The problem with Ranger Boat style trailers
They problem with Ranger Boats style trailers is that they have the spare tire almost level with the regular tires and vertical rather than tilted. It can lead to problems like below. The spare tire is going to hit the ground and perhaps damage the tire or tire mount. This ramp also appears to be fairly shallow and not steep at all. I've always thought tilting the spare was better because it allowed you to watch both trailer front tires when trailering and put the spare tire higher up. I would like to get a Ranger in the future and would like to avoid this if possible. I wouldn't want to spend $90k and then have to pay to customize the trailer at more costs. Ranger should make a useable trailer from the start at their premium prices. Am I wrong? As you can see, offset/angled mounts are common and raise the tire so it's much higher on the trailer.

Settle a bet for me
I was told that using the reel would wear it out so I only manually close the bail and start reeling now.

What will the next improvements for Trolling Motors be?
Does seem like a hybrid outboard would be on the way. Cars are already doing it. This is fine for deep water like Lake Superior but I believe a lot of people like bass fisherman who fish docks or shallow water would not want their big motor in the water. Whenever I fish shallow I put my big motor almost all the way out of the water because one time I was trolling around and the wind blew the big motor into a rock and scraped it up.

Anyone use Boat Buckles, or similar
Well worth the extra money. I bought a pair for my Crestliner and 4 years later when I sold it I transferred them to my Stratos. Love them. Will never have a boat without them. They also make a special bracket if ur boat needs them.

What is the best and most value priced Hollow Body Frog that you do not have to squeeze the water out of?
So, I tried 44 Tackle's take on the homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog. It worked well, however, I thought a bigger swivel and split ring would help it ride higher so that you could retrieve the hollow body frog slower. I made the change to size 1 swivel and size 10 split ring. It worked well, I was able to retrieve the frog at a much slower pace and still get the tail to spin making the Whopper Plopper type sound. The problem was that the tail was now too heavy, causing the Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. to sink. So, I cut the legs off of a fullsize Spro Frog and tried it. Worked great. Caught 3 really nice fish. However, I had to squeeze water out of the frog about every 8th cast and it was annoying. I didn't have to do that with the Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. So, I am looking for the best fullsize frog that I won't have to continually squeeze water out of. I'm wondering if the Booyah Pad Crasher might work or a Snagproof Phat Frog from Ish Monroe because it is built with 2 chambers so that the frog never fills with water and doesn't have to be squeezed. What is the best and most value priced Hollow Body Frog that you do not have to squeeze the water out of? Pics of 2 recent fish off of the Spro Sprinker Frog. Fish all look small but both were over 1.5lbs. Not huge but fun nonetheless. The second fish crushed it, pulling the frogs body over the hooks and up over the swivel. I love frog fishin'! (Sorry, don't know why the pics are flipped, they aren't when I uploaded them.)

Maximizing Budget Baits
Interesting. So you do it to brand new ones and you only dip the tail in?

How to make your own Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog
After trying it and despite having success I believe you are correct. I updated to a size 10 split ring and size 1 swivel. Generation 1 on bottom and Gen 2 on top. You can see the split ring and swivel are noticeably larger. I think this will make it so that the tail will spin easier without requiring so much speed and it will be able to be retrieved at a much slower rate.

Favorites Box
Yep, small Plano 3600 with a small tackle box inside it, it has Senkos, Zoom Super Flukes in it and the little tackle has hooks and rubber tubing for the Senkos. I keep one up front for me and one in the back for the co-angler so that they don't need to come to the front of the boat to get the essentials. I love topwater, so I had one that had KVD Sexydawgs and Ragetail frogs. Now it's filled with Whopper Ploppers and my homemade Teckel Sprinker Frogs.

What type of metal file to file down jagged edges on Stainless Steel propeller?
Thanks. I actually saw a video where the Evinrude guy (probably not actual Evinrude employee) uses a file to fix a SS prop. But he doesn't explain which file to use. Here it is:

What type of metal file to file down jagged edges on Stainless Steel propeller?
Dont they come in certain grains like fine or course?

What type of metal file to file down jagged edges on Stainless Steel propeller?
First I want to give a shout out to Hannays Marine in Minneapolis. I brought my prop in after I hit a rock and instead of just letting me pay around $200 to have fixed he said the damage was minor and explained how to repair it. That's the sign of a great store with great customer service. He said just bang out the bent parts and file down the rough edges and burrs with a file. So, I need to know what type of file to get. I'm assuming a fine grain but I'm not sure. What type of file do I need to smooth out this stainless steel prop?

