What's wrong with my 2014 Etec 115 horse?
Talked to them again. Apparently it came out of winterize mode 3 hours ago. Well, I said that's when I had it winterized last year by the dealership for its 3 year maintenance. So, it hasn't been running in winterize mode this whole time which is good. He said 2 strokes smoke. Well, I said it never smoked at all last year. He said rings wear in, it gets used, smoke is normal. I said as much smoke as in the video, he said yes. So, I guess that answers it.

What's wrong with my 2014 Etec 115 horse?
Labor or I guess since it's not covered by warranty. Haven't talked to them yet, will tomorrow when I go to pick my boat up. Basically I meant to say if it's stuck in "winterize mode" isn't it not supposed to do that.

What's wrong with my 2014 Etec 115 horse?
Update: So, got it into the shop and they said that it some how got put into winterize mode and has been running that way the last couple of trips. Said its not a warranty issue issue and I have to pay for it. I don't mind paying for it but I thought winterize mode was a one time deal and that once you did that it would automatically go back to normal mode because I've never heard of turning it off from winterize mode. Am I wrong? Is something wrong with it? Shouldn't it automatically go back to normal mode after winterize mode? If it doesn't and it's supposed to, then isn't something wrong?

Trailer lights that illuminate the tire?
Hahaha. I know Francho doesn't like the Teckel Sprinker Frog, don't know if it's because he's used one and was disappointed or never used one, but this one is for you buddy. From last night. lol.

Cool. Good to know. Thanks. So, no new trailers do this?

Best tail for Homemade Teckel Frog?
I agree it runs better at all speeds. I saw some guy guiding wire through his frog and another bending paper clips and I was like too much work. lol. When I saw a guy using 3 way swivels I was like I'll try that easy way. Also easier to get on then then split rings. Yesterday was the best day with the homemade one. Caught 10 bass in under an hour and 1/2 and lost 2 which is actually a pretty good hookup ratio and not losing fish. Last 3 were 3 fish on 3 casts. It was crazy. My brother and friend were like, "Are you kidding? We aren't catching anything." My friend was throwing a regular frog and caught one while my brother was using a homemade Sprinker frog, but it was a Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. with blue Teckel tail and I was using a full size Spro with green tail. He only got small bites from perhaps sunnies. Weird. Maybe color or size mattered yesterday.

Trailer lights that illuminate the tire?
I've never had trailer lights that illuminated the tire so that you could keep an eye on it when driving. I had a tire blow on my old boat and it tore up the fender. If I had seen it right away I could have perhaps stopped sooner and saved the fender. I've pulled a few boats and trailers in my day and never seen trailer lights that point down to illuminate the tire so that you can monitor it's status. Maybe new boat trailers and trailers have this feature now or maybe it's illegal lighting. I don't know but it would be nice. Does anyone make trailer lights that illuminate the tire so that you can monitor them when you drive in case one goes flat or you have a blow out while driving at night?

Do lure manufacturers ever make improvements/changes/upgrades to lures?
I don't. OP said improvements were suggested in this video. Some frogs, like Snagproof's Phat Frog have a separate hook channel thus not needing to squeeze water out (theoretically).

Good. I saw an above poster pointed out that River2Sea improved the Whopper Plopper 110 also. Rather then make a "premium" Sprinker Frog I wish they'd just improve the current one.

Best Soft Body Frog?
I loved Ragetails but after a fish or two the hook usually doesn't skin right anymore and it becomes a pain because it isn't weedless anymore. Why I stopped using them. If you want a disturbance like solid body frogs make try a pink buzzbait on a drop shot.

Weren't some guys using totally different lures than they were sponsored by but not telling anyone? Reminds me of Forest Gump and his ping pong paddle ad. lol

So this noisy reel needs oil, not grease, correct? w/ video
Perfect, thanks man!

What can I do to increase my chances of catching something on topwater in the morning?
Thanks. Man, looks just like it.

I'm definitely not Teckel! lol. But I hope they follow your philosophy!

Interesting. Do you like it? I've never heard of anyone improving a lure with changes besides hooks but it would be nice.

Any pic of the brake drum? I only see the big metal cylinder when I pull that up.

I would send it to him if it gets to that but I like to fix things on my own if I can. It's a Revo Rocket, so I think it has centrifugal brakes. I'll look into the break drum. Thanks!

Dang, still squeals. I oiled up the bearings inside the cover and on the spool. So I need to grease the gears and stuff too?

Do lure manufacturers ever make improvements/changes/upgrades to lures?
Things like night vision goggles get upgrades/improvements and normally are called Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3 and so forth. However, it seems that upgrades/changes/improvements to lures don't really happen, most likely because they are basically perfect when they are introduced. Perhaps a lure will get different hooks on it, but I've never really seen any changes in lures once they are introduced to the public. Well, I watched the below review on the Teckel Sprinker Frog and the guy said the negatives are that it 1.) needs to be squeezed to let water out and should be auto-drain like the Snagproof Phat Frog, and 2.) the nose is pointed down which makes it dive when it should be pointed up to make it ride even. 1.) What is the chance of Teckel ever making these improvements and introducing a Gen 2 version of their Sprinker Frog? 2.) Do lure companies ever change/improve lures once they are introduced to the public? If companies never change lures once they hit the market, then I'd suspect Teckel won't make any improvements to their products either.

Best tail for Homemade Teckel Frog?
Well, I went a different route and decided to buy the spare Teckel Sprinker Frog tails. I used them with a 3 way VMC size 4 swivel and it worked well. Not as as well as I suspect a real Sprinker Frog but not bad. Did not work well with the Snagproof Phat Frog but worked well with the Spro Frog and surprisingly did not have to squeeze the water out much. Only a few times during 3 hours of fishing. I caught 3 nice bass with it. Lost 2 really big ones halfway to the boat and a few misses but I think they were smaller ones.
