  1. My Revo Rocket is starting to make noises like it's dry. I've never taken it apart. I want to take apart my baitcasting and spinning reels apart for maintenance. I'm looking for the best lube (is that all you need or do you need grease too?) and instructional videos on how to take my reels apart and lube them.
  2. Will it spin a lot better than the Spro Power Swivel?
  3. Spro Power Swivels and Riptail Rolling Barrel Swivels. Sizes 1 and 6.
  4. Trying to make it easier for my homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog's tail to spin. Getting it up to plane has been a problem recently. The original homemade design consists of 1 split ring, 1 swivel, and 1 CPS Twistlock with tail. To make it work better I have added a second larger split ring to go over the hook and set it back farther, then the smaller split ring to that and then the CPW Twistlock and tail. I have swivels of all sizes but assumed that a smaller swivel with a larger tail would spin easier, since larger forces on a small swivel would work better than a large swivel, however, being larger could also make it easier to spin so I don't know which one would spin more easily. So, what spins easier, smaller or larger swivels?
  5. Sure they could, but most thieves are looking for quick and easy. Which is why you often see stuff stolen from trucks or boats but not tires. Why is that? Because a guy going into a boat or truck to get something looks normal. A guy using a wrench to take off a tire when the trailer doesn't have a flat looks suspicious and takes time. If you left your spare in the back of your truck a guy could pick it up, put it on his truck/boat and drive off in seconds wherein taking off the tire takes time. Also, Ranger's tire mounts are welded on. You'd have to cut that off or pay someone to do it first, then sand it down, put the new mount on and then have it painted. That's a lot.
  6. Although I use a size 10 split ring and size 1 swivel and will be using a Snagproof Phat Frog because the Pad Crasher Jr. sank with the larger tackle.
  7. You mean for walking the frog or the making the Sprinker?
  8. Wow. Awesome. Whopper Plopper is my favorite lure.
  9. I've had problems walking them all. And I think I own almost all of them. lol. I started using my own Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frogs and killing it. Love them. Easy to make and anyone can fish them.
  10. No, I think Ranger makes one of the best trailers. I just wish they'd get with the times and use the tried and true tilted mount like Shorelandr'. Shorelandr is a major brand and makes thousands of trailers.
  11. Lunds is a major boat company, obviously they see the benefit of the tilted mount.
  12. I like it this way too, but correct me if I'm wrong, this is usually ok with a shallower bass boat but usually deeper multi-specie boats can't have this set up?
  13. Saw that too. I saw a guy pull his out of the lake like that. Well, he had no skeg afterward.
  14. Thanks! I ordered 3. The Jackalls are only a dollar more but aren't available yet.
  15. Until someone steals it from the back of your truck. I had someone go into the way back of my old suburban and steal an old life jacket. Hard to look and see from pictures. Most have the tires installed and it covers the mount.

The 90 did work. Now though the grass is at the water surface and no Whopper Plopper will work. Been using a homemade Sprinker Frog and it has been great.
  17. Are Ranger tire mounts welded to the frame?
  18. I have seen that. But if I spend $90k on a boat I don't want to have to spend more to make it right. An angled tire mount is the same price and works so well and other major manufactures use angled tire mounts. I wish Ranger would get with the program.
  19. It's funny, the angled tire mounts aren't new or expensive. Just use that. Can't be anymore expensive.
  20. Thx. Not my boat. Just an observation. But why I like a tilted spare tire to avoid this and being able to see your tires when you drive.
  21. Problem with putting in your truck bed is that someone can easily steal it from your truck. Also, if you use a friends truck always moving the spare back and forth would be a pain. I wouldn't want to buy a new $90k Ranger and start welding onto the trailer.
  22. The ramp in the pic doesn't look too steep.
