  1. What lake are you hitting? Can't hurt to listen to what lures he recommends using. Go have fun and catch some nice ones.
  2. My largest is 11lbs in my avatar and here are a few of the 10's I caught.
  3. Good deal. Gonna be hard to pack it in for the year with fish like that.
  4. Congrats on the win and nice chunks.
  5. I heard those same reasons why the bass were on the decline after I fished there. It's crazy to go from the Ca. record holder to not even close to the best lake in the state in that time span.
  6. My first visit to Castaic about 3 years ago had really high expectations knowing what came out of there in the past. Ended up getting skunked that day and the guide only caught one. It was January but still was a giant letdown.
  7. http://fishsniffer.com/index.php/2016/11/02/san-mateo-angler-shatters-lake-chabot-record-with-19-lb-largemouth/
  8. Nice tanker!. Welcome to the 11lb club.
  9. I live in the wrong state for as much time I put in fishing lol. Didn't catch as many big fish as I hoped due to some plans that changed . May be in the area in early spring to chase after the big girls again.
  10. Lower Otay. I was told about those giants around the docks where you're not supposed to fish. Should have went to just ''check it out'' while I was there on vacation.
  11. It was nice to get out on a new lake that was expected to be the next best thing. Expectations were high until hearing a few weeks before opening day of the average size fish . Tons of pressure isn't helping although it is slacking off as the days go by.
  12. Fished the big San V yesterday and had to work to find and catch them. Caught them anywhere from 20-50ft. I threw frogs, swimbaits, dropshot and dragged a brush hog along the bottom. Lost alot of lures ,hardware and fish in the bushes. Most were caught on the dropshot and they ranged from 1lb up to 5. Had to fizz one of the smaller ones caught in 50ft. Ended up with around 20 and was hoping for a big lurker to hit. Saw a few coyotes roaming around.
  13. If you're lucky by then you won't need a ticket to get in. I'll let ya know how my guide for tomorrow went.
  14. Nice video. Loads of bass in that one shot, they just need to fatten up. Couple more days till I hunt them down.
  15. I would have fished Sherwood on a boat Friday but my friend had an emergency come up. Fished Westlake from shore and got teased by 6-10lb bass for two days. Caught a 4 and a 5 eventually along with some 1lbers. A teener was caught at Sherwood in June.
  16. I'll find out in about 4 days how the bite is. I had high expectations prior to the opening but after hearing alot of results of smaller fish I'm not as hyped to go there. Gotta be some teeners lurking in there.
  17. Yeah a friend has access there . Fished it this time last year and caught 30 3-5lbers in 4 hours. Hoping some of the bigger ones show up when I'm there next week.
  18. Nice accomplishments for sure. Wasn't aware of the mixture of Northern strain vs. Florida strain in Lake Sherwood. I'm going to be fishing it next week hoping for some giants to come out to play. Last year there was productive.
  19. Nice hawg! Gotta love the big ones on topwater.
  20. It's hard to say. Some people I talk to say they have been stocking it during the downtime but not 100% sure. I wouldn't think they would but for most peoples sakes hopefully they did lol. As most know Ca. isn't like it used to be but there are still teener bass lurking in some lakes. Mexico is on the to do list sometime.
  21. Maybe by me at San Vicente in a few weeks. Hey gotta dream big lol.
  22. 24'' record is ridiculous. Like stated that length is caught often in alot of states. Iv'e caught em that long in 4 different states.
  23. Good deal. I have tickets for 2 days while out there on vacation. Can't wait to see how it produces.
  24. Good thing it wasn't a DD or the rod would be history along with knowing you lost a giant lol. Good luck , there are giants in alot of those neighborhood ponds. I found that out a few times on vacation.
