/4 but.... Owner twistlock 5/0 with cps and weighted @ 3/32 this works well Rage rigging got my stuff at BPS
  7. You guys are killin me with those deals, geez.
  8. I have killed a lot of deer... With a shotgun.... But I used slugs... 50 caliber rated.... Flat puts them down, coyotes with 00 or even 4 shot in thickets at 20 yards.... 23 yards that's the longest shot I ever took with a 12 gauge, hunting deer. I killed a 24 pd turkey with 3 1/2 inch magnum at 44 yds. I believe a slug still gets it done better, I think 00 buck is 30 calibur rating... It's good, but slugs destroy!
  9. I can only imagine, it must be special, it has to be special, I am glad to hear this longevity in marriage. So, I would too say congratulations. 50 years, incredible!
  10. A lower gear ratio will help you too,
  11. Yep, long time user here, but I use co-poly and Yozuri Hybrid too... A little FC.... No braid ... Yet.
  12. Oh so you think you may be content? Natta chance.... My shadow is the bait gorrilla and he is insatiable.... Good deals ? He leads me to them all.... It never ends.....
  13. Braid? You sure can use it on a baitcaster... I do not... I am old school though , seems most guys here like no less than 30 and use 50 too... Most folks like power pro or suffix 4 strand or 8 ... Hopefully a braid user can add to this
  14. The PQ and carbon lite rod is a solid choice for a beginner like you're self... Bps also will stand behind this product, is there a BPS close by you? There are other choices, but you asked about 2 different combos, I gave my short answer, there is the used market as well often times you can get very good deals on different makers of rod and reel.... The Diawa Tats can be had for 100$ and you got 100$ for a rod.... You can get into a good rod and reel at 200$ for a beginner. New or used.
  15. My choice is hands down the PQ and carbon lite , no question and no doubt. As you said also you can choose the rod lenght and action as well as the gear ratio you want. Of those 2 choices, I feel you must choose the Bass pro branded combo.
  16. Yea hopefully you get that record fish!
  17. The rods are not a Gimmick, the rod and it's construction have been around for Decades.
  18. That's a thick fish, with a somewhat small mouth, but thick bodied, nice fish for sure, it's amazing the difference in LMB from different parts of the country. Great fish and nice story!
  19. Monroe had tons of pads in the 90's state killed ALL PADS.... Patoka, has upright timber that's been flooded since the late 70's.... Weed beds using super flukes ...I always fished the upper river channels in 20 to 23 fow... With 7 to 10" powerbait.... Things changed after the illegal shad release.... The state countered with Stripers... I don't like it for bass,....crappie,bluegill and stripers are more fun to me... Monroe still has a good supply of LMB I quit going there too though by 05.... Campgrounds and other lodging seemingly impossible to latch onto.... I would rather go to Florida or Kentucky lake my self
  20. Well I will use Redlabel around soft cover, but rocks destroy it fast for me, I use either Yozuri hybrid or Pline CXX, in these line types, larger diameter is you're friend. If its working for you, why change?
  21. What FrankW said, pay attention to that and go do it,,,, he covered it so I don't have too! Lol!!!
  22. Are sauger good to eat? I have caught huge numbers in the Ohio river, just never thought about eating anything out of that river... I might also add I love flounder, and blackened rainbow trout as well, I tryed bluefish once, yea gross,
  23. I hear ya! They are overlooked rods at the price, but they are light, nicely balanced I like em too!
  24. Lucky, just plain lucky! I really like those rods and at that price? Makes it sooo very nice
