  1. Didn't hear him say what lure he was using, what was he using? Is it a suspending bait?
  2. Update: Went out fishing today and saw the smoke again. It is definitely smoke and not steam. Gave off a slight burning smell. No alarms went off and motor ran fine. If it is a thermostat problem the motor is just getting too hot? I only make 2 five minute runs to and from my fishing spot, could I go fishing 1 more time before I bring the boat into the dealer or should I bring it in ASAP?
  3. I usually wait for the $69, but with Bass Pro buying Cabelas who knows if they'll change vendors or if quality will go down, because of that I bought 2 ZX spinning rods and 1 baistcasting rod, leaving me with 2 spares of each.
  4. Try a Whopper Plopper and try varying speeds. Also, a Senko or Zoom Super Fluke could work well also.
  5. FYI, Cabelas Tournament ZX baitcasting and spinning rods are on sale for $79 right now, usually $99. It's a great rod for $99 and an amazing rod for $79.

  7. I can't believe they don't, that's not very smart. I think you can cut down the shaft length, but that would probably void warranty and who wants to take a saw to their $2,700 motor.
  8. Auto trim would be cool. The new Etec has auto trim, although it's for getting the boat on plane, not ground clearance.
  9. A friend owns a 2017 Lund GL 208 and said it rides better than the last Ranger 621 that he rode in. However, he said the last time he drove a Ranger it was before they had the new hull design. He did say that his friends own the current new Rangers and are switching to Lund GLs. He did note that the Ranger has much nicer amenities than the Lund which he wishes the Lund had such as a cooler. Anyone ride in both the new Ranger 621FS and Lund GLs and have an opinion on which is better ride and otherwise?
  10. Think about this, the fact that premium boats put them on their trailers as standard equipment tells you something.
  11. You're probably right about not damaging it. I have mine zip tied and about 2 feet of wire hanging out too. I just don't like stepping on it. It's a $2,400 motor, I'd just hate to damage the cord and break it.
  12. I move around a lot on the deck and sometimes fish two people, I don't want to step on it and damage it if at all possible.
  13. I've used translucent colors on all the lakes I've fished and caught topwater fish on everyone. Could I have caught more with a dark or light color, I don't know. I use translucent because I like the look of it. lol. I don't think the fish care as much.
  14. Thanks. I want to take it in but looks like the dealership is booked for a month. If its under warranty I don't pay anything, right?
  15. That's a good point. Is that ok or does that mean the engine is getting too hot and the exhaust is steam rather than water?
  16. I would say a light color and dark color however I always use translucent and it's worked for me. Same time my bro uses Bone color and catches just as many fish. I don't think color really matters for topwater.
  17. I also discovered that putting the rod in the rod holder of my boat, with the hook keeper behind the reel, the hook got caught on the rubber of the rod butt holder. Dang.
  18. 80' and it was 9pm....maybe cooling down? Had just ran the motor for 5 minutes.
  19. Not sure. I think it was around 80' air and no clue water. Called dealership and they said most likely steam. Either water was hot or thermostat maybe going bad.
  20. Cool, I just picked up some 3 way swivels also. I saw a guy use a paperclip, he said using a split ring over the legs caused the frog to rotate and I noticed I had that problem too. I did just pick up some Keitech Swing Impacts and will try their tails instead, one is much smaller and one is larger.
  21. You think something is wrong with it?
  22. Wouldn't circle hooks be better because you don't need a huge sweeping hook set?
  23. Only negative about my Ulterra. Because I move the pedal around, it would be nice to have wireless pedal with a backup cable.
  24. I warched a instructional video where he put grease in the level wind. What are you supposed to put, oil or grease?
