  1. stay back from the bed as far as possible and make longer casts this will help you not to spook the fish.Try throwing a lizard either solid black or white. Throwing it on the outside of the bed are work it toward the bed very very slowly. Pausing it and barley twitching it from time to time.
  2. I live up in NE georgia and the water temps here begin to go up about the end of april first of may. But that all depends on the type of weather we are having at time. The last copule of years the spawn has not started till about the first of May.
  3. Zoom brush hogs is one of my favortie baits. I throw them t-rigged and c-rigged. I have had better luck on the baby brush hogs durning the day and the brush hog of a night w/ rattle attached.
  4. Just like anything else practice makes perfect!!thats why i put down time on the water. I myself like to read anything related to bass fishing but i feel being on the water is where you gain experience and confidence. You can spend 10 or 20 minutes reading an article on a certian techingue or certain bait but you need to spend a lot of time on the water in order to make it work.
  5. i like the berkley trilene xl and the big game

  10. my favorite go to bait i use to catch most of my fish is a zoom baby brush hog in green pumkin or a zoom u tail worm in cherry seed. I catch a lot of 1 and 2 lb fish with these but have caught a few nice fish on these as well.
  11. In my opinion it is not fair to catagorize tournament fisherman or anyone else becuase of one or two bad ones.( First of all my club has strict rules against this type of behavior and we have kicked a couple of members out due to this type of irresponsible and dangerous behavior) On the lake I primarliy fish durning the summer months the lake becomes crowed with jet skis, water skiers and pleasurer boaters I have witnessed some them act just as irresponsible as any other fisherman tournament or recreational fisherman. I have a good friend who who works as a dnr ranger on our home lake and me and him was talking about this issue just the other day. On our lake we have a DNR law that states you can not run above idle speed within a 100' of a a boat that is not moving or a dock. he stated that he has more issues with recreational boaters than any tournament fisherman.

  14. hard baits rapala, bomber and luckycraft topwater heddon zara spook soft plastic zoom and yamamoto jigs booyah spinner baits war eagle
  15. i dont think the trolling motor alone will not spoke the fish if it is run on low and constant. I think that a sudden noise such as dropping something in the boat or hitting the side of the boat with a jig is as bad as a trolling motor. If you watch baitfish near the surface they will scatter at the least little bumping noise in the boat. Regardless i try to be as quiet as possible when fishing shallower areas.
  16. i agree with avid i am not really a spinner bait bait person but i do throw them from time time. I usually buy them depending on weight, and blade size/ configuration, and lenght of the wire
  17. i have had good luck with jigs and dropshot rigs.
  18. I always have a 3/8oz. black/blue jig tied on for flipping and pitching. I can make that jig as heavy or as light as I want, by that I mean I can increase or decrease the rate of fall very easily. If I am fishing in 3' of water and I want a slow fall then I'll take that 3/8oz. jig and add a big bulky floating trailer to it, and depending on the conditions I might even add another skirt. Now if I'm fishing 10' of water and want that jig to get down then I will trim the skirt to the length of the hook and thin out the skirt, I'll also add a small profile trailer like a small craw or grub. Using these modifications I could make a 1/4oz. fall like a bullet and a 3/8oz. jig slowly glide through the water. Jigs are some of the most versatile baits out there and with a little tweaking you can make them do whatever you want.
  19. OH NO I BEEN BIT BY THE BAITMONKEY today at wally world lol
  20. I would like to spend a little more time working with crank baits.
  21. I was just curious which new bait to come in 2006 do you guys think was the best or most productive bait. This could also be an old style bait in a new color or style.
  22. my son bought me a pair of costa del mars back beginning of summer and I love the best glasses I have ever wore
  23. I prepare the straight tail and i will rig these just like a texas rig except without the weight. When fishing these I will use varying retrieves till I can figure out what this fish wants. I have seen the fish that likes the real erractic action non stop and I have had to throw the bait out twitch a few time and let it sit in order to get the fish to hit. This is why i will try several presentations till i find out what the fish are looking for.
  24. i like throwing a zara spook
