  1. More pics? How did you make this and what tail did you use? What size CPS and swivel?
  2. Thanks, I'll check. There is no plug in as it is hardwired in, so I'll check to see if that became loose at all. I know the battery connections are tight.
  3. Never had an issue with my anything on my 2014 Stratus 186VLO. Bought it used and owned it for 1 year. This year put a new Minn Kota Ulterra on it, took off a Minn Kota Terrova. Haven't had any problem with either TM or their batteries. Brought my boat into the shop because I thought the motor was smoking too much. Found out that it was fine and that 2 strokes just smoke. It was outside overnight, something that it never is as it is always stored in my pole barn. Well, I took it out to the lake for the first time to test it and everything worked well, except my trolling motor. The green "power" light came on and then it only deployed it about 2" inches. After a few tries I got it stowed. It seemed that whenever it got any power it turned off. Then the red "low voltage" light came on the Ulterra next to the "power" light. So my thinking was bad battery. Update: Tried it again today after full charging. Same problem. It seems that when it starts to deploy it pops the breaker and turns off. I can immediately turn it back on but it won't deploy but obviously it's not flipping the breakerMaybe the batteries did go bad. Im going to take it back to NTB and not charge the battery as recommended and see what happens. Plugged the boat's Minn Kota charger in back at the house for 2 days and the batteries said fully charged. Went up to check the Ulterra and the red "low voltage" is still on, so now I'm worried if I go back to the lake the trolling motor won't work again. Brought the boat to NTB and they tested all 3 batteries (2 deep cycle, 1 cranking) and they all checked out fine. Update: All connections are tight and all fuses/breakers are good. Boat has worked fine for a year, and worked well for 10 trips or so with the new Ulterra, no problems. Water level in batteries is good. Got home and read the manual, apparently a solid red light is "stowed", a blinking red light is "stowing/deploying" and no light when the motor is on is "deployed". Well, if this is the case then I don't know why my motor wouldn't stow or deploy on the lake, I will take it out on the lake and attempt to use it again (I wish I could do it on the trailer but the TM hits the trailer) and reset it if I have to. What's wrong with my Ulterra? Could the shop have done something to screw up my trolling motor? *** The TM batteries have 30amp fuses on them (covered in red rubber) and then a breaker that you can see on the bottom left of the pic. I also tried to reset it per Minn Kota's instructions but it wouldn't do that either.
  4. O, snap! Time to put the homemade frog away and see how the real deal works! Can't wait to get out on the water!
  5. The dang DNR and fishing laws......o, wait. lol
  6. I have a custom cover from the previous owner, but not sure if it's custom enough for traveling without scratching the boat......bummer. I wonder if there is anyway to tell if it's good enough to travel at highway speeds with?
  7. +10. I hate the wind.
  8. My fingers. And with the 110, I just push the tail into the body and twist it and it sort of grinds up the weed.
  9. Same problem I had with solid body frogs. Switched to a homemade Teckel Sprinker frog and will probably never go back.

Senko's have caught some of our largest bass. If the weather kicks out and you need to get it down quicker I put a small nail into the head of the Senko when it's wacky rigged.
  11. That's always a nice surprise! Monkeybutt is my favorite color, although I don't think color really matters with these.
  12. Anyone making counterfeit ones maybe?
  13. None. We've used 6. 2 of each, 90, 110, and 130.
  14. I think the tubing softly grips the Senko in a way that lets it slide left and right, thus not tearing it. I think if you put a hole in the middle the Senko would tear.
  15. Is this a Cabelas that has a Bass Pro nearby?
  16. I only change to improve effectiveness. I love topwater and will sacrifice a few fish to catch fish on topwater. If I am not catching any or a lot I will change up. I have 4 rods tied up with the same thing, two baitcasting rods, one with a Whopper Plopper 110, Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog and two spinning rods with Zoom Superfluke nose-hooked, and a Senko. If I have to change it up I'll probably change to a spinnerbait first.
  17. Good luck! My 2 favorite colors after Monkeybutt Tell us how it goes!
  18. I got the email too. Yay for us! lol
  19. Tried a Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. for my homemade Teckel Sprinker frog.....it was too small and sank. For some reason the Snagproof Phat Frog also sank. Tried a Spro and it worked. Did buy a new Booyah Pad Crasher, will try that one out to see if it also works. Do you have to squeeze Pad Crashers out or do they have a separate channel to drain water like Snagproof's?
  20. FYI, I tried the larger split ring and didn't work as well as the 3 way swivel. I used VMC 3 way swivels and didn't have any problems with weeds, however, I don't know what type of weeds you have. Real Teckel Sprinker Frog tails have worked the best for me.
  21. What did you use to connect, 3 way swivel, split ring, or something else?
  22. Interesting. The tube in the pic is regular plumbing tubing from Menards. I have used aquarium tubing for other stuff, not this. I agree that all tubing probably isn't the same.
  23. We always used a long shackled padlock through the motor bolts. Kept someone from stealing the motor and from the bolts vibrating loose.
  24. I've tried almost all of them I think, poppers, frogs, wake baits, walk the dog baits, buzzbaits, also things like the Ima Roumba and Ima Skimmer. I really like glass water with no waves. When waves pick up, topwater can be hard, especially with what used to be my favorite topwater bait, the KVD Sexy Dawg, which is a walk the dog type bait. I really like Cavitrons, the best buzzbait in my mind but you go through buzzbaits after a few fish tear them up, especially northerns. My new favorite topwater is the Whopper Plopper. Killing it this year with this lure. I love it because it's so effective but also covers water as fast as you want. With the Sexy Dawg which is similar to a Spook, you had to walk the dog and that is slow. The Whopper Plopper you can use at any speed and cover so much more faster and more effectively. Whopper Plopper size 110 is my favorite followed by size 90 when there are weeds underneath the surface. Also, with it's 2 super sharp hooks out of the box the Whopper Plopper loses very few fish. With a buzzbait many times I'd add a stinger hook for short bites, not a problem with the Whopper Plopper. Also, I like the Monkeybutt color followed by Bone then Loon, although I don't think color counts as much for topwater. One more thing, the Whopper Plopper works well in waves because it can cause a big disruption if you want it to, walking baits like the KVD Sexy Dawg couldn't do that, which is what makes the WP more versatile. ....if it's weedy and you mean topwater frog my favorite is my Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frogs, if I get my real Teckel Sprinker Frogs in the mail ever they maybe come my favorite frog.
