Fish deeper water. Slow roll a big spinner bait . Go find clearer water to fish. I’m sure if you look you’ll find better water, otherwise fish deeper..

Interesting. But not surprising. I wonder if there could be health affects on those fish.. (as it pertains to FFS) Have you uncovered anything on this?

I bought 2 GLX models, the 892c JWR extra fast and 895c FPR .. I put a Met 100 HG on the FPR A Met shallow spool edition on the 892..this rod and reel combo is pretty amazing thus far. 🙂

I actually watched this and he had several spectacular birds nest. I think guys would be well served with the non DC models of the metanium, learning the spool control / braking characteristics of these reels doesn’t take long and would more than likely, lead to greater confidence and joy..

Hamner leads day 1 w 22 pounds. Hank Cherry is in 7th with Jason Christie in, I think 35th.. One poor soul is in last place with zero fish.

Bill Lewis Rattletrap is all I throw as far as rattle baits, they outperform everything I’ve tried. They still work even when moderately fouled with vegetation. I remember when they were just a couple bucks, now they are 8 to 11 dollars depending..🤣I’m gonna try the cotton Cordell again, put good hooks on them and give em another go.. even at BPS they are under $5.

I watched all of that tournament excepting 4 hours.. I saw him at least once follow a big fish with FFS.. some of those guys were chasing/following fish in. Trey was watching his screen throughout the tournament and if he says otherwise?? Yup, thank you .

Trey McKinney fished a brilliant tournament. Each & every day. He was in the zone he needed to win such an event. FFS isn’t a be all win all gadget. As an aside, when Rick Clunn won the tournament on the Harris chain , he was in contention on the final day. He was behind and he knew he was going to need bigger fish, he reviewed his mental notes (not FFS) and realized that his biggest bites had come on his 3/4 ounce spinner bait.. he committed to it all day, the final day and won the tournament again! (2016&2019) FFS will never supplant this way of fishing. FFS is a good tool, especially during prespawn when fish are staged like we saw during Toledo Bend, it seems some guys are gonna live and die by it though, kinda like Hackney and flipping 😂

Haha, I had one in Florida, I used it extensively and it was worth its weight in gold!!

I remember when KVD was a rookie.. people were talking smack about him, his age, his style.. he’d run that trolling motor on high and throw that spinner bait 600 times a tournament. It seems change is inevitable..

McKinney has this thing… what a tournament! 10 century belts today! Wow what a lake!! I think I understand Gmans dilemma, but he CAN invest in the technology if he wants to continue to compete in this sport. Or not..

Rivet seems seriously frustrated today.. not sure why but he seems distracted for some reason, poor casting, birds nesting etc. he does have five fish now, on jerkbaits.. Wong is showing the same symptoms as Rivet.. I think these guys are tired tbh..
