  1. It's a finesse worm it'll catch fish
  2. Once I hook the boat up everything else in the world goes away. All i focus on is catching fish and enjoying myself
  3. H20 express mettle it's the only good cheaper reel I've ever seen. I've got a couple and really like them
  4. A jig maybe? I don't even know and don't guess it matters. Might have been a slider grub on a 1/16th ounce jighead for crappie. Did catch a 5lb largemouth on 4lb test with that setup the first time I went out this year sometime in January
  5. I like the cheap academy ethos 7 foot crankbait rod. I've caught a ton of fish on that rod. I also like to throw chug bugs/sammys on it
  6. I like spots from clear fast moving water but I learned how to catch crappie year around and that's my fish of choice. I will blacken a stripe in a second though
  7. I'll stop and fish it sometimes right before dark or during the day when they are bedding but I'd rather be in my boat on the river
  8. I've noticed it in one pond in particular. You can catch maybe 2-3 fish in the first few casts and they shut down and you can't buy a bite. It's maybe a half acre pond so I think they sense something is happening. Because you can see 4+lb fish cruising but they won't touch a bait.
  9. I'm sure I've been that guy at times.I know I talk to much but that's just my nature I can make friends with complete strangers. But the main buddy I fish with fishes the same way I do. Both of us can catch fish and we've been fishing tournaments together for almost 10 years. We just about know what the other one is thinking by this point. But then there is "the guy" he had never done much more than fish a pond and he decides to buy a bass boat and fish tournaments. I didn't know he hadnt fished much before and couldn't figure why he was asking a million questions about what lures he needed or what I was going to throw that day. Finally after the third trip I told him just to let me look in this huge tackle bag he has there were two small pond spinnerbaits and a couple of little crankbaits. I started making him a list of basic baits to get and try that are almost guaranteed to catch fish in our area. The poor guy didn't even know what a shakey head was. I hooked him up with some shakey heads soft plastics finesse jigs frogs and swim jigs that I really like and the guy finished 15th in a 125 boat tournament the other day. I had to tell him a few spots to fish to do it but it's cool helping someone out like that. My major problem with him is that he wants to keep every dang fish that we catch. I don't mind someone keeping a few to eat but dang it there isn't any reason to keep 20 everytime we go. I just toss back everything I catch thats over about a pound and a half.
  10. I don't throw a spinnerbait anymore a swimbait or swim jig has replaced it for me. Swim jig in heavy cover and swimbait in more open water
  11. I like the netbait super t mac because I can shorten it if needed. It really doesn't matter though cause they all do the same thing. On the rare occasion I throw a shakey head it's got a zoom ultravibe speed craw on the back but I'd rather throw a heavy finesse jig
  12. Two guys in an aluminum boat beat our eyes out in a tournament throwing beetle spins. Big cold front came in and you couldn't buy a bite on a traditional lure but they'd caught 10-11lbs on a beetle spin

The only one I throw is the war eagle heavy finesse jig. I keep one tied on at all times. You can find them around $5 for two
  14. I guess I could glue it if it weren't at the bottom of the alabama river. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I just feel like If I'm paying that much for a crankbait I shouldn't be having that problem
  15. I've been catching them on the die dapper for awhile. They are hard to beat for what they cost
  16. Picked up one of these crankbaits the other day and within the first few casts the bill just fell out. Has anyone had a problem with these baits?
  17. I don't own either but I've never had any trouble out of a quantum pt reel
  18. I've always been a cheap azz I'll tear into one in a second
  19. The things you use to clip your dog's toenails
  20. They really aren't that stiff I can throw the tick out of a 1/4 ounce swim jig on that same rod. Are you throwing light braid?
  21. Are you having trouble getting distance or what?
  22. The Palomar is about as strong and simple as it gets
  23. You shouldn't be having any trouble with that mh veritas. The ghost is going to break probabky sooner rather than later. What kind of reel are you using
  24. Seriously? What could the reason be behind that?
