  1. Weird. Maybe color, size, or they just don't like that lure.
  2. To bad you need to squeeze water out. How is your hook up percentage on bites? Any use in lily pads?
  3. This lure seems to be the unicorn of baits right now with them being sold out everywhere or at highway robbery prices on EBay. Wondering if any member has used one and what their experience and thoughts are: 1.) How effective was it? 2.) Do you have to squeeze water out of it like some other frogs? 3.) Where does it fall in your arensal: favorite, least favorite, somewhere in between and why? I can't wait to receive mine (it appears around Aug 15th) but don't want to be disappointed if they take on water and have to be squeezed all the time or if they didn't resolve the problem with the tail not spinning properly. I know my homemade ones are working great, hope the actual original works better though.
  4. Nice! Any success with those yet? What tail is that?
  5. Whsy speeds are you fishing the Plopper? I almost always catch my fish going pretty slow.
  6. Only to the person buying it. ?
  7. 130 is really big, 190 would be like a shark lure. lol.
  8. Update: I opened up 2 packs of Spro bearing swivels size 3 and 4. I tested all 7 swivels by hand and they all appeared to roll nice and smooth. Hope they work well.
  9. So what did you go with?
  10. I have 3 on order. If they work as well as the homemade ones I made I will buy 5-6 during TW's sale with my gift cards should get 35% off which would make them $9, a few dollars less than the Live Target frogs and less than Spro frogs which isn't too bad of a price. What's ironic is by the time I get a cheap tail that will work I will probably get my Sprinker frogs in the mail and won't need them anymore. lol. And I've been spending all of this time tweeking my homemade ones with different sized split rings, tails, and swivels to make it work better.
  11. I have this and used it a few times. Problem is that it is not weedless and is too long. The Teckel Sprinker seems perfect length, basically the same as a regular frog.
  12. Havent caught anything on mine yet, but to be fair I've only used them once. Will try again.
  13. Homemade ones have been doing well. I'd get one for your dad for sure.
  14. I want to try a different tail for my Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog. I've been using a gambler Big Ez swimbaits by cutting their tails off. But I think they maybe too big and harder to rotate. So I was thinking about trying a different tail. I see that the original tail looks pretty cylindrical with a tail at the end. No swimbait really has a tail like that unfortunately. I don't want to buy the Teckel Sprinker Frog spare tails because they are expensive. This is what the Teckel Sprinker Frog tail looks like. This is the new Zoom Boot tail Fluke and looks promising. Whats the best tail for a homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog?
  15. Im having problem with the diving too. Problem is the frogs I'm using didn't initially have that problem. Gonna try less weight and ball bearing swivel.
  16. Cool. So you think it's more successful for you than a fluke?
  17. Super sharp hooks so that those hits end up being caught fish. The Whopper Plopper has some of the sharpest hooks out of the box that I've ever used and if a fish hits it on the retrieve I have about a 98% catch ratio. I think I've only lost like 1 or 2 that bit on the retrieve. So, at night, even if you can't see or hear the hit you should probably hook that fish. We did buzzbaits at night and added stingers which helped. Now I would just use a WP. You could use a headlamp when it comes to unhooking.
  18. So, it's basically just like a fluke?
  19. Thanks guys. Spro it is. Good I asked.
  20. So far my homemade one Sprinker Frog has been killing it. I hope the real one is just as good if not better.
  21. I only ask because I thought I read Matzuo had some quality control issues. I have a pack of each and was wondering what one to start out with? Which one is higher quality and will spin easier?
  22. What rubber are you using for stops on that?
  23. Does the caffeine shad float if not weighted down?
  24. I think he was asking if anyone else had this problem and if it was a common issue. So far doesn't seem to be.
  25. I had a 2010 Terrova and never had any problems with it. Besides the spotlock being crappy but that was before I learned that it's area was like 15' feet, which makes sense. The newer ones are much better.
