  1. Braves are absolutely rolling right now and still the favorite to be World Series champs again. Doing this without their top 2 starting pitchers in Wright and Fried.
  2. Check out the 7’1” MH-F St. Croix Victory. That’ll make a good jig stick for you. If you want something more budget friendly, check out the Mojo. I don’t believe the Victory is as better than Mojo as the price difference suggests.
  3. I find the exact opposite to be true.
  4. Sometimes I want cheap pizza that’ll be here in like 30 minutes. Domino’s pizza has gotten a lot better over the years, and I actually love their sandwiches. Same reason I’ll sometimes grab a Wendy’s burger when I don’t feel like spending $37 and waiting 25 minutes at Five Guys. Now I’m hungry.
  5. Wow! And the same fish he caught last year too. Cayuga and the finger lakes are absolutely on fire right now. They also had a 6 and 7 in their bag and couldn’t even cull with a 5. I gotta make my way west of the capital region and fish these insane lakes I share a state with.
  6. Those anti smoking commercials that only consist of somebody horribly retching and wheezing and gagging. Good message, but holy crap my girlfriend and I are just trying to watch Ted Lasso! What a vibe killer.
  7. Some incredible sticks and even better people. The amount I’ve learned here can’t be quantified. And the interaction with other fishermen and down to earth folks doesn’t get better anywhere else.
  8. For cover that heavy ditch the MH rod and go with a H or XH, and just winch em out of there. Heavy braid will also be required for this.
  9. @TnRiver46 dang you’re on a roll
  10. Some minor restocking for chasing smallmouth in small rivers: Couple UL Pops, an XR-4 and a HJ-6. Strike King underspin and pack of Swimmers.
  11. My thoughts are that sometimes people who are successful (in their view or otherwise) at something feel the need to attribute their success to something in order to “prove” it’s not just luck. So they make up rituals or behaviors, or pick up on their own little quirks or habits, that sets them apart from others and then say “this is why I’m successful. I do X when nobody else does X, so obviously X is the reason behind my success”. It’s like Tom Brady saying he is so good at football because he doesn’t eat strawberries.
  12. I would start right here.
  13. A small popper? No. An obnoxious buzzbait? Maybe.
  14. We’re making lemonade from lemons. Gonna start breeding them. Corner the woodchuck market. Make a killing then buy a new boat. I really should be thanking the woodchucks for such a lucrative opportunity ?
  15. @thediscochef hawg!! Nice fish man
  16. One thing I’m learning as I get older is: you gotta make time for yourself, because it never gets made for you.
  17. @casts_by_fly nice detailed report. Fishing on smaller mountain lakes is my jam.
  18. Would I trade the life I have now to go back to this? Never. But I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t cross my mind every single day, all the fishing time and other free time without so many obligations I could have if I went back to my early 20s when I would fish, play, or work however and whenever I wanted without worrying about crap else.
  19. Ive 100% noticed this as well. The Ol’ Monsters just do not get bit like the Culprit 10” ribbon tails.
  20. I definitely suffer from withdrawal due to not fishing. I get antsy and irritable and start to not be able to focus on anything but sticking fish. I need to go at least once a week from April to December if I want to keep the withdrawal at bay. During the winter I go crazy. Bass are my drug of choice and they’ve got me by the cajones.
  21. @NJBasstard massive pickerel!
  22. Yeah I love wildlife. Seeing it, hearing it, I’m all for it. And even if they decided to take up residence in my backyard and were good neighbors that would be totally fine. But the destruction is where I gotta draw the line. And even if there were a non lethal way to evict these woodchucks id absolutely choose that method. But I don’t see it going down like that no matter how much cayenne pepper and epsom salt we use. Me and these wannabe beavers seem to be on a collision course.
  23. @A-Jay I can see where this battle is headed, so ill probably get started on one of those elaborate fences sooner than later. We have deer all over the neighborhood but so far they don’t seem to be interested in our backyard. It’s fenced in but only 4’ so if they really wanted to they could enter. I guess I’m lucky it’s only a couple woodchucks, because there isn’t much you can do about deer in a suburban development!
  24. I usually get cuts on my hands is what I do.
  25. Woodchucks that eat my entire garden.
