Yup.. go with 6 gauge. Sorry but that’s probably why you’re having that voltage dip when you run your trolling motor, Tom is totally right. I pulled 6 on my Skeeter years ago and never had any issues for the 10 years I ran it.. Good luck.

99% I’m using Yozuri Hybrid. Along with PLine CX and CXX. I've spooled up two new Daiwa HD 1000 with 16 sunline shooter and 22 pound Daiwa Samurai which I do really like on my GLX F&P rod.

In other news: Smallmouths are being caught well on Kentucky Lake, including 1, 5 pound + (Open series) I’m streaming MLF, it’s rather boring. No power fishing going on. (Lake Murray)

When I throw a “smaller” jig, I usually throw a 1/4-3/8. I just trim my skirt way back, and shorten a crawfish trailer of some type or a chunk of some type and BAM! Works just fine when needed.. Remember the bait monkey never surrenders..

I’m certain that folks that haven’t fished in heavy hydrilla, sticking a 5 or 6 pound LMB and dragging out 12 pounds of fish AND hydrilla can’t relate. But I certainly can.. it’s fun battle for sure. It has an advantage, a whole bunch of people don’t want to fish deep inside a 1/2 mile stretch of heavy hydrilla. Less fishing pressure😉

10-4 I guess I need the spanner. I’m not converting the handle just yet, but these knobs are gonna be. Even if I wasn’t contemplating a change I’d want access to the bearings etc, I’ve got one and it feels like it needs a shim per knob.

What’s up with the tool to remove the knob covers off a Zillion HD1000? 2 new reels and no tool here.. I don’t want to mar them trying improvised means…🤷

Overcast w wind or current as some of us would say. Spinnerbaits, rattlebaits, squarebills or vibrating jigs.. in a 20 mph day with peaks of sun and warming water, a spinnerbait, no sun w rain, crank bait. or rattlebaits. That’s my style..

I always used an A C Shiner back in the day.. on a medium light spinning rod w regular stren (years ago) when I do throw a Rapala # 11 now I’m still going ML spinning or even a 7’ light spinning rod..

Using spinning? You gotta play these fish.. is this the balsa version? What rod action are you using? Need more information. I use to throw LC pointers on baitcasting gear, rarely lost fish. Same with Bomber long A. I use Spro now mostly when I’m throwing suspending type baits.

Totally agree, but I guess I’ll go a bit further. I don’t cheap out on rods or reels I don’t cheap out on hooks, weights and most hard/softbaits. But that’s just me. I love the sport. Even though I have slowed my roll somewhat, I’m still gonna pony up the bucks to do it my way..

Japan ships and delivers faster than ALFC. I live 90 miles from them and have been in there a few times. I’m batting about .500 with them. I don’t know what the difficulties are but they are real.

Same color as my Bantam ‘s less the colored accents. I like the silver just fine. Matches any rod I own as well..

I’d have to see that video evidence but I’m disappointed, I supported SM during this debacle, based on the info that was flying around. Now it’s sounding nefarious to me. I’m wondering if there is any honor left in this sport.. still, it blows my mind that Scott would seek out information on his home lake that he knows all to well. It’s a shame.
