Struggling getting fish to bite...HELP! Italian frustration :lol
I wish I could help you out but I've never used a DS. If you have frog try making one homemade Teckel Frog. I caught far more fish on a homemade Teckel then I've done my last 7 years of regular frogging. I found a size 4 3 way swivel and original Teckel Sprinker Frog spare tail worked the best.

Struggling getting fish to bite...HELP! Italian frustration :lol
I'd try a Whopper Plopper 110. It just seems to catch fish even when buzzbaits and other topwaters don't. NED rig was something that someone else recommended that might work. Also, the fish may just be tiny. I fished my uncles lake and he laughed when I only caught one small one like you caught. He said that his lake almost has no fish in it. Ask around and see if people there catch a lot of decent sized fish there. Good luck! I've always wanted to go to Italy.

wind came up
When there is chop on the water I have done ok with the Whopper Plopper sometimes. Maybe because it floats you can go faster or slower than a buzzbait and that maybe what the fish want now. Or maybe they want it to stop and go. Something a buzzbait can't do. Windy days are one of the reasons I like the WP over buzzbaits and my old favorite the KVD Sexydawg.

Whopper Plopper
Good luck! I think you'll love them. They are mine and my bros new favorite bait. Fish just hammer them. I stopped using buzzbaits and my KVD Sexydawg because of how effective they are. There just aren't too many days when bass won't hit a Whopper Plopper.

Sprinker Frogs
Same. Definitely more success with my homemade ones.

Strike King Shim E Sticks Vs Senkos
Making Senkos more durable would be bad business for GY. Obviously if Senkos lasted longer they would sell less of them. I use this and one Senko can last for dozens and dozens of fish.

Sprinker Frogs
Funny, I just got an email from Tackle Supply Depot that they got some in. I will say I've had far more success with my homemade Sprinker Frog than the real ones. Both get a lot of bites but the homemade one has about a 90% hookup rate which is impressive for a frog. I've only caught 1 on the Teckel and it was a northern. Lost a ton. I like Spro the best so far. Im trying a Booyah Pad Crasher next because I have my Spro to a friend.

Whopper Plopper - Fishing coming off!
I think the Whopper 110 and 90's have some of the sharpest and stickiest hooks I've ever used which is why I normally get one in the mouth and another foul hooked somewhere on the body. Usually when I get a Whopper Plopper bite, it ain't getting away. I use a heavy topwater rod with braid. Like the above said, just don't horse them, maybe you are tearing the hooks out.

Fuel Gauge Not Accurate
How do you check the fuel tank visually? I can't see my tank even when I open up the back of the boat lid.

Senko action
Up here caught some of our biggest under docks and some as shallow as a foot of water. My friend caught his PB under a dock with a wacky rigged Senko. Little over 5lbs.

Don't doubt this at all. Color can change density and other things with plastics. Black gun magazines are great because they are tough and strong however you try to make green or tan and they can have issues with cold and brittleness and other issues which is why it takes a lot longer to come up with other colors that match the durability and toughness of black colored mags.

Whopper Plopper = Crap?
This is true I think. Also, if you push the two pieces together and spin it it will grind up any weeds that you can't get out. I like the 110 a lot better and it's all I use and it's worked great, my brother however loves the 90 and he's caught a ton of fish on it, so what can I say. He uses Loon and I use Monkey Butt.

Whopper Plopper questions
It's definitely not a weedless lure, but most non-weedless lures don't work well when they get weeds attached. I've found that on the 110 (and 110 only) you can grind the two halves of the together and it grinds the weeds up, or I can just pull them out. I've found that I catch the most fish on the initial landing and letting it sit or during a steady retrieve. Not too many on a stop and go, but I know that that also works.

Review: Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
I did bend them out. After that I caught the northern, which I don't think it would have mattered and had a bass on for a second. I can know I throw both into heavy slop but so far only the homemade one can catch fish in it. I still have faith in getting the Teckel to work. I would try the Spro for sure. Worked great for me. The other brand frogs did not.

Review: Teckel Sprinker Frog vs. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
I used a homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog for the majority of the summer and did very well. Far better than I've ever done with a regular hollow body frog. It's basically a weedless Whopper Plopper and how can that not be a winner? After experimenting with several frogs and o-rings and 3 way swivels I found the best to be a Spro Bronzege Frog, size 4 VMC 3 way swivel, and actual Teckel Sprinker Frog replacement tail. I caught a lot of fish, only had a few hit it and not catch them, and can't recall losing any fish on the retrieve. I tried Booyah Pad Crasher Jrs, Spro, and Snagproof Phat frogs. I gave my lucky Spro away so I'll be trying a Booyah Pad Crasher next. The Snagproof sunk as did the Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. This lure also seems to work well at any retrieve speed. Finally my real Teckel Sprinker Frogs arrived and I tried them out on 3 trips. I've found that fish go airborne for this lure, something that they didn't do for the homemade model or many of my topwater baits. Very exciting and thrilling, however the hookup ratio is deplorable. I've probably had 15 hits and only managed to catch 1 fish and it was a northern. I did bend the hooks out but still had a dismal hookup ratio. I also had a nice bass hit and got it about 2 feet before it threw the lure. Maybe the hooks aren't sharp enough. The Teckel Frog also seems to be very speed specific. One speed is best for it, not too slow or too fast because it won't run well. It does also slowly take on water and has to be squeezed to drain the water, something you don't have to do with the Spro. Maybe the fish are going airborne because they are trying to get the lure out of their area rather than actually attempting to eat the bait. Scores - Teckel Sprinker Frog: 1 out of 5. If it hookup all of the bites it has it would be a great producer. But it hasn't. Maybe I need to switch color or something. I don't know but it just can't seem to get fish onto the hook. I will continue using it, maybe I can see what's up. If I change color and if starts producing maybe the color was just off enough. Or I need to sharpen the hooks. Homsmade Teckel Sprinker Frog: 5 out of 5 The homemade lure is flat out a fish killer. Goes everywhere a regular hollow body frog goes but covers far more water faster and gets fish to bite and gets them in the boat. I think before the homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog I could count the number of hollow body frog fish I've caught one one hand, with the homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog I usually catch 4-5 fish per trip. Winner is definitely the Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog. Only fish I've caught with the Teckel. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog

First Time Throwing Whopper Plopper- Frustrating
So weird. It's my new favorite lure and one of the reasons is because if a fish hits it, almost 100% chance it is hooked and stays hooked. I was thinking OP could change color (but he'd need more than 1 for that) and that might work. Also, going from steady retrieve to stop and go. I caught 3 today on the WP. 2 were one a steady retrieve and the 3rd was when it landed I let it sit on the landing and the fish took it.

115 vs 150 hp
Someone once told me that a boat dealer said when people bring boats to trade in he only cares about the motor. He says he could give a dang about the boat. Says the value is in the motor. Does that sound right? I saw a nice boat, only a few years old and in mint condition and rarely used. Asking price was fair but the motor was underpowered by about 50hp. Because of the didn't buy it. Maybe if I got the price right it'd be worth swapping engines but I didn't want to go thru the hassle. I wonder how many other potential buyers did the same thing.

Idling with trolling motor down?
Why wouldn't you just drive around with the TM doing that? Because it's easier to use the big motor and steering wheel?