Double fluke rig looks amazing in the water and I don't think I set the hook hard enough on plastics
Cool. Yeah, good luck on the hookset. With 2 lures on you'll need more force in the first place. And setting the hook on a single hook is less chance of pulling it out so swing away.

Anyone tried the new Teckel USA SPRINKER FROG?
This lure is so hyped right now that people including myself are even making their own homemade version. I have 3 on order from TW but they are back ordered. So I received an email from Bama Frogs saying that they would be getting a shipment in at 2pm that day. Well, I thought to myself I already have 3 on order but I had success with my homemade version. Ordering 2 more real ones wouldn't hurt since I have no clue when the ones from TW might come in. This is what I saw when I went to their webpage: Ugh! Talk about 1st World Fisherman problems! Stores can't keep this lure in stock. It sells out in minutes. At least I can still catch them on my homemade version. I used the instructions from 44 Tackle on how to make it but I think I will add a larger split ring and swivel to make it easier to retrieve. Is the Teckel Sprinker Frog one of the most hyped and anticipated lures of all time? I can't think of any other lure but I only been bass fishing a short time. Do you recall any lure that was as hyped and anticipated?

Improved Zoom Super Fluke Rigging with Owner Twistlock CPS and Heat Shrink - instructions w/ pics
I don't know how it works either but it just works now. I obviously don't throw right into weeds but fishing under docks and open water that have weeds and it still works well. Sometimes you do get weeds though.

Having a dealer add an electric winch onto a new boat trailer?
If someone was to buy a new Ranger 621FS and wanted to have the dealer add an electronic winch, would/could they? Is this a normal request? Just wondering in case I go this route someday as it would be a boat for the long term and it's a large boat, and some of the ramps I use are extremely shallow causing you to do a lot of winching and many places power loading isn't allowed, plus I don't like disrupting the bottom if I don't have to. Also, as I get older, winching a huge boat onto a trailer only gets harder not easier. I looked at Ranger's website and didn't see anything about electric winches being an option. Is it an option from Ranger? I also read that you'd have to wire your truck to to run the winch. Isn't there a way to run the winch into the trailer wiring so that all you have to do is plug in your trailer like normal? Because if you have to wire it into your truck and go fishing but don't use your truck your winch won't work. Also, would this void any type of warranty? Any other factors I should consider? Anyone know the answers to these questions? Thanks in advance.

If it was me I'd do pearl and chartreuse metal flake. When it comes to flukes I've always like white and white with chartreuse tail. In all reality I use white so that I can see it. Color doesn't seem to affect fish catching.

Thanks. I'll have to look into that. I could work better than the Zoom. Next time I order from TW I'll have to order some. One nice think about Zoom is that you can find them at any store and they are cheap. So, that would have to be an online order.

Improved Zoom Super Fluke Rigging with Owner Twistlock CPS and Heat Shrink - instructions w/ pics
Ah. Weird for me because I watched the video on using a CPS Twistlock and the guy never said anything about losing any. I used the exact set up he did and quickly lost 3 CPS Twistlocks in a few mins. lol

Landing an extra what fish? I'm not understanding what you're saying? Flukes are cheap but CPS Twistlocks aren't. Using this method takes 3 seconds to do and then you virtually won't lose any more CPS Twistlocks. Sure you'll keep going through Flukes as expected but you most likely won't lose any Flukes or CPS Twistlocks just by having your rod getting ready to cast or casting. And like I said, a pack of heat shrink is 99 cents and has lasted almost a decade. I'm not saying anyone has to do this or that it's the best way. Just spreading this tip for those who want to add it to their toolbox. I really like nose rigging Flukes because of the weedlessness and action and this way of rigging them has been great for us. Do whatever works for you and enjoy!

Improved Zoom Super Fluke Rigging with Owner Twistlock CPS and Heat Shrink - instructions w/ pics
I don't like using superglue if I don't have too, especially on my boat, it would be a disaster. lol. Also, don't like to have to use fire either. This solution has worked over a few trips and many fish and haven't lost any CPS Twistlocks since. Have had a few flukes torn but that's how they work. It's also a cheap solution as the entire pack of heat shrink only cost 99 cents and I've had it for 6 years. Unless you lose the heat shrink and CPS, one piece of heat shrink and one Owner CPS could last you indefinitely.

Hit a rock with my Stainless Steel prop on my Evinrude E-Tec 115 horse
Mostly sandy bottom. But somehow a rock right at the landing. I'm ok with losing performance, I'm not making long runs. All rocks are under water, deep enough to not hit hull but hit motor lower unit.
